Chapter 3 - Jason
Words stuck in my throat due to my own disbelief. Those weren’t plans I wanted to add to my future… No with Ryan on them!
I disliked the mere thought about him back into my life so much!
I didn’t want his lips on mine, my fingers through his hair, or even his body’s heat against mine…
… I wanted it all to be mine…
… Damn, Goddess! NO! I didn’t want THAT! I didn't even want to see him at all, yet here he was annoying me with his uncalled presence when I assumed I would never have to deal with him ever again since he left without saying goodbye… Goodbye?
Ahhhh! Why was I even thinking that?! I didn’t care if he wanted to say goodbye to me or not! I didn’t care if he thought about me before leaving or not!
I didn’t care about any of this after he broke my heart before everyone, denying not only me but himself as well! He was dead to me!
Completely dead!
I didn’t want or should care about him anymore, and it was exactly what I was planning to do before Lilith suddenly grabbed my arm, stopping me from leaving the party.
“Where.do.you.think.you.are.going?!”
She spoke through their teeth, displaying a fake smile to the Human guest around us.
“We haven’t taken the family's pictures yet!”
Lily seemed to be very adept with the new political life of our Mother as she pulled me close as if she was going to hug her beloved brother before she whispered closer to my ear…
“Mom will kill both of us if you leave now, so don’t you dare to do so.”
… I wasn’t lying, she appeared to be born to that whole life of pretend and little games.
Lily didn’t give a damn if I was her older brother or that something was bothering me badly as she spoke to me.
She only cared about getting her things done to avoid any issues with our Mother.
And, besides it all, that was her great chance to promote herself among the high rank wolves of the Pack.
There weren't many of them at the event. However, the dominant members were, like our Alphas, and it was a chance she had waited for her whole life.
… Lilith always dreamed about a chance to become important in our Pack, even if she wasn’t the most powerful dominant wolf out there…
“C’mon,” once again, pulling my arm, she tried to drag me inside, back to that annoying circus of madness. “Let’s go back to the party.”
Nevertheless, I wasn’t in the mood to deal with any of that!
“Ryan!” I uttered his name in anger, even if I didn’t want to say it ever again, shutting her hand away from me. “Why didn’t you tell me that he was back?! Why didn’t you tell me a word about that?!”
I wanted to scream at her so badly, but I knew better than to ruin this important event for her and our Mom.
So, I whispered yelled my words against her, holding back the growl that wished to escape my lips the best I could.
“… you two met already?”
But it was all so useless when she gave me the most cold-hearted reaction back to me. It was like it was something she was already expecting to happen at any moment tonight, and it didn't bother her at all.
“Already met-” Lilith was fast in putting her hands over my mouth, pulling me aside as she knew about my upcoming anger before I could finish speaking. “MET?! What the heck, Lily?! Why didn't you tell me about it?!”
“Shut up! QUIET DOWN!” Again, she didn’t waste time to prevent me from ruining everything she worked hard for. “What else did you expect?! His Mother is also hosting this event! Of course, he would be here! If not him, who?! A ghost?! It shouldn’t take his place as her family?!”
Lilith hissed back at me so fast that it was almost as if she was rapping her words when she spoke them out.
“And why do you care? I thought things were over between you two,” she was cruel and she knew it as she attacked me exactly where it hurt. “It was what you always said to us; That you had forgotten aaaaall about him.”
I could feel a knot sticking on my throat, preventing me from saying anything back as I didn’t have anything to fight back that argument.
“Besides…” Lilith seemed ready to anger me even more as she let that word dance around her tongue longer than needed.
“Besides what?!” But, I wasn’t in the most patient mood to deal with it right now as I let a low growl out of my lips, “What else are you not telling me?!”
I could feel myself growing warm with bitterness, and not even the cold air outside was enough to calm me down due the mixed emotions I was dealing with.
“Nothing,” yet, it didn’t seem to carry the same importance to my sister as she didn’t mind anymore about my behavior or display of rudeness as long as we were away from prying eyes that she cared so much about. “I was just trying to say, ‘besides I thought it was quite obvious as I told you that even his sister came up from the States to be here tonight.’ So, I was sure you were already aware of it like us all.
Lilith was clearly playing with me! She knew I would be angry about it! She knew I wouldn’t have come if I knew he would also be here with his Mother’s family!
“And since Mom told me that you were dating and bringing someone back with you... I believed it was part of the whys that I didn’t see any reason why I should tell you about him.” Her dislike for Ryan was still big and bright as the daylight that I couldn’t believe she had done that to me… all due to that damn party!
“We all don’t want to hear about him as much as you, so that is no reason to say it out loud. You should have been smarter as always, and figured it out by yourself as it was no puzzle.”
… red…
All that I could see was red.
I wanted to jump on Lily’s neck right there, right now, and shut her up with my teeth on her throat.
Nevertheless, before I could have second thoughts about why I didn’t need to stop myself and how I should do it for the world’s goodness, I heard a familiar voice call out for us.
“Jason! Lilith!” The soft, yet powerful tone of our Alpha was exactly the same as I remember growing up. “What are you two doing out here? Shouldn’t you be inside with your Mother?” Neither Lily nor I answered his question, we just exchanged a couple of annoyed gazes between us, which appeared to be enough for his Mate to understand what was going on.
“Jason, dear. Can you be the nice guy you always were and escort us back home?” And by that, I mean by how he suddenly asked me such a question when everyone in the Pack was aware of how much he loved to drive. “We both enjoyed the cocktails your Mother prepared for the Wolves present quite a bit since we arrived, so I don’t feel safe to take the wheels tonight.”
It had been barely an hour since the party started, I had heard a lot from Lily and Mom in the messages as I arrived later to it as they feared, so it was impossible that could be true.
… our Alphas could drink quite a lot, reeeeally a lot, and I doubt that the cocktails that my Mother had prepared with wolfbate or something else like this, would be enough to knock them out of their senses in such a short time to make them want to leave earlier…
Nevertheless, it was the perfect excuse I needed to leave that event without hearing Mom’s complaint later!
“Sure, Alpha. I can take both of you home,” I couldn't tell what was the reason why they were truly leaving early. But, I could easily assume that our powerful couple didn’t need any of that.
They were already busy enough with the Pack and taking care of all the lands that belonged to us that this Human political situation was nothing to them besides a little side game to assure one of our members were among them, so they wouldn’t affect us.
Well, my Mom was that Wolf this time around, and they had anything else besides that to worry about. So, if they already had everything they wanted to see… I would be more than glad to take them home and not skip this chance to escape. “Luckily, I got my drivers license here with me tonight.”
… stupidly, I said… showing off my wallet before I rushed to follow them to their car…
Yet, who cares?! I was leaving!
I was leaving and it was all that mattered to me!
Chapter 47 - JasonFaster than my own thoughts my hand moved due to the unexpected action from Ryan, slapping away his fingers from my face, while my heart was still beating crazily fast by our closeness.SLAP! It caused a very loud and clean sound, surprising me, even if I was thankful that I had found this little hidden spot early as no one seemed to have noticed us among the performances of tonight. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you. I was… just…” Ryan started to apologize to me, but at the same time, he seemed lost in his own words. “Forget that. I’m sorry, okay? It wasn’t my intention to startle you in any way.” And it didn’t take long before he gave up and also ignored himself. “Okay… but don't do it again, not even my past boyfriends had touched me like this without warning me first.” Was I trying to make him jealous? I truly don’t know as the stupid words just kept leaving my mouth under their own reign. “Boyfriend? Are you dating someone right now?” But to my unexpect
Chapter 48 - PresentHappiness filled the restaurant as everyone there welcomed the arrival of a new year. Nevertheless, Jason didn’t feel the same delight as the others as he lost himself in Ryan’s kiss.… The Human had his hold tightly around him, while their lips seemed to try to morph into one…At first, Jason tried to push him away, and he easily could if he wished to with his Werewolf strength, but later, he found himself giving in and sinking into the pleasure of those familiar lips.… it was like having back something that he missed for a very long time, and he didn’t want to let it go again…It was hard for Jason to tell when the party started to stir up again. All he could tell was that the laughs and joyful chats got louder as the music played, almost as if both tried to compete in the same rhythm. It was a spark in the snowy night, body swaying, while his own was pressed against Ryan, feeling the other male’s body heat while begging for more.… Everything felt so right and

Chapter 46 - JasonMore than a New Year’s party, the silver strings and other ornaments around made me think it reminded me more of a Solstice or Full Moon events done by our Pack. The only missing thing was the silver Moon glowing up above us in the sky to confirm that I was in an Oak Woods’ ceremony instead.Yet, I wasn’t dumb not to understand why it occurred as they must have been most likely chosen by my Mother and sister, and their influence somehow created that ambiance that was so natural to our kind. After all, quite a few Pack members were there already, and some more would join us later, including the Alpha couple, so… it was understandable why they wanted the party to be similar to the ones done by our Pack.… even if I wasn’t exactly my cup of tea as I doubt it was as welcoming to Humans as it was to us...Nevertheless, it wasn't my business to care! I had more important things to care about, and my main issue was if Ryan would end up showing up there or not… My emotions
Chapter 45 - Past - JasonAlthough some Werewolves Pack did share their space and land with regular Humans, it didn’t mean they were welcoming them in among their kind. This action was usually used as a way to protect them, hiding what they were from the world and possible issues as hunters. They would share the same town, stores, and places, but the Werewolves would always keep their community close and the Humans away as if they had some sort of disease that they could catch.… and it was exactly how Oak Woods had always behaved as far as Jason could remember…As a Pack created by survivors of hunters' attacks, Jason’s childhood was spent with other wolves who always told him to ignore the Humans around them. They didn’t have bad intentions, but they would always tell him how wolves should always stick together and be there for each other.… Pups would play with Human children as if it wasn’t a big deal until another pup showed up and they went ahead to just play with each other only
Chapter 44 - PresentNo word about the fact that Jason had left the restaurant with Ryan had been spoken to him by his family. And, despite finding it quite weird, the Werewolf decided to let it be, assuming that whatever explanation Caroline gave them had been enough to spare him of any possible comment from Lilith.“Are you insane?! Are you truly going to do it?!” Nevertheless, he was starting to regret sharing his plans with Clarissa. “Do you know what the Pack will say?! Your Mother! Oh, Goddess! I don't even want to think about her reaction! She will freak out!”Jason was trying not to be so obvious, but he had started to pack the few things he had left around the bedroom since he arrived.“Jay, you can't lose another Full Moon with the Pack. It will make everyone think that you’re trying to become a Sigma, is that what you want? Do you want to make us forget you and leave?” The She-wolf was pleading, almost as if she was holding back tears as she asked him that.“…” and, for a b
