“I took this damn vacation because you forced me to. Do you know how much work would have been done if I was at work right now? When I get back, I'm firing your ass. How could you connive with my father to backstab me?” I complained as I paced around the room of this large ship.
“You're making it sound like we took you to hell. It's just for 2 weeks. I wouldn't mind if you stayed longer though. It's Christmas. Lighten up a bit, man.” His annoying voice replied from the other side and I groaned in frustration.
“Fuck you, Lawrence.”
“I love you too, boss.” He snickered as he said those words and I cringed. He sure loved to get on my nerves whenever he got the chance.
“Have fun, make friends, and don't you dare wear any damn mask around. Thank goodness I hid all of them before you left.” He added as he cackled loudly and I clenched my fists in anger.
“Lawrence!”
I hated going around without wearing my face masks. The plan was to keep my face hidden for as long as I could. I wasn't ugly, it was quite the opposite actually. No one knew what I really looked like, not even my employees at home or work.
Except Lawrence, of course, and my dad. My step-sister doesn't even know what I look like. The abnormal one in our family. Dad couldn't find another woman to remarry to, he had to marry a single mom.
I don't hate them, no. I just don't feel comfortable with them. I've never felt comfortable around anyone except Lawrence. Even my father irks me a lot.
“You're gonna be fine. Go get yourself a girlfriend, and have fun for once. Who knows, you might finally lay and be laid.”
“You're fired already, Lawrence.” I hung up as I flung my phone on the bed and pulled my hair in frustration.
How could he be so brazen? Just wait till I get back to work, he won't be able to run his mouth after then.
I had to go for a ride. That should clear my head a bit. I put on my helmet and headed out where everyone was talking loudly and singing Christmas songs.
I sighed in relief when I saw my baby sitting just where I had parked it, waiting for me to sit on it and ride like there was no tomorrow. I don't care how vulgar that sounds.
I walked up to my beautiful bike and a sharp gasp escaped my lips when I noticed that the tires had been punctured. Who would actually dare to do such a thing?
“My baby.” I almost cried as I placed my hands on my head, which was covered by the helmet. This was the only thing I cherished more than my life.
Calling the mechanic late at night wouldn't be fair to him at all. I had no choice but to wait till tomorrow morning before I could get my baby fixed. I was beyond devastated.
Now, I needed a drink but the damn bar was too crowded. I managed to slip my way through and asked the bartender to help with a bottle of whiskey.
While I waited, I turned to see the crowd cheering at someone in the middle of the bar and I narrowed my eyes slightly to see who or what they were cheering for. Not that I cared anyway, but to cure my boredom, I looked.
A girl was dancing wildly to the loud music that was playing and boy, she was a terrible dancer. By terrible, I mean terribly good. She had mad moves and I found myself ooh-ing as she worked her body to the beat.
Finally, the music came to an end and she giggled as she stumbled over to my side and when she caught sight of me, she narrowed her eyes as she pointed her finger at me.
“You look like my ex-boyfriend.” She said and I let out a soft chuckle as I ignored her drunk ass. She can't even see my face. The bartender finally returned after what seemed like ages and handed me the bottle of whiskey.
“Hey! I'm talking to you! How dare you cheat on me with that bimbo? Wasn't I good enough for you?” She mumbled and I assumed that she was going through a heartbreak. But to my surprise, she wasn't crying, it actually felt like she was reading a book as she spoke.
I stood up to walk away when she gripped my collar and then collapsed on me. She passed out on me. Damn it. I was gonna pull her off me and place her on the floor but the way everyone looked at me made me think twice.
With a resigned sigh, I picked her up and walked out of the bar that was already beginning to feel suffocating. I didn't know where she was from, neither did I know where she was headed. But I couldn't leave her out here like this, she was too vulnerable right now and could be easily taken advantage of.
I took her to my cabin and placed her on the bed carefully, wondering what mess I had gotten myself into. Lawrence would be very happy to hear this.
I took off the helmet and poured the whiskey into a glass as I gulped the whole thing down. Eugh, it tasted stronger than usual. I didn't mind though and gulped down another glass.
“I hate you!” I heard the drunk lady yell as she sat up and I quickly reached for my helmet and placed it over my head as I stood up to check up on her.
“You don't hate me, you hate the jerk that hurt you,” I mumbled and her eyes moved to meet mine and for a second, I was mesmerized by her ruby eyes. This was the first time I ever saw ruby as someone's eye color.
She squinted her eyes at me and a soft ‘ah’ escaped her lips as she nodded drowsily and tried to get out of the bed.
“You're not that jerk, you're a weird man that wears helmets even in a room.” She mumbled as she stumbled out of bed and I rushed to her side as I held her to stop her from falling.
“You're warm.” She muttered as she raised her head to look at me and the moment our eyes met, my heart did a weird thing in my chest.
What was this weird feeling?

Levrae~Eleanor. Jax's best friend and ex-girlfriend. The red-haired bimbo. Did he seriously call her here? I turned to look at Jax and it seemed like he was surprised to see her here as well. “Eleanor? What are you doing here?” He asked in surprise but he didn't look angry at all. Rather, I could say he looked relieved. “She was with us when you called and I thought, why can't she come with us? You said it could contain five people. Look, we're complete. Except for some unwanted pest that isn't needed.” His mom replied and I clenched my fists in anger. “Mom, don't talk about her like that. Come on, let's get your things inside.” He said and I had to roll my eyes when Eleanor smiled cutely at him. They started to file inside and before Jax could follow them, I held him back, a worried look on my face. “Jaxie, This was supposed to be for the both of us only. You know I'm never comfortable with Eleanor or your mom. You know your sister hates me too. How am I supposed to survive?”
~Levrae~Weeks had passed since my argument with Emily. I felt extremely guilty for the way I spoke to her but I couldn't bring myself to call her and apologize. It's not like I was wrong anyway. My surprise for Jax was here. I had secretly packed his things and mine while he was packing up at work for the holiday break. It was eight days to Christmas and excitement was coursing through my veins more than ever. The door swung open and Jax walked in, a surprised look on his face as he saw our traveling bags by the door side. He raised a brow in question as he took off his jacket and threw it on the couch. “What's going on, babe?” He asked as he walked up to me and gave me a quick peck. I smiled happily as I reached into my purse and pulled out our tickets to the cruise ship. He took it from me with confusion written all over his face as he went through it and I watched as his expression changed from confusion, to shock, then to excitement.“Babe, what is this? Hold on, don't tell m
Levrae~Jax didn't return home until past three in the morning. I couldn't sleep. I was sitting on the same couch waiting for him to come back. I couldn't help but be worried about him. He stumbled in, a tired and exhausted look on his face as he flung his jacket to the couch- well, my face, earning a slight whimper from me. “Oh my goodness, baby. What are you doing here?” He asked in worry as he took the jacket off and sat beside me. I immediately wrapped my arms around him and he pulled me to straddle him immediately. “Why did you wait for me? You can't be sleep-deprived because of me, okay?” He reprimanded me and I couldn't help but smile with how worried he was for me. My smile faded when I leaned closer and I could smell a different perfume on him. A woman's type if I'm not wrong. I sniffed again and I was right, it was a woman's scent. I trusted Jax but I had to be sure I wasn't jumping to conclusions. “Jaxie? Did you change perfumes recently? I smell a new one on you.” I s
~Levrae~It was the first snow. I gasped in delight as I looked up to the sky and a giggle escaped my lips when a fragment of snow dropped on my nose. It was just the second week of November and it was snowing already. I heard that experiencing the first snow with the one you loved would make your relationship last longer. I turned around and spotted him getting out of a car as he bowed slightly to someone in the car. He told me of how generous his boss was to the extent that he always dropped him off because he was his assistant. Bosses like that sure are difficult to find. The car zoomed past me and for a split second, I caught sight of what looked like a female in the back seat. I thought his boss was a man. Were men supposed to have long red hair? “Baby.” His deep voice brought me out of my thoughts and I turned to see him walk up to me with a smile and all my worries vanished in an instant. “Jaxie, you're home.” I breathed and he nodded as he leaned in and brushed the snow
