Chapter Sixty-nine

Bernard stood at his window with a crystal glass in his hand. The sky was overcast as the first few drops of freezing rain began to fall. His face was grim as he took a sip of the amber liquid. It burned his throat on the way down and settled in the pit of his stomach as it warmed him. His brows were furrowed as he thought about what had happened to Digger. He took a deep breath as he played the events over in his head. 

Somehow, Digger ended up in a situation where he had gotten arrested. He still wasn't sure what had happened. Digger couldn't remember remember anything either. On top of the issue with Digger, Santiago seemed to be having problems with the product that he had acquired. The only thing that made sense was that someone was helping her terminate her pregnancies. He swallowed down the rest of the whiskey in his tumbler before turning to face his desk.
