"Don't," he sighed. "I know that voice, sugar. That's your serious voice. Don't ruin the moment."
Indianna paused. "Greyson, I'm scared about tonight."
"I'm sick of hearing about him," Greyson muttered icily, but he kissed Indianna's forehead and ran his fingers through her hair affectionately . "Tonight is going to be fine. We'll get through it."
"Will we?"
"We better. Besides, tonight could give us the opportunity to learn more about Rogue and Stacey's relationship. We're going to need all the information we can if we're going to someone get her away from Rogue in the future"
Indianna stiffened. "To kill her."
"It's been agreed."
"Not by me."
"Indie, let's not argue about this-"
"If you think I'm going to ever not argue with you then you're delusional, Greyson Evans, especially when it's over killing somebody!"
"The majority voted," Greyson said. "It's happening whether you like it or not."
"The father of my children is not going to be a killer."
Greyson's muscles tensed and he sat up suddenly, looking down at Indianna with narrowed eyes. "Do not say something you're going to regret, sugar." His voice was calm but laced with warning. "You forget that many rogues have already died by my hand and I am not ashamed of that."
Indianna pushed herself into a sitting position. She met Greyson's eyes challengingly. "Stacey is not a Rogue. She is innocent-"
Greyson's eyes went wide and his face turned red. "Innocent!" He exclaimed. "God, Indie, just stop it! She's standing by his side blindly! She's not innocent! She's crazy!"
"You know very well what the mate bond does to somebody-"
"No. That is not an excuse!" Greyson snapped. "Look at Raiden. He chose to leave Brandon and they're mates. Raiden knew the truth and the mate bond didn't keep him with Brandon. He left him! Stacey is not innocent and I won't have you fucking defending her! I most certainly won't have you using our children to threaten me!"
"But, Greyson-"
"Indianna, I am protecting us. Our family. Our pack. I will do anything to get rid of Rogue. If you really think you're going to change my mind about this then you're the one who's delusional! He tortured me, Indie, he made you suffer the loss of a mate, he's committed so many atrocious acts! He deserves no mercy. I am going to kill his mate and then him. There's nothing you can do to stop it."
Greyson was angry. Indianna understood why. She knew his reasons and they made perfect sense, but the thought of killing Stacey made her want to be sick. She couldn't agree with it. She couldn't agree with Greyson. She cringed at the thought of Greyson murdering Stacey. She didn't know how she would view him once he had taken her life.
Indianna's stomach churned and she stood up from the bed, rubbing her stomach. "I need to go-"
"Sugar, don't run away!" Greyson groaned. "Why can't you understand-"
"I do understand, Greyson!" Indianna snapped. "I just need some space."
"She has to die so all of us can survive!"
Indianna cringed and headed for the door. "I don't want to hear it! I don't want to hear your reasons for killing an 18 year old girl! I never want to be okay with killing someone."
"Do you thinking I'm jumping for fucking joy at the thought of killing her?" Greyson yelled as Indianna left the room. "Indie, come back here!"
*This clearly isn't something we are going to agree on, Greyson. I need some time to myself.* Indianna blocked Greyson out and continued down the hallway, sighing in relief when Greyson didn't follow. A door opened a few meters away and Harry walked out, raising his eyebrows at Indianna.
"You know he's right."
"That's really not helping right now, Harry," Indianna groaned as she neared him and noticed Brooklyn in the room, sitting on Harry's bed.
"Harry, leave," Brooklyn ordered, spotting Indianna and smiling brightly.
Harry blinked and slowly turned to her, eyes narrowed. "Excuse me, babe?"
"Leave so Indianna and I can be alone without annoying, demanding mates," Brooklyn said and waved her hand dismissively at Harry.
"I think she should go back and talk to Greyson," Harry said, his tone clipped, and he gave Brooklyn a look which she ignored.
"Just because we have heightened hearing doesn't mean we always need to use it," Indianna stated, giving Harry a look.
He shrugged, not looking ashamed. "The Alpha has to make tough decisions, Indie. He needs your support."
"My opinion doesn't seem to matter in this situation so he is definitely not getting my support."
"Do you not even understand where he's coming from?" Harry asked.
"I understand why he wants too, but it doesn't mean he should!"
"This isn't just on Greyson, Indie," Harry said. "We're a pack, we're in this together. It's everyone's burden to bare, not just Greyson's."
"So you do want Brooke to be equally responsible for killing an innocent girl?" Indianna asked.
Harry narrowed his eyes. "That girl is not innocent. And I don't think Brooklyn shares your opinion on this matter, Indie."
Indianna blinked and looked at Brooklyn who squirmed uncomfortably. "Please don't give me that look, Indie."
"You think we should let her be killed?"
Brooklyn swallowed. "Honestly, Indie..." She looked at Harry, her expression looking somewhat pained, and Harry's expression softened only in the way that it did when it came to Brooklyn. "I think of Stacey dying and I feel nothing. No guilt. No remorse. Nothing. Rogue has screwed me up so tremendously that I don't care about us killing the only thing that he cares about in life. If killing Stacey means we can finally take him down then I'm all for it. I need him gone from my life, Indie." Brooklyn's eyes glazed over. "He has absolutely destroyed me and guilt over Stacey isn't going to stop me from agreeing with the plan."
"Babe, you've cried enough today. Let's end this conversation here," Harry said sternly and turned to Indianna. "You're on your own with this, Indie. I'm sorry."
Indianna sighed but she nodded and looked at Brooklyn who hurriedly wiped tears off of her cheek. "Brooke, it's okay," Indianna said softly. "I understand."
Brooklyn hiccuped as more tears started to trickle down her cheek. "I'm sorry, Indie."
"No, don't be. I didn't want to make you upset-"
"I'm crying left, right, and centre and it's getting really boring now," Brooklyn whimpered and she reached out to Harry. "I don't know how I'm ever going to stop."
"Indie, you're now the one responsible for my mate crying." Harry looked very far from impressed. "Please fuck off."
"That's my mate and your Luna you're talking too!" Came Greyson's voice as he yelled down the corridor. "Watch your fucking tone, Harry!"
"You fuck off as well, Alpha!" Harry shouted and looked over his shoulder at Brooklyn.
"Please can everyone stop shouting," Brooklyn called meekly. "And Harry come to my freaking side or I'm going to burst into more damn tears!"
"Brooke, I'm-"
"It's not your fault, Indie," Brooklyn cut Indianna off. "Go and sort it out with Greyson, you need each other today."
"Now, if you don't mind?" Harry snapped.
Indianna wasn't offended by Harry, she knew him too well now to take anything he said to heart, especially when it came to Brooklyn. She nodded and turned around and saw Greyson leaning against his doorframe, watching her with raised eyebrows.
"Are you joining me or am I going to have to follow you around the house, sugar?"
"Your attitude is not helping," Indianna said and walked towards Greyson. "You were listening, weren't you?"
"It's not like I could ignore it. You were literally down the hall, I couldn't help but hear it."
"Wolves are so damn nosy," Indianna huffed and crossed her arms over her chest. "I don't eavesdrop on people."
"That's why you're the nice one in this relationship."
"That's not an excuse to be an ass."
Greyson smiled and held his arms out. "Truce?" He asked lowly. "We don't need this tonight."
"I'm not going to agree with killing Stacey."
Greyson sighed. "Oh, trust me, sugar, I know you're not."
"Then we still have a problem."
"Which we clearly aren't going to sort tonight because I'm not changing my mind just because you're going to be annoyed."
"It's a little more than annoyance, Greyson."
"Can we discuss this after the shitshow that is going to be tonight?"
"You're not going to change your mind, are you?"
"Of course not."
"And neither am I. So, what is there to discuss, Greyson? We're not going to agree."
Greyson rolled his eyes and let out a long breath. "Why is what I love most about you also one of the most infuriating things about you?"
Indianna raised her eyebrows. "And what's that?"
"That you fight me." Greyson reached forward and gently took Indianna's waist. "It drives me insane, but I love that you're one of the few people that stand up to me, sugar." He pulled Indianna up against him and brushed her hair from her face. "We need each other tonight. Can we put this behind us?"
Indianna pursed her lips and sighed. "I don't want to face my brother if I'm arguing with you."
"Then don't argue with me."
"This isn't over, Greyson," Indianna said sternly.
"It is for now," he said and Indianna scowled at him when he smirked.
"Do you want to leave this here or shall I continue to be pissed at you for the rest of Christmas?" Indianna snapped. She felt her temper rising again and she wasn't sure if it was genuine anger or a mix of anger and hormones that were going wild during pregnancy. "Because if you continue to be an ass then we most definitely won't be calling a truce."
"I'm stopping," Greyson said immediately, noticing the shift in her tone. "I'm sorry, sugar. We're good. No more arguing."
Indianna nodded her head sharply. "Good."
Greyson softened his tone and reached up to gently cup Indianna's cheek. "I know I do and say things that annoy you, sugar, but I don't mean to annoy you."
"Why do I find that hard to believe, Grey?"
Greyson couldn't help but smile. "I don't mean too, I really don't, but I can't change who I am. Can I?"
Indianna raised an eyebrow. "You could try a little harder."
"Technically, I've got months of getting on your nerves to catch up on so I have more of an excuse to be the way I am."
"Don't joke about that," Indianna said. "Don't joke about being away from me."
"Well, if that's I guess you'll have to put up with me being completely and utterly-"
"An ass?"
Greyson tutted. "Myself," he whispered and kissed Indianna, bringing her bottom lip between his teeth and sucking softly. "Can you manage that, sugar?"
"If I have to."
The evening had approached.Indianna felt sick as she stared at her reflection in the mirror, and it wasn't from her pregnancy. She was dressed in a dark red dress and had a simple pair of flats on. Her ankles were starting to become swollen and she was not going to risk wearing heels. She caressed her bump and sighed. It felt wrong to be dressing up for an evening that she was dreading, but they had to continue with the facade. They had to keep Rogue happy, and unsuspecting."You look gorgeous." Greyson exited the bathroom, dressed only in a pair of blue jeans, and stopped behind Indianna, kissing her bare shoulder. "I wish you looked gorgeous under different circumstances."Indianna smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. "You need to finish getting ready, Grey. I'm sure Rogue will be here soon."Greyson closed his eyes and gently kissed Indianna's neck, sucking on her delicate skin, moving his lips up to her jawline, edging closer to her mouth."Greyson," Indianna whispered and leane
"Do we know what time he is coming?"At the mention of Rogue Harry slammed a glass down onto the kitchen counter, his knuckles turning white as he gripped it tightly. "Can two minutes not pass without the mention of him? We're going to have to endure him for a whole damn evening, we don't have to-""Harry!" Greyson said sharply, his voice raised and stern. Surprisingly, Harry stopped talking and looked at Greyson with narrowed eyes."What?" Harry spit out through clenched teeth."You need to remain calm tonight.""Calm? You're really telling me to remain calm?" Harry hissed. "Are you fucking joking, Greyson? After all that he has done you want me to remain calm? I don't know how I'm going to stop myself from reaching across the damn table and ripping his head off if he even looks at Brooklyn. Don't you fucking telling me to stay calm-""Harry!" Indianna shouted, cutting Harry off. She crossed her arms over her chest and gave him a warning look, looking far from impressed. "Watch your
"I'm not finished," Rogue said sharply. "Sister, sweetheart, keep your mate quiet unless he wants to be bound and tortured again."Indianna's heart broke, looking between Brooklyn and Harry, and then Greyson. They all had the same look in their eye. Part of all of their souls had been broken by Rogue, and no matter how much they tried to hide the side of them that had been destroyed by him, in this moment, it was all Indianna could see.In her heard she heard Brooklyn's screams, her cries and shouts that filled the pack house when she had her nightmares. She saw Harry's impulsiveness, his selfishness when it came to Brooklyn, his carelessness for anyone else but her. It was all because of Rogue and the heinous acts he had committed towards Brooklyn. Harry hadn't been able to prevent them, so he gave Brooklyn his all. His thoughts, his anger, his concerns, his sadness, his care, and his love. She saw Greyson. She saw how he had changed since he had come back. Rogue hadn't killed Greyso
"Tai," Ace whispered, tugging at Tai's arm. "Stop, please.""It's fine. I like that she's got flare. It's interesting," Rogue smiled. "It's not surprising that she's got a few anger issues. She must have so much built up guilt after everything she's done over the years."Tai gripped her knife and fork tightly, her breathing rate starting to increase. "Stop it."Rogue shrugged his shoulders innocently. "I'm just trying to figure out exactly who you are. I know everything about everyone in this pack, it's only fair I know everything about you too. Especially when you're a killer."Tai's knife and fork clattered onto the table. Everyone turned to stare at her in shock, minus Ace, Raiden, Brandon and Rogue."You brought me to dinner with a girl that has killed someone!" Stacey gasped. "Jason-""Sh, my sweet." Jason turned to Stacey, brushing her hair behind her ear. He smiled at her and it was the only genuine smile that Indianna had seen all evening. "I wouldn't let anyone hurt you."Sta
"Why?" Rogue taunted. "Can you feel yourself losing control?""Please, please stop," Ace pleaded with Rogue."But don't you want to hear about how she killed her father?""She did not!" Raiden cried, looking the most alive that he had in days. Tai's eyes filled with tears, but she wasn't upset. She was furious. Indianna noticed a shift in her and she glanced at Greyson worriedly."This girl seems to kill anyone she is close with," Rogue said. "I don't want somebody as dangerous as her around my sister or my niece and nephew, especially since she's hidden the truth from the majority of you. It makes you think, is she hiding any more dirty little secrets?"Tai shot up from her seat, seething with rage."Look at her, she is a dangerous little thing, isn't she?""Why are you doing this?" Ace cried. "You're purposely infuriating her!""She needs to leave," Raiden called, standing up and looking at his sister in concern. "You need to get her out of here.""Ace!" Greyson commanded. She was vaguely aware of Greyson putting himself between her and Rogue, but that didn't stop Indianna from staring at her brother who looked ferocious. His eyes were dark, teeth bared, face red and he was spitting blood when he spoke. Indianna forced a smile. "I would never."Greyson chuckled. "Are you not eating any more, sugar?"Indianna stared down at the food on her plate, feeling full. She had taken a lot more food than she could manage to consume. She shook her head.Greyson turned to his sister. "Has she actually eaten a decent breakfast?""Greyson, I've eaten!" Indianna argued.Kirstie rolled her eyes. "Trust your mate, you dick. She ate enough for a whole family.""Great. In that case." Greyson took Indianna's plate from her and sat down between the two girls, tucking into the remains of Indianna's breakfast."We better get organised," Mac said, running his hand along Kirstie's thigh. "We gotta a lot of men to get today.""No rest for the wicked," Kirstie sighed and jumped up from the floor. "Let's go tear down Rogue's empire, lover."Mac chuckled and let Kirstie pull him up from the floor. "Let's do this.""You know," Oscar said, furrowing his eyebrows as he stood up with Kirstie and Max , "you'd think th
DAY ONEIndianna was woken by Kal's snores, they were soft, but she had been struggling to sleep the whole night and now all she could focus on was Kal's heavy breathing. She sighed and turned over, trying to get comfortable which was rather hard with her bump. She was now looking at Greyson as he slept. He seemed so peaceful. His face was so calm and serene, she wished that he didn't have to wake up to the hell they were in.Greyson's eye twitched and Indianna knew that he was no longer asleep. He reached out, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her into his chest, resting his chin on her head and one hand on her stomach. *It's early, sugar, you should be asleep, not perving on me while I sleep.*Indianna chuckled slightly. *Sleep doesn't come easily these days.**Try,* Greyson pleaded. *It's 2am. You need your rest.**So do you.**I'm fine. I'm swapping watch duty with Oscar soon anyway.*The rest of the previous day was spent waiting anxiously for Oscar, Kirstie and Mac to ret
"Please don't call yourself that," Indianna said."It's true. I can't be trusted-""Would a monster feel remorse?" Indianna asked, cutting Tai off. "Do you think Rogue feels remorse over his actions?""That is different-""You are not a monster, Tai," Indianna insisted. "You didn't do what you did on purpose. As you said, you lost control. What happened has happened, it can't be taken back. The only thing we can do now is focus on the present. Tai, will you help us now?"It was a few moments before Tai acknowledged that Indianna had spoken. She pursed her lips and gave one sharp nod. "I need to wash this blood off of me," she said and turned on her heel and disappeared into Indianna's room.Indianna made her way to Greyson's room next. Greyson took Indianna's chin and tilted her head up. "Please don't be. You're keeping yourself and our children safe. That's the most important thing. Don't scowl at me, sugar.""You're important."Greyson smiled and kissed Indianna's forehead affectionately. "God, I love you, woman."Karl suddenly yelled from across the room. "They're here! Fucking hell, you took your time, lads! It's not like we're waiting for a psychopath to come and kill us or anything!""You just can't keep your mouth shut, can you?"
