Mr. Erik hurried down the hallway, his wife following closely behind. She clutched her purse tightly, her face lined with tension.

As they neared the hospital wing, Mr. Valtor stepped forward to meet them.

“You shouldn’t have canceled your flight back, Erik,” Valtor said.

“Come on, Valtor,” Mr. Erik replied, offering a small nod. “We had everything arranged. It’s only right that we come. Max is family.”

Valtor exhaled heavily, clearly uneasy. “I appreciate you both, will forever be grateful” he said, reaching out to shake Erik’s hand.

Mrs. Julia stood a short distance behind, trying to keep composed, though her hands trembled slightly by her sides. Her eyes were fixed on the hallway ahead, worry etched deep into her features.

Beside her, Mrs. Marissa walked slowly. She glanced at Julia from the side and gently placed a hand on her arm.

“He’s strong,” Marissa said quietly, just enough for Julia to hear. “Max will pull through.”
