“Let’s go,” Sara said.

I rolled my eyes as we left the library together.

I was almost at the stairs when somebody called my name.

“Jordan!”

I turned.

Kevin was hurrying toward us, his hands tucked into the pockets of his jeans.

He looked different from the boy who had sat beside me the previous night.

His smile was easy, but there was something strained about it.
