Side chapter: 00

The sun cast shadows on worn gray stones, filtering through green tree leaves, bright yellow flowers pushing up through thick grass. One can hear the wind rustling leaves of nearby trees that defy the silent atmosphere, as there are no other people around the vast grassy area of Royale Y cemetery, aside from Serina and her company.

Serina wore a white above-the-knee dress and paired it with white heels. She brought a bouquet with her, which she placed on the ground. Then, she scented a candle and prayed for the person lying six feet below the ground. She stared at the sky and watched the clouds move in a clear blue sky.

"I hope you are at peace wherever you are," says Serina as she caresses the tomb with the words 'Rest in peace' engraved on it.

Daniel patted her back and uttered, "I'm sure he's happy now."

"Yes, I am sure he is happy. Let's go home now," says the guy in the wheelchair.

Serina nodded and pulled the wheelchair. Then, she bid goodbye to Psyche and Daniel. She was about to start the engine when Psyche knocked on the tinted window, and her friend said, "Serin, don't forget to attend Gregory's birthday later."

"Of course, how could I forget?" Serina replied, accompanied by a sweet smile.

She glanced at the guy beside him, who was making a duck mouth, followed by almost meeting his eyebrows.

"What's with that look, huh?" she asked while trying to focus on the road.

He made no response, only looked in the window with his hand placed below his chin, watching the people walk on the street.

'You won't answer, huh? Tsk! Then don't!' says a voice in her head.

Silence filled the air until they arrived at the condo. She went to the bathroom and changed her clothes.

"You strangely doll yourself more than your usual attire when you’re going out. Tell me, who are you trying to impress?” he said as soon as Serina

“Seriously, why do men always think that all women in the world dress to attract attention? I am not trying to impress guys out there. I am doing this for my satisfaction, so stop sulking and change your clothes."

She picked up a suit and pants for her husband since he was temporarily disabled.

"What are you doing? Why aren't you changing clothes yet?" she asked while crossing her arms together.

"I don't want to go there," he replied, still wearing his sulking face. "I can't. So, how about you help me change my clothes?" he added.

Serina's cheek burnt with the thought of seeing him naked, but she refuted it by saying, "You have been changing your clothes since you woke up from a three weeks coma. So, stop your drama and change your clothes, or else I will attend Gregory without you."

She turned her back and was about to leave the bedroom, but Vincaster drove his wheelchair to chase Serina. He reached for her hand and successfully grasped it.

"Will you leave me if I happen to recover from this situation?" he asked. Vincaster thought Serina had blamed herself for the incident, thus she wanted to stay to take care of him.

"Change your clothes. We're going to be late for my friend's party," she replied and left as Vincaster let go of her left hand.

Serina sighed and leaned her back on the wall next to Vincaster's bedroom.

"I should have told him that I won't leave him. I got flustered, and I don't know when to say it," she murmured.

She doesn't know what to do, now that she made it out alive even though she didn't divorce him, which was her resolution after traveling back in time. She also realized that Vincaster was doing good things for her without implicitly telling her. Back then, she thought he was only acting because she was too fixated with her mindset that Vincaster had chosen his ex-lover, which turned out they were both lost in translation.

Serina kept the signed divorce paper but didn't submit it because she believed that there was no need to do that anymore. She smiled and murmured, "Divorce is the only ending for our contracted marriage."

Right now, her goal in life is to keep their marriage as the start of their real matrimony, not on paper but the one which binds them by heart and soul.

"I'll definitely marry you again if you propose to me, and it will no longer be marriage for convenience," she added.
