Chapter 6

Maybelline Walter POV

"Did I keep you waiting?" Lily asked as she pulled over in front of the gate where I had been waiting for her for the past five minutes.

"Not really. Just five minutes of wait," I replied to her as I hopped in the front seat of the white jeep she brought.

"So, how is your husband?" She asked and stressed the 'husband' probably to tease me, but I glared hard at her, and she shrugged.

"Did I say something wrong? Mr. Miles is your husband now, and..."

"Whatever!" I rolled my eyes and fastened the seatbelt. "Are we going or not?"

"Alright, my lady. I'm on it," She rolled her eyes as she started the ignition and the ride began. I had no idea where she was taking me, but I hoped for it to be full of fun. That was the only thing I needed right now.

"Why did you take the day off work?" I asked out of the blue moon, and she glanced at me.

"Nothing. I just needed some time alone," she shrugged, and I nodded. She has been working hard and she really deserved that.
