Delanie also got off bed and stood up to stretch.
"I have to take a bath first before going anywhere." Delanie said.
"This is serious Delanie. No time for baths. Take this." Mom said, shoving Delanie's luggage into her hands and mine into my own hands.
She rushed out of our room and we followed her from behind as quickly as we could.
"Mom
"Could you please explain what is going on?" I asked her.
"Not now sweetie." Mom said and opened the front door but only to bump into uncle Gavin.
Mom almost fell on her butt but I wedged her from behind just in time.
"I never thought you would so much be in a hurry to follow orders." Uncle Gavin said to mom.
"Stay out of my way you freak." Mom replied uncle Gavin.
"Freak? Oh dear sister in-law. Is that any way to speak to your late husband's brother? Oh, I forgot. He's dead so of course it's an opportunity for your true colours to come out." Uncle Gavin stated, causing my to gibe him a slap across the cheek.
Uncle Gavin was about to speak up but drew his attention to the luggages we were holding.
"Since when did you have that much clothes?" Uncle Gavin asked.
That was the moment I actually noticed the size of the luggage mom took out for herself. She had many clothes but not that much.
"Empty the luggages." Uncle Gavin ordered.
"You can't tell me what to do." Mom opposed.
"Think again woman." Uncle Gavin said and snapped his fingers.
Two men in black suits appeared from behind uncle Gavin and walked into the house, causing me, Delanie and mom to walk backwards.
"Empty her bags." Uncle Gavin ordered the two men.
One of the men yanked the bag off mom's hands. While she was still struggling to get it back from him, the second man grabbed of mom.
"Hey! Let go of our mom!" I shouted but what could I do against such huge men? I was about to think of a way to help but before I got to do so, a sound distracted me.
The first man had emptied mom's bag and found gold in it. Just one block of gold.
My eyes widened in surprise. Where did mom get such a huge...
"So now you want to steal from your late husband's family?" Uncle Gavin said.
"At least now I know where I got my bad habit from." Delanie said.
"Throw them all out." Uncle told one of the men after he walked fully into the house.
"And you." he said to the second man.
"Get that gold wrapped and put it in my car." Uncle ordered.
"Yes sir." The man replied.
Mom, Delanie, and I were pushed out of the house and our bags were thrown at us.
We picked up ours while mom gathered hers. I bent down to help her.
"Thank you." She said to me.
"Mom? Why did you steal?" I asked her.
"We needed a shelter Melanie. That gold would have gotten us enough to buy a house and other things but I wad caught." Mom answered.
"Oh look, I got her greedy genes too." Delanie said.
"Why don't you just shut up Delanie? At least mom had a good reason but you just do stupid things for stupid reasons." I said to Delanie.
"Survival of the fittest sis." Delanie said to me.
"So where are we going?" Delanie asked, after I was done helping mom.
Mom carried her bag and answered Delanie.
"To the bar." Mom said.
"To that same rotten bar you work in? No way. I hate that place." Delanie complained.
"It's not like we have any other choice." I said to Delanie.
"Oh, we do. Actually, scratch that. The right thing for me to say is, I do. I have a choice. See you two later or never." Delanie said, walking away from us and waving her hand in the air without looking back.
"Where are you going Delanie?" Mom asked her.
"Far away from poverty. I'm going to stay with my friends. The same usual place I go. Don't bother looking for me." Delanie answered and continued to move till she was out of site.
I could see the sadness and disappointment in mom's eyes but I chose to stay quiet.
"You people are still here? Vacate this place immediately." Uncle Gavin said to us after stepping out of the house.
I and my mother started walking to her work place. It took us some time but we finally reached there feeling very tired from the long walk.
The bar was only just opening and we walked in to meet mom's boss.
There was a small office deeper inside the bar. I and my mom went in and luckily for us the boss was around.
"Good day Mr Levinson." My mom greeted.
"Good day Barbra. What brings you here so early in the morning?" Mr Levinson asked mom.
"I'm really in a deep problem sir and I was wondering if you could help both I and my daughter." Mom said.
Mr Levinson took a look at me from top to bottom even if he was still sitting.
"Good day sir." I greeted.
"Good day. How are you this fine morning?" Mr Levinson asked me.
"Good." I answered.
"What seems to be the problem?" He asked my mom, turning his attention to her.
"Sir, you see, we were kicked out of the place which we lived. Now we have no home and I was wondering...
" Hold it right there."Mr Levinson spoke up, interrupting mom.
"I hope you are not implying that I give you a place to stay. I have a wife and kids and can not do that." Mr Levinson added.
"Oh no, that's not it sir. I would never intrude in your personal live." Mom said to him.
"Then what do you want?" Mr Levinson asked mom.
"To live here in the bar." Mom answered.
"Are you out of your wits woman? How do you expect me to let you live in a bar? My bar?" Mr Levinson questioned.
73"So what you are saying is that Helen used a spell to capture Kyle? It wasn't like it was bound to happen to whoever gives her the crystal ball?" I asked."Yes. So now we need to find Helen and get the crystal ball back." Denver said. "You said you weren't sure if it would work. You sound pretty sure to me." I said to Denver."I sound sure because that seems to me like the only logical way to get Kyle out. I said i'm not sure because it wasn't exactly said, the way to release him." Denver said."There's a way to get Kyle back?"We both turned to see Delanie standing not so far from us."You found a way to bring him back and you both wanted to keep it a secret from me? What did you want? For me to continue wallowing in drepression?" Delanie said to us."It's not what you think Delanie. Denver was just worried about you. He isn't sure if breaking the crystal ball is the way to get Kyle out of it." I said to Delanie."Fine." Delanie said. "But don't try to hide such information from
72"So this was one of your foolish trickery." I said to Helen, angrily."What has happened has happened. How does it matter now? It's too late to go back now." Helen said and laughed.I tightened my fist, trying to control my anger."You can't possibly go through with this. She got involved. She tricked Melanie into it so she could have her way." Kyle said to me."I know all that but my word is my word and I can't go back on it. I have to do this." I said to Kyle and picked up the crystal.Melanie held me back. No! I won't let you go! I should be the one in your place right now. This is all my fault and I should be the one in your place right now." Melanie cried as she kept her grip on me from behind.I turned and hugged her for what I knew was the last time. "I'm sorry I can't stay." I said to her then pulled away from the hug. Delanie held Melanie close to herself and I took the crystal ball towards Helen and stopped right in front of her."So tell me... What is the truth?" I asked
71"No! Delanie please donn't do that!" Melanie shouted.Delanie made a zipping sign in front of Melanie and Melanie couldn't open her mouth anymore. Of course once again Kyle was the one who did it. "Under the condition that you will not harm me." Delanie said to Kyle."Selfish." Maco said."I like it." he added. "Where is the crystal ball?" Maco asked.Delanie stretched forth her hand in front of Maco and Kyle made the crystal bad appear on her hand. This was the moment we have been waiting for.Maco checked the crystal ball and seeing it wasn't fake he put it between himself and Delanie. "Now keep your eyes on the ball. Don't get distracted." Maco said.Still invisible, I stood in front of Delanie just as we had planned. Maco's powers were transferring to me but he had no clue of it.Just when we all thought that nothing could possibly go wrong, the idiot demon I and Kyle had punched earlier ran in and happened to knock me over while I was looking into the crystal with Maco. I f
70"You said Maco was the impatient type. How come he hasn't tried anything?" I asked Kyle."I'm surprised as well. He didn't even ask for the crystal ball." Kyle said."Do you guys think he has something else other than taking your powers planned?" Melanie asked."Our situation right now is definetely pointing to that direction." Delanie said.I got up on my feet. "We can't just sit down here and wait for Maco to do what he wants. We have to at least try to escape." I said."It's impossible to escape this dungeon. I already explained it to you before." Kyle said to me."It doesn't mean we can't try." I said to Kyle.I went to the door of the dungeon, holding on to it's bars I checked to see if anyone was there. There was a single demon keeping watch and I signalled him to come over."What do you think you are doing?" Kyle came beside me and whispered."Just watch and see." I told Kyle. The demon came closer and I recodnized him to be the stupid on that Maco always hit for getting thi
69(DENVER POV):What is it that Helen meant? It could only be a life or death situation. I know that for sure. I shook back into my senses when I felt a tap on my shoulder."Relax. It's just me." Kyle said. He sat beside me on the bed. Melanie and Delanie were outside."Still thinking abut Helen's words aren't you?" Kyle asked me and I nodded."Unfortunately I still am." I said to Kyle."Well... You are not the only one." Kyle said and there was a moment of silence between us."Do you think we can actually defeat Maco on our own? I mean, just the both of us." Kyle asked me."Of course we can. I am very sure of it. We already made a plan didn't we? But..." I said and paused."Judging by what Helen said to us, I don't think the girls should be a part of that plan anymore." I added."Honestly speaking, neither do I." Kyle said."What are we going to do now?" I asked Kyle."One thing is for sure. We definitely cannot tell them that we are excluding them from the plan which they were to p
68"If truths were as sweet as lies, humans will always tell it but lies are satisfiable to those who tell it. Lies are one sided. Truths are beneficiary to both sides yet they are painful." Helen said."Is there a truth we don't know?" Delanie asked Helen."There has always been a hidden truth between you, your sister, Denver, and Kyle. A truth that will shatter you all completely." Helen answered."A truth we don't need to hear." Denver stated."What do you want from us then?" I asked, despite Denver's opposing the idea."I want Maco's head and the crystal ball." Helen said."A crystal ball, I can understand. Why do you need the head of Maco?" Kyle asked."No reason at all. I just think it will make a nice decoration for my hut, don't you?" Helen said in response to Kyle.Helen laughed again. Her laughter was so annoying that i felt so much like shoving ear plugs deep down into my ears. I haven't heard a laugh worse than that in my life."I don't think we should go through with this
