Caleb climbed off the plane, anger seething through his whole body. He walked through the terminal to baggage claim. He waited until finally baggage started to come through. Getting his bags, he made his way out of the airport and to his truck. He spent the whole plane ride searching for whatever information he could on vampires. He already knew some of what he read were myths based on what Alaina had already told him. But what he needed to know, was how to kill them. He found several different methods, but there was no way of knowing which ones were myths and which ones were true. He couldn’t very well try it out on one. Unless, he thought to himself, he could find a way to weaken one enough to keep it captive until he could figure out how to kill it. Caleb woke up the next morning and he thought for sure that his head was about to split open. He fumbled his way to his bathroom and found some ibuprofen. He turned on the water in the sink and threw a handful of ibuprofen into his mouth and stuck his head down to the faucet and got a mouthful of water and swallowed the pills. He turned off the water and went over to the toilet to relieve himself, trying not to throw up in the process. He washed his hands and went back into the bedroom. He realized that he had left his sliding glass door open. He walked over to the door and was about to close it when he seen the bottle of whiskey still sitting on the outside table. Alaina and Arianna got off the plane in Devils Lake and got a rental car. They decided to get a hotel room first before they went to Caleb’s. “Are you sure I should go to Caleb’s with you? Maybe I should just stay at the hotel.” Arianna asked. “Yes, I am sure. I need you there for moral support.” Alaina said and they both laughed. They got their bags out of the car and went inside the hotel. After they got into their room and put their stuff away, Alaina changed her clothes. And then changed her clothes again. She was nervous and procrastinating. “Stop fidgeting, you look great.” Arianna told her. “I’m nervous, and if I am being honest, I’m scared.” Alaina said. “I know. Alaina felt something was off with Caleb, but she just couldn’t put her finger on it. He was giving her a chance to make things right, but there was something nagging at her, telling her something wasn’t right. But she pushed those thoughts to the back of her mind and tried to forget about them. She was just happy that Caleb was at least giving her a chance. He hadn’t forgiven her yet, that much she could see in his eyes, but he was letting her be there, letting her try. Alaina walked into the hotel room, Arianna meeting her at the door. “Were you able to get a look at it?” Arianna asked. “No, I never got the chance. He took me down to the lake. While we were there, he got a message and said he had to go to the hospital. As soon as we got back to his house he went inside and shut the door on me.” Alaina said. “We need to get a look at that amulet. There are too many, from too many different families, that can hold that kind of power. I can’t narrow it down without seeing what it looks like.” she told Alaina. “I will go back and watch for him to get home. “Arianna, look at this!” Alaina yelled suddenly, making Arianna jump. “What? Oh my.” Arianna said looking at Alaina’s computer screen. Alaina had managed to track down her mother’s friends last living relative. She couldn’t believe it. It was Caleb. “So, Caleb is Hannah’s so many greats grandson.” Arianna said. “Looks that way.” Alaina said. “I wonder if he knows.” “I don’t know. For a split second after that amulet knocked you on your ass, surprised crossed his face. I don’t think he knew what kind of power it held.” Arianna said to her. “I wonder if the power came from the amulet, or if it came from him.” “Could be a little of both. “What the fuck?” Alaina was practically yelling at this point. As soon as she got back to the hotel room Arianna had showed her a picture of the amulet she had found. It was hanging around the neck of the witch that had killed their mother. They knew that witch wasn’t still alive. Alaina and Hannah had seen to that. After she had killed their mother, she disappeared for years. Then one night, while Alaina was visiting Hannah and her new daughter, Sybil tried to attack Hannah, and if Alaina hadn’t of been there, she may have succeeded. But Alaina was there, and her and Hannah killed her. Sybil couldn’t have been the one to give that amulet to Caleb, but it could have been one of her descendants. They weren’t even sure she even had any. But if it wasn’t, then it could have been a friend of Sybil’s looking for revenge. Either way, they had to get that amulet away from Caleb. It was sure to hold a lot of dark magic, since Sybil was one of the biggest practitioners and held the most power

Abigail and Nicholas stepped of the plane in Los Angeles and got a car. She put the address that Alaina sent her into the GPS and headed to the house. She was glad that Alaina was getting Arianna out of Devils Lake but she wasn’t happy that Alaina was going back. But Alaina needed to handle this situation, and if Alaina couldn’t, she would. She won’t take any chances when it came to her sisters. She didn’t want Alaina to go back alone, and her and Nicholas had talked about him staying with Arianna while Abigail goes back with Alaina. That was the only way she could make sure the situation would be taken care of. Nicholas wasn’t happy about it, but he finally gave in and agreed. They pulled up to the house and found that Alaina and Arianna were already there. Nicholas got their bags out of the trunk and followed Abigail in the house.
