Chapter 11 Acquiescence
Lucas unbuttoned his shirt. He cannot see any end on what he’s doing. The number of clients he accepts remain the same, but the amount of his work from scanning the applications and going through each background just to make sure that the their wish will be of personal use for their sinful desires took a heavy toll on him.
He rested his back on the chair and closed his eyes, he cannot believe that his Father made him do such awful job but refuses to give him four arms and omnipotence.
A knock on his door was heard, and Zera entered, carrying a pile of papers. Lucas grimaced. She carefully placed the papers above his table, and sat on the chair.

“We should head back,” Lucas announced, looking at Selene who’s in front of him. The great weather from yesterday felt like they just have been given a chance to be happy for awhile.
