Luna's victory

Ava and Alexa watched in horror as I prepared to fight Camille.

"What the hell are you doing this for, Camille?" Ava yelled.

"You don't know yet? I am the strongest omega in the pack. Even the Alpha has awarded me severally. There's absolutely no harm in challenging the Luna when it's quite evident that she'll win." Camille scoffed.

"Are you out of your fucking mind? You're challenging the Alpha's mate bond? You cannot replace the Luna through some hideous challenge, you better stop this now. Lucian will be pissed." Ava warned.

Ava was right, but Camille was proud and strong headed. I could easily smell jealousy eating deep into her. This was finally the perfect opportunity to step away from the mate bond. It was obvious Camille was into Aiden.

I couldn't just walk away and lose the challenge, but I wasn't going to do that. I was not in control anymore, my wolf was.

I posed , ready to attack. Without further ado, I burst out of my clothes, shifting into my white wolf.

I could hear screams and gasps all around me. They were seeing their Luna's true form for the first time, and she was a white wolf!

"Good God! She looks very beautiful and powerful." I heard someone whisper, and I raised my head proudly. I had not shifted into my wolf for a long time, and my wolf was now very enthusiastic.

Camille had shifted into a brown wolf. She also looked amazing, but I was the boss now.

We growled and circled each other, waiting for the other to strike first.

Camille quickly plunged at me. I dodged her narrowly, she fell heavily to the ground. She yelped and licked her wound, rushing at me aggressively again. Camille was also big, but extremely slow. She could manage to knock me down, but I was faster, and I used that to my advantage.

She came again, and I waited until she was closer before I moved away quickly. I turned to watch her. She stopped, turned around and growled at me. I wasn't scared, and stood my ground. She kept coming at me again and again, and I kept dodging her. She kept repeating the same boring pattern, running at me, and stopping after I got out of the way. She also seemed not to be very smart. I noticed that all I had to do, was wear her out. She kept growling fiercely. And they said she was their best fighter? Really? If so, then they're toast .

She came at me one more time with mad speed, and tripped over a skipping rope. Unfortunately, she was big, but extremely dumb. I narrowly escaped this fatal move at the right time. She wanted to take me by surprise, but I was the surprise instead.

This time around I lunged at her, she moved aside but caught my tail as it swept by. I yelped and turned, then she let go of it. I crouched on the ground, and when she came again, I kicked her belly. She growled as my claws caught her soft flesh. I came up to drag her by the throat.

I opened my mouth and held onto her neck. I was not putting much pressure on it though, I didn't want to kill her yet.

I wanted to submit to me, and acknowledge the fact that I was her Luna. When I saw that she was still strong-headed, I increased the pressure on her neck .

"Now that's enough, submit Camille!." Aiden's huge voice sounded in the hall.

I let go of Camille's neck, and she stood at the spot for some time. I could feel Aiden's presence next to me. He patted my head three times.

"Let her be sweetie, I think she has learnt her lesson."

His touch was all that I needed at the moment. Aiden folded his arms and looked at us , amused. He was just out of bed, and hurried down here.

"Alright, everyone can now leave. Showtime's over." He said to the crowd gathered around us.

The people left, while he dropped two robes on the ground next to us.

"You can shift now darling." He spoke.

I shifted, and put on one of the robes.

"All challenges happen for a reason. May I ask why you challenged my mate, Camille?" He was now talking to Camille who had also shifted. The bruises on her body had started healing too.

"Anyone can challenge Alpha or Luna, so why was mine any different?" Camille asked.

"You cannot challenge a mate bond, Camille. If I ever see you trying to harm my mate, I'll make sure you don't live to tell the tale." He said menacingly, his blue eyes flashing with anger.

Camille nodded. She dared not defy the Alpha's command, and she bowed her head to Aiden in submission.

Aiden dragged me out of the gym. I thought he was going to scold me in the bedroom, instead he dragged me towards another area.

"Clinic"

Was inscribed boldly on the door.

"Aiden don't worry, I'm fine. I insisted. Why did you bring me here, you could see I have everything under control."

"The moment she challenged you, she also challenged my authority. Damon had to wake me up, why did you come here on your own? It's not safe you know?"

I rolled my eyes.

"I was bored, and you were asleep. I had everything under control actually, and come to think of it, what's her problem? Why does she keep coming after my mate?" I suddenly blurted out, and I saw the smile at the corner of his lips.

"Your mate? Please call me that again." He grinned sheepishly.

I blushed. I guess my wolf was in control.

"Don't bother!" I turned. Aiden laughed and followed.

The nurse on duty declared me fit to go. I didn't sustain any fatal injuries, thanks to our healing capabilities, my bruises were healing just fine.

Aiden was finally relaxed, after I was declared unharmed, and escorted me back to his quarters.

I noticed the people we met on the road, bowed their heads in fear when we passed by.

"You didn't answer my question. What's up with Camille." I asked as we entered our room.

"Well, I guess she thought I fell for her ." He looked at me, and mumbled sheepishly.

I raised an eyebrow. "Fell for her?"

He ran his hand through his hair and collapsed on the couch.

"When I was younger, I thought I was in love with her. Maybe she believed that too." He looked apologetic.

"Did you love her?" I suddenly felt a Surge of jealousy.

"I don't think so. She was not my mate, so I knew we weren't meant to be together. I once heard she was plotting ." He said with a smirk.

"I over heard her on the phone once, talking about how she planned on overthrowing me when we were properly mated. She claimed I would do anything for her as long as I was sleeping with her.".

"You slept with her? You should have let me kill her." I shrilled.

"That was years ago my love. I wasn't actually in love with her, and I can still see the bitterness on her face whenever she sees me. I have never told anyone about her plot. Camille never accepted the fact that we were done. By the way, you fight so well. Where did you learn that?"

I suddenly felt a tinge of pride as he praised me .

"My brother is an Alpha, and I am a Luna." I replied. "You look tired, why don't you go back to bed."

"Only if you join me." He gave me a sly smile.
