Chapter 22 - Lust

I have lost count of how many days I've been stuck in the wilderness of this snow-coated landscape. It's been at least a few days, maybe even a week. Either way, the surprising part is that I'm a survivor.

If someone would have asked me, a city girl, if I thought I could survive in the middle of nowhere, I would have laughed. But that was a month ago, and now I'm an expert.

Well...

I've learned how to make a fire, and while I'm hungrier than ever, I at least have water due to all the snow. I've also eaten suspicious red berries that didn't kill me, but I'm running out of them.

Rubbing my hands together, I scoot closer to the fire. I've set home inside some cave, and now I'm hoping Thail will find me. I don't know if this is his planet, dimension, or whatever, but I sure hope so.

Who else would save me?

I pout at the fire and wriggle my toes to keep them from freezing. The trick is always to keep the fire going, but the howls from outside my cave are worrying.
