Side chapter: 01

Serina was decluttering things along with Vincaster's wheelchair because he no longer needed it. Those things that they no longer used were stored in Serina's room. After all, it was unoccupied since she agreed to share a room with her husband two months ago because it is easier to tend to his needs if she's near him. Moreover, she had confessed her feelings to him, and there was no need to disclose what had happened after the confession; even a man with a cast on his right leg can still warm a bed.

Vincaster was in the office, and Serina has no classes today because the school calendar is yet to start. She was kind of nervous about the school opening this August. Her husband told her that they should make a public appearance as a couple to clear the rumor of her being a mistress. Although such a topic had died eventually, still, they need to make it clear.

She does agree because why not, right? They are technically husbands and wives. Unlike before, Serina wanted to hide it due to circumstances, but right now, she's proud of herself being his wife. And, she finally understood Vincaster's words and actions.

Serina had a dream before, which was during Vincaster's coma days. Her dreamt was about a cat with a blinding light that says; Serina is beloved by God. It told her she must be true to herself and follow her heart, and she need not be afraid because God has planned her future well. That day she realized that she also misunderstood God's will for her.

"Here you are. I should have disposed of you already," she said while holding the signed divorce paper. Destroying such a thing had slipped her mind because her husband kept her busy every day, especially when the moon replaced the sun.

~krrrrrrr~

Serina turned off the alarm clock and uttered, "Time to prepare dinner."

She went to the kitchen but placed the divorce paper on the dining table. Then she removed her ring for its safekeeping because she was afraid it would go into the drainage. She's been wearing her wedding ring after Vincaster caught an accident but removed it every time she had to prepare dinner, yet her husband didn't know she was removing it from her finger since that guy could be a nagger most of the time. He'll probably insist that she should not remove it because he never removed his.

All of a sudden, she had to go to the bathroom because nature was calling her.  While she was in the bathroom Vincaster had gone home, and he felt thirsty, but instead of heading to the kitchen, he was stuck in the dining area.

Serina was surprised when she saw her husband holding the paper and her ring, so to avoid misunderstanding, she explained, "Let me explain."

"What's the meaning of this Serina A. Liverteo?!"

Serina didn't know why, but she burst into laughter as if something tickled her belly.

"What's so funny?! I thought you promised to stay with me? Was it a lie because you pity my situation when I couldn't walk back then?"

"I was about to burn it today because it always slipped in my mind, so why are you yelling at me?!" She replied.

Just a while ago, Serina was laughing, but this time, she's irritated with Vincaster.

"Is that so?" Vincaster's face lit up, and he was now wearing a naughty smile. "I want proof that you had no intention of divorcing me," he added.

"Proof? What are -"

Serina's words had been suppressed when Vincaster savored her lips. His tongue is trying to catch hers, and when their tongue meets, a war has started inside their mouth. Serina's eyes widened when Vincaster removed his suit, especially when he started unbuttoning his polo.

Serina gasped when she stopped Vincaster from ravishing her lips. She said, "You don't mean to do it here, right?"

"Hmm... so you don't like doing it here?" he asked with his naughty smile, and she knew Vincaster wouldn't stop until he got what he wanted.

"What about dinner? Aren't you starving? I haven't cooked yet,” she asked.

"Let's just order later. Let me first have a special dish for tonight, and I will call it 'Proof' cuisine." He lifted Serina and they headed to their bed-chamber.

"Proof my ass, you just want to spread my legs tonight, and you find this issue benefitting you," she replied while opening the door.

"You're not wrong tho. Honestly, I'm kind of scared when I saw that paper and you even removed your ring, so I assumed you had not truly changed your mind about divorcing me."

"I have given myself to you, yet you still doubted me? I'm not crazy enough to make love with someone whom I am going to divorce," she replied as her hand helped him remove his polo.

"But why did you remove your ring anyway? it was a symbol of our marriage you shouldn't remove it."

"It's not. The ring won't stop someone from cheating, okay? If you think wearing a ring all the time will stop infidelity, then you'll never find happiness. You have to trust your partner because the ring was just a material manifestation. There will be times when we have to remove it, and the best example is those construction workers who are not allowed to wear accessories during working time."

"You have a point. But, you're not a construction worker," he replied.

"I want you to wear our next wedding ring and not remove it ever," he replied. Then, he kissed his wife's neck down to her collarbone.

"O-okay... ugh..." Serina replied and did not argue because her mind was looking forward to the double wedding with Psyche and Daniel. It was their wedding, but it was their first real marriage; because their first marriage happened in a blink of an eye, then followed by the one arranged by their deceased grandfather.
