Dominic's POV

Liam dumped his kids with me while he ran away from the party with his mate.

“Uncle D, what's the city like?” Mason asked, and he already took his spot on my lap, sitting comfortably. The other people enjoyed the party while I was drained and had a sense of longing for Lucinda.

To be honest, I left a note for her on the table and told her I wouldn't be back for a week. Somehow, I wanted to see her expression to confirm whatever it is she feels for me, but looking at the argument yesterday. She might not want to see me and so I left earlier than I'd planned and arrived here in the evening.

“The city is just there, lousy and busy,” I responded, giving the kids my attention. A waiter came over with some ice cream and a waffle, I nodded and took two for the kids.
