CHAPTER TWO

Ethan

I met Mr Nwosu again after ten years, he use to work in my father's company before he got framed and fired, when my dad discovered the truth, he was called back but he refused, I met him again at a business meeting, he's my client's lawyer, he came with him to make a deal, we planned to meet later, now he's sitting in front of me in a pub.

"Mr Nwosu, I'm sorry for what happened ten years ago, my dad felt really bad about it, he didn't do that on purpose" I apologized to him

"It's okay Ethan, I understand, if I were him I would do the same thing.

"Can I make it up to you in anyway? Would you like to work as my personal assistant?"

"Ermmm, I believe you know I studied law in school, my father wants me to be a business man, when I read law in school without the consent of my father, he sent me out and said I can come back when I become a business man, I met your father and he helped me to work in his company without qualifications so that my dad will take me back. But since he fired me, I was called to bar and became a full time lawyer" he said with a full smile

"Oh, I'm so happy for you" I said happily

"I helped a girl to retrieve her properties from some greedy people six years ago, it was my first case and I won, I've won many more after that... " He gulped the rest of his whiskey with pride.

"But is there still anything I can do for you?" I pleaded

"Sure, there is, I'll be glad if you can hire a girl I know, she studied business in Western University, she is well behaved and you won't regret ever hiring her"

"She's already hired, tell her to come with her CV tomorrow "

"Thanks Ethan, I've to go tell her the good news, we'll see some other time" he said stood up

"Please do, see you soon... " He left after that, at least hiring the girl he's talking about will lift the guilt in my father's heart, I thought.

I finished my drink, on my way out I met Benita, she's a model and my fucking buddy, she's tall, slim, ebony, and a blond hair I guess it's a wig or extension. Also, she's extremely pretty.

"Hi Ethan" she greeted hugging me

"Hey babe, what are you doing here?"

"Just to grab a few drinks, you leaving already?"

"Yeah"

"You want me to come with you" she winked

"My father is in the country, I'm meeting him right now" I lied

"Okay then" she walked away hesitantly as if she knew I lied

I walked out, entered my car, cadillac XT5 and ordered my driver to drive home, when I got home, I showered and went straight to bed.

The following morning, I worked out, ate breakfast and left for work. When I got there, my secretary Felicity greeted

"Morning Mr Wellington" I waved her to sit after nodding to her greeting, I entered my office and started working on my laptop, I got a call from Felicity saying Miss Onuorah wants to see me.

The name rang a bell in my ear, but it can't be her, I told Felicity to tell her to wait a bit to finish what I'm doing. I called her back after 10minutes to tell her to come in.

After a while, I heard a knock and I said ''come in''

She entered and I got dumbstruck, it's her! The girl I ran away from six years ago! She's there looking like a super model in a white chiffon shirt, black tight pencil skirt that hugged her buttocks and a black shining heels, her long natural hair is shining and her lips.... Her lips that I've been craving for, for years in a nude lipstick, she looks financially okay now, She's shocked to see me as well, she closed her eyes and when she opened it, she wore a big smile as if she's seeing me for the first time.

"Morning Mr Wellington"... Her cold, calm, sweet voice sent shiver down my spine

I managed to put myself together and i told her to sit, I collected her CV and checked her name if she's the same girl, I saw Bianca Onuorah, yes! She's the same girl, is she a hooker now? She looks like a rich man spoilt daughter, I kept stealing glances at her as I thought of how she changed from the girl of six years ago into a a woman with a super model look, I saw that she went to Western University in Canada and I confirmed it, she's been out of the country.

After asking her a few questions, my heart hurt hearing her answer me "yes sir" I told her she's hired and I explained some things to her, I told her to go to Felicity to show her the office she'll be occupying, she stood up to leave and I looked at her from head to toe, she looks extremely beautiful in her official dress, I called her back .

"Errrmm... Miss Onuorah_ " I wanted to say something but I changed my mind.

"Never mind" I told her and she smiled again.

"Yes sir" she said and left without looking back

For the rest of the day I was uncomfortable, the girl I loved and still loves is back here, in my company to work as my personal assistant, when I left her six years ago without a word, I regretted it, I was tempted to go back but I couldn't, I did it for her, because I love her and I don't want any harm to come to her, that's why left, I was just eighteen then, I thought that was the best thing to do, I shouldn't have abandoned her, she trusted me and I broke her trust.

Flashback

Six years ago

I'm still mad at my dad for making me move to Nigeria from New York, my parents are divorced, my mom is white and also an American while my dad is a Nigerian, they divorced when I was ten, they had an agreement I would stay with my mother till I clock eighteen, i was born in New York and I grew up there.

He wants me to finish high school and go to college in Nigeria, Lagos state to be precise so that I can get used to the city before taking over his business here, I've been here a few times during summer holidays, I got transferred to Legends high school and since today is Monday I've to be in school and start all over again, making friends, getting to know the teachers and other things.

I sat on my bed for a while thinking of how today is gonna be, I stood up and walked to the kitchen, I drank a cup of milk and went to the living room, I looked around the house my dad got for me again and smiled

It's a very beautiful house painted in white, the couches are white, the furniture are white, it's all white, 4 bedrooms with each bathroom, a kitchen and a mini gym. My dad is a billionaire, he has companies, hotels, estates and factories in different countries but the headquarter is here in Nigeria.

Not that I've not seen houses like this before but getting to live on my own has been making me smile like an idiot, I can throw parties, invite a lot of friends over and have fun.

In new York, my mom doesn't let me do anything of such, I only get to have parties when she's not in the country and not without threatening the maids, Gardeners and drivers not to tell her anything when she gets back.

I smiled again remembering that, I walked to my room, had my bathe and dressed up, I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled, it's really going to be a long day.

I went to the garage, entered the jaguar I-pace my dad got for me and drove to school, when I got out and walked towards the school, the guys won't stop staring, girls won't stop drooling, I'm used to it anyway.

I went to principal Williams office and he handed me over to my class teacher, she gave me my schedule and showed me my class and i went in, I waited for minutes but it seems the class won't start soon so I brought out my phone and went through i*******m.

As I was doing that I heard a noise and looked up, my eyes almost plucked out of it socket when this angel entered, she has a long black curly hair, deep brown eyes, she's really slim and looks extremely beautiful.

I've never seen a girl like that before in my entire life even without make up, the girls in new York are beautiful too but not like her. I look at her very well, her brown eyes seems lifeless and dull, dark circles under them, her face didn't hold any joy, I got curious, I want to know why.

She rushed to her sit and sat down, looking like she just ran marathon and she's trying to catch her breath, she has been running I guess, because she was sweating profusely, she started searching her bag for something I guess is a face towel to clean her face and I didn't know when I offered her my face towel "have this" I said in my American accent.

After the class, I stood up and left quickly , I've no idea of why I rushed out maybe because of the girl sitting beside me, I couldn't stop staring at her and because of the fear that she might have seen me doing that, i left so that she won't bombard me with questions of why I was staring.

Since I was so nervous this morning and I didn't take breakfast, I felt that it impossible to miss lunch so I went to the Cafeteria, it took a while to get the place but with the help of a girl I got it.

As I entered, everyone went silent and stared at me, I went to the counter, I bought pancakes and soft drink and went to an empty seat, I started eating when a fair girl and a girl with brown skin asked if they could sit with me, I told them to go ahead and make themselves comfortable.

I looked straight up and saw my pretty partner sitting two tables away from me, she's not exactly my partner but her desk is right beside mine she has a cute doll face like Barbie, I smiled at my self, too much of Disney movies, our eyes met and she looked away immediately.

The two girls sitting beside me introduced themselves as Layla and kayla, they are twins, and they are very pretty, my kind of girls even though they are black, back in America, I have a lot of girls wrapped around my fingers both white and black.

I think I like Layla more, she's obviously flirting with me and I didn't waste my time in doing the same.

"So you said your name is Ethan and you just got here from America " Layla said with a full smile.

"I did?" I asked with furrowed brows as I tried to recollect when I told her that.

"In class, when the accounting teacher said you should introduce yourself, remember?"

"Oh! Yeah I got here about a week ago" I replied

"No friends yet?"

"Yeah, just got here today you know"

"Do you mind if we exchange numbers so we can hang out?"She asked

"Sure, why not?" I brought out my phone and i saw her widen her eyes, I can't blame her I'm using the latest iPhone.

We exchanged numbers and she winked before leaving with her sister, from the way people are staring at them, I can tell that they are the most popular girls in school.

I looked toward where my partner was sitting and I realized she has gone, I was disappointed but I finished my lunch and went to the next class.

I introduced myself in the next class just like I did in the last one, after the class, I met the coach of the basketball team and joined them, I filled forms and the coach, Mr Ronald welcomed me to the team.

If looks could kill, I would be dead by now, there's this guy that has been giving me annoying looks since I entered the school, while introducing myself to the team members I learnt that his name is Henry.

Like I care, I never cared, back in america, the same way I had lot of friends , I had enemies too, so I'm used to having people like him around, it's going to be easy.

I smiled at myself and left. I went to where I parked my car and drove off, as I was driving, I saw my partner in the rear mirror but before I could halt the car, she entered a bus, I sighed and continued driving.

When I got home, i ate and I watched videos on YouTube, I got bored so I went to the gym to work out, after doing that for a while I showered and went straight to bed, my phone rang and I picked.

"Hey Layla"I said and my voice sounded croaked.

"Sorry, did I wake you? you're sleeping already?" She asked.

"No, but I'm in bed already"

"Oh, okay, see you at school tomorrow then"

"Would you like to go out with me whenever you are free?" I asked out of the blue, I wanted to slap myself for asking her that, I still can't blame myself, I've never been this bored in my entire life.

"Sure!" She replied almost immediately as if she knew i would ask her that

"Okay, we'll talk at school tomorrow, bye!"

I hung up and sighed, I hope she won't slap my cheek when she finds out, I don't really like her and I'm just using her to be more comfortable in school, I thought of my partner again and I smiled

Gosh,I've been smiling a lot lately, I hope my cheeks won't slack soon.

I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep.
