Chapter 40 - Present

Upon opening his eyes, Ryan couldn't believe what had happened the previous night… he could recall everything, yet it all felt like a dream.

… Jay, who was avoiding him at all costs, was beside him, taking care of him, and making sure he was fine. It all felt like a lie somehow…

Ryan was able to easily remember the warmth of the other male’s hand holding his, and although Jason was no longer there, the Human felt as if he was still lying next to him.

And, the mere thought of that, gave him a mix of emotions, both in a good and bad way inside Ryan’s mind as he remained stuck in the word friends.
