Chapter 37 Proving Innocence

The police entered the room upon hearing that Lucas has finally awaken. They were in their armored suits, carrying heavy and deadly weapons on their hands. They circled around his bed, their number almost filling the small room.

Lucas glared at them, his jaw tightened as one officer pulled Selene away from him. Selene’s tears dropped once again, a stream of worry crippling in her chest. Lucas nodded at her and smiled to put her at ease, which he doubt that worked.

“How are you feeling, Mr. Lucas?” A man shoved the officers to the side, parting their ways as he entered. He was not armored and was just in a formal suit with his hands both placed inside his pockets. “I am so honored to meet you.”
