Nothing but lies

Kara stared at the picture one more time before she gave back the phone.

"I think you can see at what extreme I am talking about, Mrs. Douglas," the man said, as she stared at Roseline, who was still crying. There must be a good explanation for this. She knows her daughter. She would never do this. And she trusts her a lot.

"I am sure, sir, there must be a good explanation for this. I trust my daughter; she couldn't do something like this." The woman said that, and a knock came afterwards, cutting them off.

"Come in," the principal said.

A woman stepped in, looking influential from her head to her feet. She looked like the wife of the mayor. She looked very rich and noble. She stared at the people in the office and even looked at her son, who was there with his head low. She wondered what her son had done now. She sighed and beamed out a smile to them all.

"Mr Hemsworth?" She called as the principal stood up with a smile. Kara couldn't help but scoff. Now she could guess that this matter wasn't absolutely her daughter's fault. With a mother like this, her son must also be like this. Those rich boys who wouldn't think twice about taking advantage of the girls because they knew they were rich and could afford everything But not to jump to conclusions, she had to wait.

"Mrs. Desmond, please take a seat," the principal said, as she stared at the seat and the woman beside it before sitting.

"What has Lucian done?" I am sure it was not his fault," the woman got to her conclusion as Kara and her daughter widened their eyes. What was this woman saying?

"Please take a look at this," the principal said, giving the woman the phone to take a look at also.

Mrs. Desmond just took a glance at it and returned it to the owner.

"So? I am sure my son wasn't at fault here. I am sure it was the girl who tried to take advantage of him because he is rich. She wished to benefit from him because he is the heir of the Desmonds' properties; everything the Desmonds own would soon belong to him. And what was the girl thinking? She wanted to take off from him." the woman accused with a scoff, and Kara widened her eyes in shock. What the hell was this idiot woman saying? What sort of accusation was that?

"What nonsense are you saying, Mrs. Desmond?" You didn't even investigate well and say good things about this matter; you just judged. What gave you the right to accuse my daughter of what I know my daughter didn't do?" Kara snapped at her angrily.

"Oh, so she is her mother. Well, I can't blame her. The daughter must have gotten her wayward attitude from her mother. I am sure both mother and daughter would have planned this; there's no doubt about that." She rolled her eyes, accusing Kara too.

"Excuse me!!" Kara snapped at her.

"Excuse me too. I am also sure my son wouldn't do such a thing. (I turned to the principal, who was speechless and unable to say anything to the two adults.) If I asked my son, he would tell the truth. And I am sure my son is innocent, right, Lucian?" She questioned the boy, who lifted his head slowly to look at his mother. His mother was wrong, but he wouldn't take it when he spoke the truth about this matter. He would be punished so much that he would wish to die. So he lowered his head, letting his mother say everything she had to say.

"Okay, this is a big offense, ma'am. And I really want the truth to set this off."

"Then the real culprit should be expelled from the school. Her daughter should have taken advantage of my son. So she should be the one to be expelled.'

"What in the world are you saying, Mrs. Desmond?" Kara yelled at her.

"Exactly the truth. This is the way this matter can be settled. And I trust my son; he wouldn't do such a thing."

"And I also trust my daughter on this; she can't and wouldn't do such a thing." Kara fired back.

"Okay, okay, to clear this case, let's ask the boy, shall we?" The principal asked as they all turned their gazes to Lucian, who still had his head bowed.

"Lucian, were you the one who took advantage of her without her, or was she?"

"I didn't," Lucian replied, cutting the principal off. Roseline raised her head to look at him in shock. What?!! But he was the one who first took advantage of her. She didn't do anything. He was lying.

"What?!" Roseline widened her eyes in shock.

"Now there you have it; I know my son can't do such a thing. Now that you have heard from him, My son would never ruin the image of his family at this young age. He is too small for such an accusation. I am sure the thug of her daughter was the one behind it, and that's the real truth."

"No, that's not true. Lucian, why are you lying? Why can't you say the truth?" Roseline questioned, with tears falling from her eyes uncontrollably.

She doesn't know why he was blaming her for what she didn't do. He was lying, and she hates lies. Especially when someone lied to her.

"She was the one who took advantage of me instead. I did nothing wrong. She is the one who is supposed to get punished, not me. I won't do something such as that to spoil my family's reputation," he said softly and gently, like he really wasn't the one at fault.

"Lucian!!" Roseline rose up angrily. She glared at Lucian with tears falling from her eyes. Lucian turned his head to take a glance at her, and seeing that she was crying so hard, he lowered his head in shame. He pitied Roseline, but he cared about himself more. He wouldn't want himself punished by his mother, as she was the most brutal ever. She might send him away or do something bad to him.
