Raina POV

"Luke, please, it's been weeks." I pleaded with my husband as I moved closer to him and hugged him from behind with a smile, my chest and nose rubbing against his back.

He stiffened and jumped out of my arms like I had burned him, my heart tightened in pain.

'What the hell was that?' I pondered, feeling pissed as I blinked repeatedly at him, who already turned around to furrow his brows at me in confusion.

"What are you trying to do?" He questioned and I just rolled my eyes.

"Isn't it obvious? What couples do. Now come." I told him, trying to move closer again but then he took another step backwards, raising a hand to block my way.

"No way in hell. Have you seen how you look in the mirror?" He pointed out while wrinkling his nose at me in disgust and I gasped, looking down at myself.

I was dressed in a tiny singlet and bum short.

'I was sure I looked sexy enough so why wasn't he interested?' I pondered.

"You have such a terrible figure, your breast is saggy underneath the baggy singlet and the bum short barely contains your fat waist." He insluted and rage ran through my veins.

"Well, forgive me for not being as perfect as Jane." I spat out before I could stop myself and he raised an eyebrow at me before letting out a sigh.

Jane was Luke, my husband's fated mate, an omega who was younger than I was with a few years and had a perfect figure, unlike me who looked like a granny due to stress.

My husband saved her some weeks back and with the way he looked at her, followed by his suspicious behaviors, I had reasons to believe they were doing something behind my back.

"Can't you do without calling her name?" Luke growled at me, as his expression tightening while I just scoffed and folded my hands across my chest as he continued.

"I have cut off all contact with her just like you wanted so what more do you want? Can you please just stop throwing tantrums?" He half-yelled at me as he moved closer, causing me to flinch.

"If it's truly as you say, then why get so heated over me calling her?" I demanded with a scowl and he glared.

"You really want to do this again? Should I remind you of how you embarrassed me that night?" He pointed out, causing me to remember how I found out all about them.

Some nights ago, I was at home all alone trying to get ready for my next day at work without Luke home to assist me, despite my heavy workload.

I understand though, he had some social events to go to. Surprisingly I finished my work kinda early and decided to help arrange his scattered study, only to come across some bunch of letters.

For someone who mostly minded her business, something in me told me to check the letters, seeing it was addressed to a woman with love. I opened it and I remember how it felt like a knife had been pulled through me as I read the contents.

'My husband was seeing someone else?' I pondered in disbelief and decided to satisfy my curiosity and made an appearance at his party without his knowledge.

I always thought Luke knew nothing about romance because he barely showed care towards me, talk more of love and remembering my birthday.

But for this woman, he not only remembered but got her expensive things, and even took her out. Her pictures were even scattered in his drawers while he had none of mine, not even in his phone.

Luke really had some explanation to do. I got to the party and it took awhile before I saw Luke. He was chatting happily with his friends, with no woman in sight.

I breathed a sigh of relief. Perhaps I was mistaken, I was about to leave but decided to check in on him and moved closer but soon froze in my steps.

Luke's hands were wrapped around someone, his head getting buried in her neck as he laughed, a playful warmth I haven't seen in his eyes for the whole 7 years of our marriage glowing in his eyes.

My heart skipped a beat, before stopping as the environment suddenly grew suffocating, me finding it difficult to breathe.

'No, no, no!' I thought, shaking my head sideways. It couldn't be, I was probably hallucinating.

I tried to calm myself, taking a deep breath and blinking to be sure. His head was no longer buried in her neck, rather she was wrapped in his embrace, her head on his chest.

Before I knew what was happening, I lost it, anger boiling in me as my feets moved on their accord towards them. Luke was the first to see me.

I watched as the smile disappeared from his face, his eyes widening in alarm especially when I grabbed the glass of wine from his hand and spilled it all over the girl I recognized from the picture.

His friends around, all let out a gasp, some cursing while I gritted my teeth against one another.

The girl's face went pale and I was about to raise my hand to slap her when someone caught it and turned me around only to hit something against my head.

"Ouch!" I screamed, feeling my head ache as something warm tickled down my forehead.

"You bitch! Who the hell do you think you are to do that to Jane?" Someone cursed while I zoned out for awhile.

I took my hand to my head and dropped it only to see blood. Dizziness hit me immediately, my eyes suddenly feeling heavy and before I knew it, I blacked out.

I woke up to find myself in the hospital with my husband nowhere to be found. Rather, a stranger brought me here and it was later I found out that it was one of my husband's friends who hit me and didn't even know I existed, which was why he did what he did.

When I confronted Luke earlier, he went bonkers at me, saying the woman was just a platonic friend and I calmed a bit only because I knew he didn't sleep with her.

Because if he did, I would have felt it, and be in serious pains but I was not and Luke stayed at home more often, promising to avoid Jane which he did, but why does my heart still ache and feel empty?

  • Dear Ex Mate, Look At Me Now, I Now Belong To Your Alpha    Chapter 8

Raina's POV I sat down on the couch and decided to let the tears keep flowing out of my eyes. I used my palm to rub my temple trying if it would ease me of the pain but it's as if every minute that passes is only increasing the pain. So what's going to happen to the same marriage that I've tried very hard to make it work. Was it my fault that my mate had been indulging in an affair with another woman? Where did I go wrong? "It's all my fault!" I blamed myself.I got up from the couch, walked into the bathroom and took a look at myself in the mirror. I don't look attractive. I can accept that I've been so stupid and careless that I didn't put maintaining myself first. I recall how many times Luke kept telling me to hit the gym so that I'll look fit and presentable. He doesn't even go out with me and at some times I feel Luke finds it difficult to introduce me to his friends. He's ashamed of me because of the way I look, but who wouldn't be ashamed?I faced downward as I stated feelin

Raina's POV "Am I dreaming?" I mused. My face turned pale, as if my heart had been torn into a thousand pieces, the pain of being betrayed by the person closest to me too much to bear.I stared at Luke in surprise and wondered why he's hurting me this way despite how I trust him and always believed his words. He wasn't even aware of my presence. But why the hell didn't I felt any pain in my chest?I feel devastated. It's as if my world has come to an end. I've been betrayed by the one person I love.I feel like giving Luke a slap across his cheek because that's what he truly deserves, but will it even change anything? And what made me angry the more was the fact that he didn't even noticed that I'm watching him now. The both of them were so carried away. The sound of their moaning infuriated me, and I clenched my fists in anger."I can't continue to stand here listening to all this bullshit!" I snapped, calling out "Luke!" The moment I did, their intimate moment was disrupted. He

  • Dear Ex Mate, Look At Me Now, I Now Belong To Your Alpha    Chapter 6

Raina's POV The thought of what the man who just left said before departing lingered in my mind. The mention of dark magic? "Who was Cassie referring to?" I wondered. Am I supposed to be bothered about this? This isn't my business, and I shouldn't let it disturb me. Just then, I decided to make my leave. "Hey Raina, are you leaving?" Cassie asked me. "Yeah, I'm leaving," I said, shrugging my shoulders. Should I ask her who she was referring to as the customer who instructed that he should be contacted once the goods arrived? Would that be necessary? Not at all; it's best I just leave. "You mentioned something earlier about not coming tomorrow, why?" she asked me. I remembered telling her a few hours ago that I wouldn't be coming tomorrow, but I'd changed my mind; I'd come since there's no need to skip work for no good reason. "I changed my mind," I replied casually.I had planned to have a word with Luke, my mate, but maybe it can wait until the weekend. I came out and stood

Raina.I was planning to get off work at my next job at the grocery store when someone walked in. The last two days haven't been okay at all seeing Luke was still giving me cold shoulders. His indifference hurts as hell but the only thing keeping me going was the fact that he hadn't cheated on me and made love to Jane like I feared. If he had, I would have felt the pain and if he was going to, he would have done so by now so this only meant one thing. He still wants us, the marriage and me.So perhaps I have been nagging him too much, stopping him from wanting to put in more work. "Hello there." I heard a familiar voice and turned to see the kind-hearted man that saved me from earlier. This late afternoon, I decided to use my little salary left (after paying a huge part of Luke's debts again, household expenses and his luxury goods) to buy myself new lingerie that would fit this time.As I got into the store and was trying them out. A rude sales girl came to stand by my side, watchi

Raina POV All colors drained out of my face as I watched everything unfolding in my presence.'Didn't he say they were not in contact again and please someone tell me he did not break his promise and abandoned me there for her?' I pleaded to the moongoddess."Don't you feel any shame, getting together with another woman's husband?" Rita yelled as she pointed a finger at Jane, wrinkling her nose in disgust at her.Jane's expression tightened as she clenched her hands into fists, she was obviously angry but then when she heard Luke clearing his throat, her eyes dropped. Her hands unfolded as she pressed her lips together, blinking repeatedly to force tears, making little sounds and attracting Luke's attention.Luke immediately raised her head up to face his, drying her tear with his thumb as he caressed her face tenderly, something he never did for me, even when I was grieving over the lost of our child."Shush! It's okay, don't cry. She isn't worth it."Luke consoled me and I wanted to

Raina POV I joyfully did my morning shift that morning as I hummed the song playing from the speaker outside, whining my waist to the beat."I never knew a certain someone could be this joyful or even know how to dance?" I heard a familiar voice behind me and smiled.I turned around and saw Rita behind me with her eyebrows arched at me in surprise as she folded her arms across her chest."What do you mean?" I asked, nudging her with my shoulders as I laughed, my heart still filled with happiness.Rita's jaw almost dropped to the floor as she continued to watch me in amazement."So miracles do happen?" She asked but it seemed like more of a saying to me so I didn't respond and went about my final duty."I guess the other incident is no longer having a toll on you." She commented and I froze, my entire body turning rigid as my eyes dropped to the floor.I had told her about the Jane-Luke incident that happened that night. I was about to be sad again when I remembered what was going to
