7. A MOTHER'S DILEMMA

Sandy was passing near Lizzy's room in his home. 

Although they had not been in contact for a year, he looked into her room as he always did.

Today he felt something different when looked into the room. He secretly touch on the ring which he had kept as locket in his chain from past one year. Actually the ring was Lizzy's, the ring which he had given her on their wedding day.

 Lizzy had gave him that ring back on the day he gave Heaven to his brother without looking her feelings by pointing that it was all over in between them. After that she didn't tried to speak him or consider him as her husband. 

Though if they came accidently face to face and if Sandy open his mouth to speak anything she act as she didn't see him and went without giving a glance to him.

So Sandy just looked to the room from outside and went to his room to took some office files.

"Uncle, do you see aunty?," little Heaven who was now three years old asked in her little unclear tone by coming near him.

Her initial call of uncle name instead of father had paralyzed him at first very much, but now it had become a habit.

It saddened him more that she called Lizzy Auntie than she calling him Uncle.

"Isn't Lizzie the mother who gave birth to her?  Poor thing... how much was she suffering because of my mistake. 

How happy Lizzy was when she, me and Heaven were alone. The problem was that me brought them here to the family home. But l didn't think my family make her in trouble this much. 

l only thought that we and the child are in same family and there would be no any problem if l gave Heaven them. But...", he thought.

"Uncle...uncle", Heaven called again.

"Huh, my little one. What do you want?", asked him by kneeling down.

Heaven just pointed into Lizzy's room with a weird expression.

"Haa, come with me...we two can check", though Lizzy prohibited him from entering her room he went to her room by holding the little ones hand.

But he noticed that the little one also showing some resistance in entering that room. He understood from her eyes that his sister in law the new mother of Heaven restricted her also from entering in that room.

When he entered he saw the all windows in opened state. He wondered. He never saw Lizzy opening the windows after they broke up. He was glad she was ready to come out of that dark room as he expected. He looked her everywhere.

"Rosalia, where are you? Did you go there again?", Sandy heard his sister in law's roaring sound from downstairs. 

He gestured Heaven to go near her.

When the child reached in downstairs with a feared expression; Sophia, his sister in law grabbed the child and said angrily "come into our room, l want to make you bath...l don't want anybody's palm prints on your body."

"l don't want you", said the li'l one back with a shaky voice.

"Don't you answer back to me you have to do what l say. Now move", Sophia forcefully pulled her.

"You are hurting me mom. Please let me go", pleaded the child.

"Move", instructed Sophia again.

"l don't care. l don't want to bath and change my clothes. You already bathed me in the early morning", said the child in rough tone.

"Don't make me angry now", said Sophia and took the child in her hand and entered into their room.

Two house maids of there was seeing this scenes.

First woman (with a pitiful expression): " She made the child cry again. l have never seen her kissing and hugging that little girl. What kind of heart she have? 

Haa, l saw the child's actual mother Lizzy in outside in dawn. l never seen her in such a state. l felt she has decided something special. l hope it will be a good one."

Second women said,"Yeah, Lizzy was innocent. But you can't complain about Sophia also. You should pity her."

"Why?",asked the first one with shock.

Then she added, "why should l ? Don't you see what she does to the little girl all day my dear lady!"

"Oh, Sophia is not a bad mother honey. 

Honey it is not easy. You know that she lost her own child though it's a mere accident. lt occur due to Sandy's carelessness.

 She loved to hear so much that if a needle touched her finger she would sit all day along and cry for her. l think she scared to love the girl too much", said the second with a sigh.

"Yeah, it make sense as she behaves like this only to hear she does same to the Lizzy. 

But you think about Lizzy too. How she can bear this? Bullying her child in front of her eye. lf l am in her position l won't tolerate it like her",said the first.

"Look as l said Sophia became like this when she lost her little Rose. She can't show her love to this little girl Heaven because there is a fear of losing in her inside. Otherwise Sophia is a nice woman. 

Some people like this when they lose their children. Yeah, we can look for lunch otherwise she will angry to us too. It's their family matter", replied the second.

"Huh! it's a point. l think time will bring a great solution for this problem",first one said back and both engaged in their works.

Sandy looked her every where bathroom, shelf, balcony all area. 

He was sure that she's not going down this time.  

"Where is she if not in the room", he thought.

Suddenly he noticed a paper in folded state under a glass. He took it in his hand, he read it in a trembling voice

"Good bye, am going. Fear not, I will not die.  My daughter will come looking for me someday knowing that I am her mother. l am eagerly waiting for that day."

He seemed to cry at first but was relieved to remember that she had escaped from this hell.

On other side Sofia was taking her pills with a shaking hand by remembering what just had happened.

While she was forcefully taking out the dress from Heaven from their room, Heaven cried and said in a requesting tone, "mom l don't wanna take out this dress...l liked this very much...there is no dirt in it."

"Not you take it off l said take it off. Be quiet", she yelled to the child angrily.

At that moment a man in blazer who seemed to be fifty years old come there with a red face with anger. Besides that, there was a red stoned peculiar ring on his right hand's middle finger.

He pulled Sofia from the crying child and said with a irritated manner, "Sofia, what are you doing? You caused disturbance to everyone. For god sake move away from this child. "

"What is your problem?", asked her back to him with a frustrated expression.

"How many times have l told you not to make this girl cry and stop pushing her around huh how many times have l said this", he roared to her.

She also yelled back, "Your child is a cry girl. What can l do?"

The Heaven who was sitting in bed by hearing all this looked them with a fearful look. Now her cute face became red like cherries due to the continuous crying and scariness.

"Sophia, you are my wife and l know you very much. Take your medicine and go to the bed. You are worsening the situation. Don't make me angry again. Go outside", he said to her while taking the bottle of tablet from shelf and giving her.

She left the room with frustration.
