Chapter four

Avila woke up early in the morning to the sound of her alarm clock buzzing. She groggily reached over to switch it off, taking a moment to stretch and shake off the last remnants of sleep. She knew that she had a long day ahead of her, but she was determined to make the most of it.

As she got out of bed, she could feel the coolness of the hardwood floor beneath her feet. The sun had yet to fully rise, casting a dim, blue light over her bedroom. She padded over to the window and drew back the curtains, revealing the soft glow of dawn. Outside, she could hear the gentle chirping of birds, which seemed to fill the air with peaceful energy.

Avila took a deep breath, enjoying the tranquility of the moment. She knew that it wouldn't last long, as she had to start getting ready for work. As a personal assistant to Natasha at a beauty spa and salon, Avila had a demanding job that required her to be on her feet all day. She didn't like her job but she didn't hate it either.

As she brushed her teeth, she remembered how she met Natasha. It was a typical Saturday night in the province, and the club was packed with people eager to let loose and have a good time. Avila had just finished her performance and was about to head out of the club.

As she made her way through the crowd, Avila couldn't help but notice a group of rowdy men outside the club. They were drunk and causing a commotion, harassing a young woman who seemed scared and helpless. Without thinking twice, Avila marched out of the club and straight up to the men, her eyes blazing with determination.

"Leave her alone," she said firmly, standing between the woman and the men. "She doesn't want to be bothered by you”. Apparently, she knew the men and they recognized her as well. They were frequent customers in the club.

The men grumbled and looked ready to start a fight, but Avila didn't back down. She stood her ground, ready to defend the woman at all costs. Finally, the men stumbled off, muttering insults under their breath.

"Thank you," the woman said, looking up at Avila with tears in her eyes. "I don't know what I would have done without you."

Avila smiled warmly. "No problem. Are you okay?"

The woman nodded, and they exchanged a few more words before parting ways. Avila remembered feeling a sense of satisfaction wash over her - she had helped someone in need, and it felt good.

Little did she know, that chance encounter would change her life forever.

The next day, Avila received a call from the woman she had saved the night before. Her name was Natasha, and she was a successful businesswoman who needed a personal assistant. She had been impressed with Avila's bravery and quick thinking, and wanted to offer her a job.

Avila couldn't believe her luck. She had been looking for a way to break into the business world, and this was the perfect opportunity. She eagerly accepted the job, and soon found herself working side by side with Natasha, learning everything she could about the industry.

She smiled as she remembered every single little detail. Looking back, Avila knew that chance encounter outside the club had been the best thing that ever happened to her. She had met Natasha, found her calling, mingled with top businessmen and women, and gained a lifelong friend all in one fell swoop.

And she knew that she had been meant to be there that night, to save Natasha from the hands of those drunk men, and to start a journey that would change her life forever. Her only happiness was that no one knew about her side job as she tried to always disguise herself. Even Natasha had no idea about it.

The whistling of the kettle brought her mind back to her surroundings. She threw herself into the bathtub and gave her body a thorough wash. She quickly got dressed, opting for a simple black dress that was both professional and comfortable, with a pair of red heels. She ran a brush through her hair, tying it back in a neat bun. To her face, she applied Grabbing her bag, she headed out the door.

As she stepped out onto the street, Avila was immediately hit by the hustle and bustle of the morning rush hour. Cars honked and buses roared by, while pedestrians hurriedly made their way to work. Despite the noise and commotion, Avila found a sense of calm in the familiar routine of her daily commute. She knew every turn and shortcut like the back of her hand, and she navigated through the busy streets with ease.

As she arrived at the beauty spa and salon, Avila was greeted by the familiar sights and sounds of her workplace. The soothing scent of essential oils and soft music playing in the background helped to create a tranquil atmosphere, which was a welcomed change from the chaos of the outside world.

She made her way to Natasha's office, where she was greeted by a warm smile. Together, they went over the day's schedule, which was packed with appointments and meetings. Despite the busy schedule, Avila felt energized and ready to take on whatever challenges the day might bring.

She could notice the morning sun shining through the windows of the CEO's office, illuminating the pristine white walls and luxurious furnishings as she approached Natasha's desk.

"Good morning Natasha," Avila said, setting down a fresh cup of milk latte on her desk. "How are you today?"

"Good morning, Avila," Natasha replied, taking a sip of the latte. "I'm doing well, thank you. How about you?"

"I'm doing well too, thank you for asking," Natasha responded, taking a seat across from her. "I wanted to go over your schedule for today. You have a meeting with the marketing team and some partners at 10 am, a lunch meeting with the board at noon, and a conference call with the European branch at 2 pm."

"Sounds like a busy day," Natasha remarked, looking at her calendar. "Is there anything else I need to be aware of?"

"Yes, you have a one-on-one meeting with the CFO at 4 pm to go over the budget for the upcoming quarter," Avila said, handing her a folder. "I've also scheduled some time for you to review some resumes for the new VP of Sales position we're hiring for."

"Excellent," Natasha said, flipping through the resumes. "Thanks for your help with that. You always have such great candidates," she concluded.

"I try my best," Avila said with a smile. "Is there anything else I can assist you with today?"

"Not at the moment, but I'll let you know if anything comes up," Natasha said, closing the folder. "Thank you for keeping me on track, Avila. You're a lifesaver."

Avila stood up from her chair and walked towards the door.

As she left the room, Natasha couldn't help but feel grateful for Avila’s help. Having a personal assistant like her made her job as CEO so much easier. She knew she could always count on Avila to keep her organized and on schedule, allowing her to focus on the important decisions that would keep the company moving forward.

Meanwhile, Idris had successfully handled the problem that disturbed him the previous night. He was already making plans to head to Natasha's office for a meeting. After some hours, he finished a long and tiring meeting with some business partners in his girlfriend's office building. He felt relieved that the meeting was finally over and he could leave the stuffy conference room.

As he made his way to the elevators, he noticed a woman in the distance walking quickly towards him, her arms full of papers. He could see that she was struggling to carry the load, and he immediately felt the urge to help her.

As she drew closer, He couldn't help but be captivated by her striking appearance. Her dark hair was pulled back in a sleek ponytail that showcased her sharp features and high cheekbones. Her bright, expressive eyes sparkled with intelligence, and her full lips were set in a determined line as she walked purposefully toward him. Idris felt his pulse quicken as she drew closer, and he could sense magnetic energy emanating from her.
