Dinner together

Aiden walked into the study/library, whatever it was while I clutched the edge table behind me with both hands.

I was scared as fuck.

He was talking to someone on the phone, and ignored me. I waited quietly leaning on the table, afraid to move.

He slipped the phone into an inner pocket of his jacket.

He then put two fingers under my chin, and tilted my face up to face him. He leaned forward and kissed my lips. I was not too surprised. We had already done more than kissing.

However, there was something demanding in the way he kissed. I tried to avoid suspicion by kissing him back, though I was trembling.

"You're shaking. Are you scared?"

I was not sure if I was to answer that question or ignore it. I simply licked my lips.

I am not scared, but I'm startled."

He arched a brow.

"Startled? Were you expecting someone else apart from me?" He gave me a sly smile.

I was very sure he'd be very angry and would probably strangle me to death if he ever found out the reason.

"Can't I get frightened sometimes? Is that a crime now? I have been locked up in here all day, and the first thing you do when returning home is to start interrogating me? I am sick of your overbearing attitude!" I screamed at him.

To my utter surprise, he only chuckled.

"Fine, fine. I'm not here to fight with you. Have you had lunch yet?"

"Lunch?" I blinked.

"Yes, lunch. Cause I skipped mine, and I was thinking about what to do concerning dinner." He said collapsing on the lounge. He looked tired.

"Why didn't you have your lunch? I asked him.

"I was very Busy working." He mumbled.

"Let's go out for dinner." He suddenly started smiling again.

'He's so mercurial' I thought.

"So what would you like to eat?" He asked with a heart melting boyish smile.

I don't know yet . You can surprise me you know" I smiled back at him.

"Alright. I am thinking we should go on a date."

I blushed coyly. I suddenly felt like a high school girl, going on her first date with her crush. My wolf was elated.

I soon found myself rummaging through my huge closet. Most of my stuff were already bought by Aiden by the time I arrived. I didn't want to appear too enticing, or too proud so I settled for a sleeveless black dress, which ended just above my knee.

As we left his room, Aiden's guards followed us through a dark coloured Maybach parked outside. I could not tell who knows inside due to its dark tinted windows.

"I am happy you agreed to join me for dinner today, blair." He said with a smile.

"Why are you even trying this hard. You're being too considerate.' came popping out of my mouth without a thought, as I took my seat.

"I am trying to court you. Perhaps I can win your heart.'" He said, with his beautiful smile.

I rolled my eyes.

Aiden had a little smile on his face, as he reached over and took my hand. He started to rub my palm, with small soothing circles. His touch seemed to calm my throbbing heart.

"By the way, where are we going? Remembering I had just gotten into a car with Aiden for a date!

" The club already has reservations for us. I am sure you'll find it interesting there. Did you sleep well last night?" He asked again with his usual smile.

"I think you already know exactly how I slept!" I snapped at him, my cheeks blazing. " We slept in the same bed for crying out loud."

He didn't ask or said anything further , and I regretted my action. He was being a nice and a perfect gentle man, and I was being a crackhead.

"Hey, I'm sorry." I apologized, guilt written all over me.

"Sorry? What for?" He glanced at me.

"For being inconsiderate and so obnoxious. I am not always this rude I promise."

"It's alright, I wasn't angry by the way." He beamed, pulling closer. I rested my head on his shoulder. It felt very good.

His grin was slightly evil as he inclined his head to the side. "We're already at the club. Would you like to go inside?" He announced.

He motioned to the two men at the front seat, and they exited the vehicle.

The driver took a slip from the valet, and opened the door himself, standing by the side as I slid off the car. He followed me quickly, and I could feel his arms around my waist.

Two valets were already opening the door to the restaurant for him, and acknowledged him with the most impeccable bowing of the head.

We were escorted to the back of the restaurant, to a secluded circular Booth.

"You look absolutely stunning by the way." He smiled, holding my hand. His eyes were dancing with some internal fire, and it made his grin look a bit wicked. I blushed.

"Thank you so much." I replied.

" I know you are not very pleased with me. I didn't want to keep you locked up, believe me. But given the circumstances now, I had no other choice." His voice had turned slightly into pleading as his hand came up against mine on the table. He gently stroked my folded hand, until he had taken one in each of his. Despite all the plan I put in place to spoil the date, I found myself secretly enjoying it.

"It's fine Aiden."

He continued to rub my hands and continued smiling at me. Our conversation was interrupted by a server demurely arriving at the table. She took our drink orders and walked away quickly. Ofcourse not, with out faintly bowing her head to the Alpha. She was indeed an omega wolf.

"Do you own this place?" I was forced to ask.

He nodded, and balanced the back of his head against his seat.

"Yes I do." He said casually as if it meant nothing, then interlaced our fingers again.

"So , what were you up to, today?" He asked pleasantly.

I bit my lip again, and gave a quick account of the day which was actually nothing special. He smiles at me as if I was narrating the most fascinating fairy tale story, while we continued to move our fingers against each other.

I had a lot more to say, but the server came back with our drinks to take our order. I quickly chose something, and she slipped away. The rest of the meal was bizarrely comfortable.

The man that almost scared me to death, the man that almost scared me to death, and the man I was trying to run away from was very happy to talk with me about the most common things. Aiden wanted to know absolutely everything!

Everything about my family, friends, job. He seemed genuinely interested in every thing I did through out the day. I have never told Olivia as much as I told him. His presence was unbelievably comforting, and I forgot how to be nervous. I even found myself laughing heartily at his jokes and swatting his hand as he playfully reached out to take a piece of chicken from my plate.

We discussed alot about my job, his work, his pack, carefully skipping over past traumas. Aiden talked about his family with so much love and pride. He spoke about how he missed his mum, the one who could not recognize him, and his sister.

"When can I meet your mum Aiden, I'd love to meet her." I said.

He looked at me surprise.

"She's not well. I mean she doesn't understand the things going on around her. She'd probably not want you close." He looked very sad.

Now it was my turn to hold his hand.

"I understand you perhaps. But I'd still like to meet her. Will you take me to her?" I asked.

"Sure I can" he replied beaming.

"You get dimples on your cheeks whenever you smile." I suddenly said out of the blue.

He flushed a little, which made me realize how vulnerable he can be. I also smiled a little.

"Do you like them?"

"Ofcourse I do! It makes you look a lot more cuter. They should also come with a warning sign : Dangerous! Could throw your world off balance, categorized as a weapon, proceed with caution." I laughed, staring into those mesmerizing eyes.

His hearty laugh resounded into the chilly night.

"Thank you miss. I'll take that as a compliment." He kept laughing.

"Aiden, I don't know if it's the right time, but I have to tell you something." I cut him off. I couldn't live with this heavy burden in my chest anymore, I had to tell him about Mark.
