Chapter Seventy-Two

Ginny wrung her hands together as she stood outside of Bernard’s office. She had done as she was told and went to meet with Ricky. She had swung by his office but he was there. She had even gone to his house but no one was there and the house was empty. 

Ginny was terrified of standing before him and telling him that she had failed. She knew him well enough to know that her failure would not be well received and could mean her death. With a trembling hand she reached up and knocked on the door. 

“Come in.” Came his gruff response. 

Ginny took a deep breath and sighed. Her shaking hand gripped the door knob. She turned the knob and poked her head inside. Her knees  knocked together as he sat behind his desk and gave her a stoney look.
