Constant nightmares

I resisted and tried to run, but the force wouldn't let me go.

-Why are you running away, come with me.

-I don't know who you are, but go away, I don't want to go with you.

-You don't have a choice.

-Let me go!

The winged man appeared in front of me and grabbed me by the waist, the darkness dissolved and I could see his face. He tried to kiss me but I resisted and pushed him away from his grip.

-Don't resist, destiny is already written.

-Let go of me!

-You must come with me.

-No!

I kicked his crotch and he let me go, I ran away from him. I saw a light at the end of the road and thought that by reaching it, I could wake up. But the light disappeared and the same man reappeared.

-I'm getting tired of these games.

I changed direction and kept running while the being chased me.

-You will not escape.

I hit something, when I saw that there was nothing, I touched the air and felt a kind of barrier. I turned around to meet him and he came back around my waist to hold me closer to his body.

-You are mine now.

He wanted to kiss me and I wanted to resist again but he paralyzed my face and made me look into his eyes. His gaze was penetrating and full of desire. I tried to regain control of my body, but it was useless, I was completely bewitched by the color of his eyes.

-No, no...

-Say hello to your dear husband.

His lips brushed mine and suddenly they stopped. Another man appeared and rammed him away from me.

-Morpheus, get away from my daughter!

-Who do you think you are to tell me what to do?

-I'm her father and you're going to leave her alone.

My father? Why was I dreaming all that?

-I thought Zeus had taken care of you.

-Nothing will stop me from protecting her from you.

-If that's what you want, I'll finish you off myself!

They started a battle and I took advantage of the distraction to escape. I ran off in search of a way out but there was nothing but clouds around me.

I kept telling myself to wake up but nothing was happening until my mother's call made me open my eyes.

-Daughter, are you all right?

-Mother.

-It sounds like you had a bad dream.

I hugged her crying and she tried to calm me down.

-What's wrong?

-Mother, I had the strangest dream you can imagine. A winged man was chasing me wanting to take me with him, I wanted to wake up but I couldn't and then another man appeared who said he was my father.

-Calm down, it's over.

-It's not the first time, it's been three nights in a row that I dream about the same thing.

-It was just a dream, don't make a big deal out of it.

-But it seemed so real.

-It's normal. Once I dreamt that a cow was chasing me to eat me and it was so realistic that I didn't go near one again for a week.

-Maybe you're right.

But the dreams continued and I found it harder and harder to wake up, each night the creature came closer to me and if it weren't for the other man who appeared, it would have caught up with me by now.

I was sure that the man was a guardian spirit sent by the gods to protect me, but I was scared, I was afraid that the creature would defeat him and fulfill its mission.

I told my parents about it, but they didn't think anything of it. I wanted to believe that they were just dreams, but the strange thing was that they kept repeating themselves.

One night the being managed to defeat the spirit and then, it trapped me. I was vulnerable to it.

-Now that we got rid of that nuisance, we can continue where we left off.

-What did you do with him, where is he?

-All you have to worry about is looking beautiful at our wedding.

I broke free from his grip and ran away, the being was too fast and managed to catch up with me. It immobilized my body and made me look at it.

-No...no...

-Stop fighting, you're only delaying the inevitable.

My eyes focused on his gaze. I tried to break free but my face started to move on its own and my lips moved closer to his. I woke up just before I kissed him and hugged my mother for calling me.

-You've been so sleepy lately, you're waking up later every day.

-It's not my fault, it's those dreams, they're warning me of something.

-Again with the same thing?

-I know what you're going to say, but it's not normal, I keep dreaming about the same thing and I feel I'm in danger. That man I told you about, the one who saved me from the being, something happened to him, that being did something to him.

-Calm down daughter.

-I can't calm down. Now that he's gone, it will be easier for him to catch me and I'm afraid that if he does, I won't be able to wake up.

-Nothing will happen to you.

My parents continued to ignore it, but I could not be calm. Without the spirit protecting me, that being was going to catch me and I didn't want that to happen.

A tremendous anxiety took hold of me and I didn't want to go back to sleep. I decided to stay awake during the nights, despite how sleepy I was, I struggled to stay awake.

I got dark circles under my eyes and found it harder and harder to stay awake. The lack of sleep was beginning to hinder my work on the farm and I felt like I was living dead. My mood changed drastically and Sebastian noticed this.

He asked what was wrong with me and I didn't know if it was a good idea to tell him what was happening to me.

-It's hard to explain.

-You didn't sleep very well, did you?

-Is it that noticeable?

-Why can't you sleep, is something bothering you?

-No, it's just that I can't get to sleep.

-But I can tell you're tired, tell me what's wrong.

-It's hard to explain.

-I know I shouldn't interfere but it's wrong that you don't sleep, you're affecting your health.

-I can't sleep Sebastian, I can't sleep.

-Why not?

-If I tell you, you'll think I'm being paranoid.

He stopped tidying the barn and came over to me, took my chin and lifted my gaze to his eye level.

-You can trust me, you know that, ¿right?
