Chapter 14 The Devil's Root

“We should head back,” Lucas announced, looking at Selene who’s in front of him.

The great weather from yesterday felt like they just have been given a chance to be happy for awhile. The light rain outside made the surrounding all gloomy today. There is not much to do inside the hotel aside from their facilities for recreational activities like billiards, a library, a bar and a rooftop pool. Selene was never a fan of any of those.

Selene rose her head and met Lucas’s worried eyes, she is sitting at the end of the bed while Lucas is on his knees facing her. She just got out from the bathroom, tired from the endless puking. She feels dizzy and she wants to do nothing but to lay in bed.

“It’s okay, I can manage. You can go outside and breathe some air,” she said with a coarse voice.

“I’s raining and it’s foggy outside, and I don’t like being alone.” L
