“Mom died when she gave birth to me. The book can’t bring her back to life because I have no memory of her. Aunt Anna and Amber are alive. Dad says he doesn't know where they are now. They haven’t contacted us since Mom died,” Calista said in her mind.

Her heart suddenly pounding. “And soon, he will be back in my arms,” she said again in her mind and smiled with her cheeks burning.

“Honey, why are you smiling so happily?”

She woke up from her thoughts and turned to her left. She saw her dad, who was sitting in the driver's seat, was staring at her face curiously. She just realized that they were already in the parking lot of the theater.

“We have arrived!” she said, laughing awkwardly.

Her dad smiled gently at her while Alice, who was sitting in the back seat, smiled at her with a dazed face.

“You two have fun. I have to go now. Uncle Stevan is waiting for me. I’ll be here after the show,” he said.

Calista nodded into his eyes.
