I went to my bedroom feeling distraught and ashamed. I shouldn't have done that. He did not want me like that, he was just lying. I could still taste him on my lips, I could still feel the burning trail his fingers left on my skin.

There were too many things running through my head. I opened my laptop and I saw that it had several notifications.

I tapped on the email icon and I saw two new emails from Nathan and one from Camille.

My finger hovered over the touch pad, why would Camille ever send me an email??

I tapped on the message and my eyes scanned through it.

It was a very short message and it said only one thing. Meet me at Yara, it's a five star restaurant . I have a reservation there. Also, I have an important message for you. You might want to hear it.

Diana sat opposite the blue eyed woman who was her ex husband's mistress. The atmosphere in the room was charged and the tension between them could be felt from afar.

Diana could see that one side of Camille's face wa

Nathan He knocked on Judy's office and he heard her calling him in. He opened the door and dropped the documents on her table. She was busy working on her computer. She looked up and when she saw that it was him, her hands froze in the air.“These are the documents.”She nodded subtly “Mr Nathan, my bosses are wondering if such a delay is normal.”He didn't know that she had reported it to her bosses, he had specifically asked her to give him some time and maybe he was not specific enough but he was asking her to be patient with him. They were important investors and he could not lose them. They didn't need to hear such information. “No, Miss Judy. Things are just happening and it's been tough.”She tilted her head to the side. “What things?”He shook his head, wondering if he should tell her or not. He wondered if he should tell her about the divorce… “It's personal.”She nodded and if she was disappointed, her face did not let on. He was about to leave when he heard her call

It was a blink. All I did was blink and he shot me, he actually shot me. I screamed and cupped the side of my face. There was no way to tell where he had shot, only that I was in extreme pain. There was a loudness in my ear that made me deaf, I could not hear anything but a loud buzzing sound. I felt strong hands grip my chin as he turned me to face him. His gaze was blank but more impatient than before. “Please, don't kill me, I have a daughter. Please, I'm begging you.” I could barely even hear my own words. There was a loud pop in my ears and I closed my eyes and held back another scream. “Your thirty seconds are over. Now you have to answer me truthfully, and this time around, I'll not hesitate to put a bullet in your heart. I'm giving you another thirty seconds to tell me what you're really doing here.”“I needed Diana to help me. I got locked out of Nathan's house and I'm wondering if she has a spare key or knows where they kept spare keys. Please let me go, please I'm begg

CAMILLE Camille had been sitting in her car for hours. She looked outside the window and yet there were no signs of either Jaylen or Diana. The house just sat there, like a majestic queen, with multiple secrets and no solutions. Camille was time conscious and yet she could do nothing but wait. She had never experienced such helplessness in her life. The sky was already turning orange and she knew that sunset was close by. She looked down at her phone and went through the Contact, she tried to call Nathan again but there was no response. She called his office phone and waited. No response. Fear had been seeping into her bones like liquid poison and now she was shaking like strands of noodles. There was no way out of this and yet she could only wait and hope. She did not want anything bad to happen to her daughter. Nothing would happen to Ashley! She got out of the car and headed to the house again, she tried the door knob but noticed very quickly that the door was bullet proof

Jaylen walked to the door of the bathroom where I could see him but his face was an unreadable mask. “I'm a surgeon.” he said“I know that. You've told me that, but surgeons aren't rich like this in such a short amount of time.”“I have other jobs.” he said with a shrug. “Okay…” I waited for him to explain but he didn't. He leaned on the doorframe, his arms in his pocket. “I'm just worried, Jaylen.” “Well, I'm a good investor and business man. I know how to make money, I've always known.” Yeah, he has. Ever since we were little, Jaylen had always been the one to flip whatever allowance we had and double it. He could make deals that were enticing, he could make you want any product, hell, he could sell you a stick from the ground and make it seem like an ancient artifact. I used to be so impressed.“It's good to see that you finally put that brain of yours to work.” I joked and he smiled, the light finally returned to his eyes. “I can't wait for you to finish your studies so t

ARKArk stood in the bedroom opposite the house that Jaylen had bought for Diana. From his research, the house belonged to Diana's grandfather and had been passed down to her mother but due to her health complications, she had to sell the house for money. Jaylen had paid a lot of money to get the house back because the new owners weren't willing to sell initially. Their reason was because they had already settled in as a family. But of course they agreed once Jaylen flashed wads of cash in their faces. They had taken the money and started a new life someplace far away from here. And then Jaylen had gone further to remove every trace of the old family and transformed the house back to how it was before Diana's mother sold it. It wouldn't surprise Ark if he found out that Jaylen put to memory every squeaky floorboard and crack the house had decades ago and then recreated it. Jaylen was utterly and completely obsessed with Diana, to the point that it was dangerous.Jaylen, the most da

CAMILLE It had taken me about thirty minutes to drive over to the location but it had taken me longer to muster the courage to walk up to Diana's house. The last time she saw me, I was crying that she had hit my belly and I was losing my baby. There was no how to explain myself to her.I had just one instruction and it was simple. Lure Diana to a warehouse located outside the city. It was not easy but it was not impossible either. If I had gotten her to come to Yara last night, then I could get her to come with me. I just had to lie and say the right words. I kept thinking of Ashley, I couldn't stop thinking of my baby. I wanted her to be safe. If I had known, I would have packed our bags and taken her away from here this morning. Only if I had the money to start afresh. Tears streamed down my face, blocking my view of the house. The house itself was beautiful. The kind that people dreamed of living with their family. The neighbourhood was quiet, you could leave your child to play
