Tyler's POV

No one had ever spoken to me like that before. It was believed that I could always have what I wanted however I place my order.

She exuded a fierce femininity, unapologetic and pure.

I was at peace, and it was something that startled me.

Suddenly her pretty face which towered over me faded out into nothingness and hands with claws grabbed unto my neck, trying to suffocate me of every last breath in me.

I choked, arms outstretched as they began to frail.

I couldn't possibly die in my sleep. And such a thing be recorded in history?

No way.

Perhaps this was just a dream, and I would wake from this dream.

A hand shook me, and my eyes snapped open falling on Suzzie.

Suzzie had a pillow to her bossom, close to her was Leonard Twain fawning down at me.

"This is not a suitable sleeping position, Tyler," he smiled widely. "But I suppose you're one of the most stubborn man I've ever come across."

I let out a groan.

Leonard's gaze shifted towards Suzzie then back at me. "Now, you didn't mention you would be having a new caregiver. You were supposed to be coming in for therapy."

"He didn't mention anything about that to me," Suzzie arched her brows.

"It's usually every Wednesday, but he wants me here instead to which I told him it wouldn't help his healing process." Leonard put in.

Suzzie eyed me from where I sat. "We can make an adjustment to that, can't we, Tyler?" Her gaze landed on me.

My fingers tweaked on my laps to which I quickly clasped. She was intentionally doing this - certainly making the room uncomfortable for me.

I coughed, pulling Leonard's curious eyes on me. "Sure, we can make it happen."

Leonard let out a scoff in surprise to that.

Suzzie smiled at that before she finally excusing herself, taking the empty dish with her.

"Now, that's somebody that is different, who's she?" Leonard came close to me.

My gaze squinted at him. "She's my caregiver."

"No, not that. You know what I mean, Tyler. No one had ever had a hold on you like that. Everyone knows you always want it your way, including your mother."

Twain was right. He indeed knew me to an extent, he was our family doctor. His father was my father's doctor until his father demise, Twain likewise also became my doctor.

"Who's she?" He persisted.

"She's a farmer daughter, Suzzie Meyer is her name. You can go over her and ask her yourself." I gritted my teeth.

He let out a laugh. "She'd already introduced herself to me. I just needed you to confirm all that she'd said." He slapped my arm as he started checking my vitals.

"She sure looks like a girl that could push you into walking again." Twain added.

This time, I let out a laugh. "You said yourself that I may never be able to walk again."

He gawked down at me. "I never said never. There's every possibility that you can walk again. You have no damaged bones after all."

Suzzie came into the room again, this time, her hair was let down.

"Miss Suzzie Meyers, I'm quite glad that Mr Skyler here is coming out of his cave. Can you believe that I just heard him laugh for the very first time in three weeks?"

"Every stages has her own course," her eyes fell on me as her fingers combed through her hair.

The way she did that, without mindful of any incoming outbursts from me. Was I finding her extremely beautiful?

She was so carefree. I had seen her dancing earlier - she literally hadn't cared for a music playing at the background.

She had thrown all her worries to the wind and let herself immerse in the joys of the present.

Yet, she was surprisingly strict and firm in her judgement whenever the time called for.

"And a phase yet new is what Mr Skyler here is embracing." Suzzie finished with a smile.

Twain's face stretched into the brightest of all smiles. "What school of nursing did you graduated from, Miss Meyer?"

I noticed she cleared her throat before she replied. "Caribbean school of nursing."

"What year did you graduate?" Twain pushed further.

Her tongue flickered across her lips. Was she tensed by the question?

"Are you unsure about my qualification as a nurse?" She tried a smile.

Twain laughed. "No, not at all, Miss Meyer. You know for a nurse, you strike me like a poet. You will make a very lovely poet."

Suzzie bowed her head slightly as she let out a short laugh.

I didn't like where this conversation was heading.

Leonard was flirting with her right in my presence.

I slapped his arm, cracking him out from his ugly smile.

"Are we done here?" I questioned.

"Yes, we are," Leonard must have had an inkling as to why I'd slapped him playfully because he wouldn't stop smiling.

"Em..Dr....,"

"I'm Doctor Leonard Twain," Twain put in quickly.

"Doctor Twain, do you support the notion that Mr. Skyler can go out more often?" She asked.

"I am never against such notions. That's why there's a constructed therapy session for him. It would be for his benefit if his healing phase would amount to him walking again." He explained.

"Would?" She obviously didn't like the sound of that. "Well, I for a fact believes its quite near than ever if he agrees to everything that will benefit his healing process."

Twain's fingers on my shoulder squeezed me proudly. He had been an advert activist of my healing process, and no other person than Suzzie Meyer could do just that.

She had been able to prove that with her composure without doing a lot.

"You two are out here contemplating on my future as if I'm not in this room." I felt a need to say something.

Leonard Twain was obviously taken by her and I didn't like it.

"She's a good nurse, and I like her already."

"You can leave now, Twain," I said calmly.

Was I jealous of them trying to make a conversation?

It was harmless after all, but it still didn't sit well with me though.

Suzzie followed Twain as he gave her his card Incase of any emergency. I watched them linger outside for while before he walked towards his car, and drove himself out.

I waited, hoping she would return to my room.

But she didn't return.

Minutes crawled by and I forced myself to take the other side of the house to wheel up to her room.

"Miss Meyer?" The name felt so foreign on my lips.

I had never seen myself seeking out a caregiver and not one who had my thoughts clothed in doubts.

"Miss Suzzie?" I called again.

Silence greeted me.

My hand pressed itself on the door. The door creaked to an opening, and I let myself in.

My eyes did a rotation and caught sight of her neatly, folded undies which was placed on the bed.

I could hear the sound of dripping water, she was in the bathroom.

She struck me as a neat person, and I didn't realize when my hand picked up her brassieres, turn it over for a much closer look before bringing it close to my nose.

  • Deceptive Intentions    Lonely

Tyler's POV I led her to my study, a place I hadnt been to days after the accident that had nearly crumpled my life. The room was crammed with cobwebs in all corners as I would never let anyone in even for a cleanup. Suzzie pushed herself infront of me, quick to turn up the lights before she turned back to face me. "This was my father's study room before he passed away. He was much of a bookworm." I started. We combed through the aisle of shelves of books. "How did you hear about the job opening?" I asked her. "Saw it on an advertisement on television." She replied. "I suppose you must have known about how I came about in a wheelchair?" Her eyes fell on me. "I've heard snippets. Something about some distangled engagement." I laughed to that, something I had never done and her eyes lit up at my reaction. "I wish I could roll back the hands of time. And you're right, I should live instead of wallowing in self pity. I was writing a book about visiting Venice. Isabell

Zendaya's POV Anger swam gradually to the base of my throat but I pushed myself out of his room and returned to my room. $300 every week to endure his contemptuous outbursts? Was I in for his money? Absolutely not! But he made it miserably hard for me to literally fake liking him. How long do I have to persist in this act? I sank into my bed after presumably trying to call Mariana over the phone. I haven't heard from her in a long while. Father had advised that she was not to know more about me than she already did. So she doesn't even know what I was up to. My life was literally much of a fake life, but some things had to be done. The chirpings of the morning birds stirred me up from sleep. For a minute, I had completely forgotten where I was. I yawned having recovered from a moment state of shock, I changed into another outfit then started down the stairs where I started cleaning the kitchen. Tyler waltzed to the mind, and I snapped the memory of him away from

  • Deceptive Intentions    Wading The Waters

Zendaya's POV "You can take care of yourself like you always do. Don't know how long I might be gone." I scoffed silently at the words written on the paper. The words held no strength, that it felt to me that Mrs Skyler didn't care much about her son. She was only trying to put up with appearances. I shoved the letter into the envelope and placed it on the bed. When I was younger, I'd truly experienced what a mother's love felt like. Carol, my mother would make sure everything was kept in place, and no one would certainly feel out of place. As her name implied, she was truly a happy person. Even though, dad barely made enough, mother was sure to be contented with whatever he could provide. I heard a rustle emanating from the bathroom, and that pushed me into racking my knuckles on the door. I was greeted with silence. Tyler's silence only had me pushing the door slightly. His eyes shot up at me as my eyes studied him briefly. He had struggled to wearing his briefs
