Chapter Two

Aphrodite

“I’m Knox. We met on the day of your interview.” He answered, but I felt there was more to it, but I shrugged it off. I couldn’t remember meeting a man named Knox on my interview day, probably, I’ve forgotten.

“Oh! Nice to meet you. Although I can’t remember meeting you, but it’s fine. You work here?” I asked.

I could see Phoebe from the corner of my eyes face palming her face at the stupidity of my question, and I couldn’t help the blush that covered my entire face.

“I..don’t mind my question, obviously you work here.” I rambled, biting my lips nervously. It was a thing I had always done if I was embarrassed, or nervous. He stared at me before chuckling deeply.

"It's okay, I was just stopping by to say hi," he said with a grin. "I can tell you guys are busy, but could I get your contact info?" He asked without missing a beat.

I could practically hear Phoebe swooning next to me. She had always had a soft spot for men who were assertive and knew what they wanted. "Of course!" I said, giving him my contact, my hands trembling ever so slightly.

"It was nice chatting with you both," he said, before heading out the door. I turned to Phoebe, ready for her to gush about how charming and handsome he was, but before she could say a word, I put up my hand.

"No, no. Don't you dare," I said with a grin. "I don't want to hear a word of what you were going to say."

She put her hands up in mock surrender and mock zipped her lips. We both burst into laughter and made our way to her car. As we drove off, my thought couldn’t help but drift off to Knox.

Once we were home, we each took turns showering and getting ready for the club. As I stood in front of the mirror, Phoebe began applying my makeup. "I don't want much makeup," I said. "Just some lip gloss, and a little mascara." I didn't feel like getting dressed yet, so the towel around my body felt loose and secure at the same time.

"For goodness' sake, who goes to a club with just lip gloss and mascara?" she said, exasperated. "Okay, let's do this. I'll give you a natural-looking makeup look, with a little bit of coverage, but nothing too heavy," she said, picking up her Victoria's Secret makeup brush.

"Alright," I said, taking a seat in front of the vanity mirror. I watched as she began working her magic. Within minutes, she was done. I looked at my reflection in the mirror and couldn't help but let out a little gasp.

My dark brown eyes peered back at me. My lips were glossy and felt full, coated in a soft pink lipstick. My lashes were long and my brows were perfectly shaped. It was a natural, effortless look, and I couldn't help but feel more beautiful than ever. People had been staring at me since I was a kid, asking if I was real or an angel sent from heaven. I never understood why they said that - to me, I was just a normal person, nothing special. But now, looking at myself in the mirror, I understood what they had meant.

"This is amazing. Thank you so much!" I said, giving her a quick hug.

"It's no problem," she replied with a smile. "If I were a man, I'd make you mine in a heartbeat," she teased. "Now, go get dressed." She gave my butt a quick pat before handing me a white sexy dress.

I slipped the dress over my head, and the soft fabric slid down my body, hugging my curves. The low neckline showed a hint of cleavage, while the back of the dress was completely exposed. The hemline was just above my knees, and the whole dress felt more revealing than anything I'd ever worn before.

"I can't wear this!" I exclaimed. "I'm not looking for a one night stand. I just want to go out and have a good time."

Phoebe raised an eyebrow at me. "Trust me, it’s not revealing at all, now stop complaining, and let me get dressed. I sighed at her, before giving up. I wore the strapped black heels she gave to me, and it lifted up my small frame a little. Soon, she was done and I couldn’t help but thank goodness for the clothes she gave me. Phoebe’s dress left nothing to imagination, and I stared at her baffled.

"Come on, let's get going," she said, grabbing her purse. We left the apartment, and I followed behind her, carrying my bag. She had called Bianca to let her know we were on our way, and she said they would be waiting for us at the club.

As we walked to her car, I couldn't help but feel a little nervous. I was used to dressing modestly, and Phoebe's outfit made me feel a bit self-conscious. But I pushed the feeling down, and tried to focus on having a good time.

We got into the car, and I put on some music. As we sang along to the songs, I felt myself relax. The club was only a few minutes away, and soon we were pulling into the parking lot. I gasped as I took in the view. It looked more like a five-star hotel than a club. The building was large and grand, with an elegant facade that made it look more like a palace than a nightspot.

I turned to Phoebe, who was also staring at the building in awe. "Wow," she said, sounding a bit breathless. "This place is incredible."

"Are you sure this is the right place?" I asked, as we got out of the car.

Phoebe laughed. "Of course it is! I know it looks like a palace, but trust me, this is the right place." She gave me a conspiratorial wink. "I heard the owner is from Italy, and he's incredibly wealthy. He built this place as a personal playground."

We approached the entrance, and were stopped by two massive bouncers. They checked our IDs and then waved us through. I felt a rush of adrenaline as we entered the club, my heart racing with excitement.

The interior was even more stunning than the exterior. The walls were covered in mirrors, making the space feel enormous. There were VIP sections with plush couches and private booths, and the dance floor was packed with people moving to the beat of the music. It was like stepping into another world. I noticed that even though the music was blaring, I couldn't hear it from outside the club. The walls must have been soundproofed, which explained why the club never bothered the neighbors.

"Alright, let's party!" Phoebe said with a grin, grabbing my hand along with her.

Chapter Fifteen Thorne I watched as Aphrodite’s face scrunched upward at the sound of her fist hitting the employee’s face. She looked different from now, she looked lethal and filled with blood thirst, and I loved every part of it.She had two sides of her, and that made me intrigued. What was her story? I switched off the tv, and they turned to face me.“Anyone who violates the rule of engaging in a physical fight will be fired,” I said, rolling the seat slowly as I watched like a predator. Mr.Sam gazed at them with a disappointment.“Mr.Rocco, please it won’t happen again. Please I would do anything, don’t fire me,” the other employee said, pleading, trying to stop her bleeding nose.“I’m sorry sir, this won’t happen again. I really need this job,” Aphrodite said, her voice pleading, but not sorry. Interesting. “Mr.Sam, add to their workload and make them write a letter of apology,” I said boringly.“Thank you, sir. Thank you sir,” they both said, a look of gratitude both o

Chapter Fourteen Aphrodite I turned around to see who she was staring at, my eyes connecting with the angry eyes of the manager, Mr Sam. I averted my gaze, the anger still boiling within me. I wanted to destroy everything. Why was I feeling this way? What is happening to me? I don’t even know who my parents are, or who I was, so why did her words trigger me? I inhaled deeply, trying to calm myself down.“I said what is going on here?” Mr.Sam asked again, this time his eyes trained on me.“I don’t know. Ask her,” I answered rudely remembering the words she had said which got me angered. He stared at me baffled, everyone gasping at my words, but I didn’t care.“Mr.Sam, she punched me first!” Khloe screamed out, her hands holding her bleeding nose. I scoffed at her words.“You two, follow me to the boss office to explain yourself,” he gritted out, as he tried to contain his anger. I glared at Khloe, and Phoebe, as we followed him.My fist ached as the adrenaline started to wear off. I

Chapter ThirteenAphrodite Phoebe left the office after chatting with me, and I got busy with my work, trying to sort out all of the documents fast so I could go home and rest as I kept yawning, and my eyes closing. I sat in the floor, different papers and document surrounding me as I picked the one that were important and placed them in one side and threw the others away in the trash can I had drew towards me for easy access. A soft firm knock resonated in the room. I looked up from what I was doing, wondering who it was. “Come in,” I called out. The door opened, and Knox came in. “Hi,” I greeted, standing up from my sitting position. “Hi. You look busy,” he stated. “Yeah. I’m trying to round up so I could leave early,” I answered, giving him a small smile. “Oh! It’s lunch break now.” Knox said, as if to remind me of something. My brain clicked at his words.“Oh yes. I’ve forgotten, got carried away. Let me get my bag,” I said, walking towards my desk, and carried the bag. “L

Chapter Twelve Aphrodite We stared at each other as I waited for him to answer my question. “No. I only met you at the company. You must be imagining things,” he chuckled, masking his expression instantly making me wonder if I was truly imagining things. I giggled in embarrassment, my cheeks tainting in a little red. “You are right.” I said. “Huh….I’ve got to go,” I add, the atmosphere a little awkward.“Alright. Do you care for lunch with me?” He asked. I stared at him a little surprised at his request. “Just a friendly lunch,” he clarified. I scolded myself inwardly for thinking he likes me. “Oh! I would love too,” I answered. He smiled at me innocently, and I stared at his face transfixed. He was handsome, and manly, but not as Thorne. I frowned at my thought. Why was I thinking of Thorne?“Are you okay?” Knox snapped me out of my thoughts, looking worriedly at me.“Yeah. Just thought of something. I’ve got to go now,” I gave a small wave, and turned sharply to leave. The abru

Chapter Eleven Aphrodite“Stop,” his deep husky voice commanded, and my movements halted. I heard the soft click of his shoes. He stopped at my back and could feel the heat and fragrance his body emitted before he turned me around to face him, his hands holding both my arms. My heart raced so fast, and I was sure he could hear the loud thump of it. “What…are you doing?” I asked, struggling to get away from him. His presence was too domineering. “Aphrodite. A perfect name for a seductress like you,” he muttered. My eyes widened at his words, and I knew he remembered me. “Please, last night was a mistake.” I muttered, standing still as I noticed struggling with him was futile. “Mistake, you say? I don’t think so. Good to know you still bare my mark,” he answered, and my mind furrowed at his words. My eyes followed his to see it trailed on my exposed breasts, and collarbone. Hickeys was layered on them, contradicting with my pale milky skin. I wondered if anyone had seen it apart fr

Chapter Ten Aphrodite Shit! I was twenty-one minutes late. I straightened up the hand of my hand bag as I placed my phone in it, and legs aching as I walked because of the vigorous activity of last night. “Beast!” I muttered as I wished for the elevator to move a bit faster. The movement of the elevator stopped, and the door opened, giving me a view of the conference room door standing steps apart from me. Inhaling a deep breath, I moved away, stopping the door from closing automatically. My heels clicked on the tiled floor, and I stopped, wondering if I should pull it off before continuing, laughing at my bizarre thought. I got to the door, rested my ear on it, but couldn’t hear a word. Moving away, I made a sign of cross before pushing the door open. It refused to open as I struggle between with it. It was heavy, and my small hand and weight did little Justice to it. Adjusting my bag well, I pushed forward with my hands. The door opened abruptly making me fall forward. Everyone
