“Vladimir, where are you now? Please come back to me. Please... I beg you,” Calista said in her mind.

“Honey, what’s the matter? Are you alright?”

She woke up from her thoughts and turned to her left. She saw her dad, who was sitting in the driver's seat, was staring at her with sad eyes. She could see in his eyes that he was really worried about her.

She felt bad for making him feel that way. She then tried to smile at him to hide her sadness. “I’m fine. See you,” she said and kissed him on the cheek.

“Honey, wait!” he said as she opened the car door, making her look him in the eye. “Don’t forget. We’re having dinner with Uncle Stevan,” he said.

She nodded at him with a smile, then she got out of the car and went to her class.
