Chapter 21 - Leader

Thail

The vortex spits me back into my world, but I'm not in my cave. I land in a heap of sand and struggle to stand. "I knew this was going to happen! Stupid, stupid, why did I stay in that world?!"

I look around me and realize I'm not far from my tribe.

"What the heck..." my eyes widen.

I live in the sand lands, but my tribe lives in the winter lands. It's not far from here, but that isn't the point! I'm worried that Talia might have been sent somewhere where the climate is too cold for her!

"I have to open a portal," I lift my hand, trying to create one, but gasp when nothing happens—I've run out of magic! "This must be from opening that first portal..."

I stare down at the ground, angry with myself. I'm an incubus, a demon that grows stronger from sex. Being around Talia strengthens me, but my portals need lots of magic. I can't make another because Talia and I still need to finish mating!

"Hey, isn't that Thail?"

"It is!"

"Thail, you're back!"

"We were so worried!"
