10. The Half Of It

I looked up and into a pair of grey eyes.

“Alpha Eros,” I said under my breath, and he took my chin in his hand.

“You do not wish to speak to me?” He asked me and I felt my cheeks and ears heating up.

“No,” I said softly, and his hand left my chin before he clenched his jaw.

“And how certain are you of that?” He asked me before he gently took hold of my hand. He pulled me tighter against his chest and I felt nervous butterflies in my stomach.

“Mia,” he called my name in a husky voice, reminding me that I still needed to answer him.

“I’m certain,” I said softly, maybe I should not be lying to my mate. He gently removed my hair from my neck, and I tilted my head to the side, his breath fanned my neck, and I sucked in a shivery breath.
