Theo's POV

What am I doing here?

I probably should have stayed back and accepted the reality.

It's not like we have anything to do with each other anymore. But my nerves are restless, and so is my heart.

If I hadn't found out that she was leaving this city immediately, maybe I wouldn't have come.

I shouldn't have if I knew I would be met with this sight.

Sitting on the bench together, they indeed looked like a happy family of three.

“Olivia, can we talk?” I spoke finally, breaking out of my reverie.

I'd been so engrossed in staring at her, questioning this surreal feeling inside me.

She glanced up, and for a few seconds, she appeared shocked.

Then she stared at the man sitting beside her as if seeking his consent.

Seeing that gesture awoke a bitter feeling of jealousy inside me. She was docile and obedient, following each of my commands.

I can't believe she had to display those qualities to another man.

Just when I thought she wouldn't come, she rose to her feet and approache

Actually, keeping Dave here might be the best option. I can no longer trust him with any Nanny, and my workload has just increased after the promotion.“It’s nothing, Grandpa. I’m grateful that you’re taking good care of him,” I replied.“No need, My Dear.” Grandpa got up with the help of the Butler, yawning. “I will leave you guys alone. It turns out you were the source of his sadness. Now that you’re here, my great-grandson looks much better. But don’t stay up late, Olivia. Go to bed early so you won’t be late for work tomorrow.”I nodded and bid the old man goodnight.Even though I was sleepy, I suppressed my yawn. “How about I tuck you in, Baby?”“Are you gonna sleep here?” Dave asked, looking hopeful. “It’s too late anyways. And it’s dangerous out there.”“You’re right. I’m spending the night here.”His expression relaxed and he smiled.Being away from him must be difficult for him, the same way it is for me. If only there’s a way to end this without anyone getting hurt. If only

“It’s very late, Baby…” I replied. Besides, I’m exhausted, and driving back and forth to the Wellington Mansion would definitely wear me out. Also, I mustn’t be late for work tomorrow morning. “Mommy’s so sorry,” I added. “How about this? I’ll visit you on the weekend and will spend the whole day with you, doesn’t that sound great?”His soft sighs echoed from the other end. “Whatever you say, Mommy. Saving lives is important. You must be tired. You need to rest.”I nodded.“Well, guess what?” To lighten his mood, I decided to break the news. “We’ll be visiting Grandma soon and will spend some days with her. Great-grandpa said I can take you along.”“Great. I’ll be free from the pestering servants for once…” Dave replied. “Take care, Mommy. Good night.”After ending the call, I wasn’t as happy as I was supposed to be. My mood dampened, in fact, and a sense of guilt crept into my heart. It has been more than a week since we got separated, and I’ve not seen him face-to-face. If Dave m

For a few seconds, silence lingered after my speech. The employees looked at each other as if communicating with their eyes. And then most of them nodded before the place erupted in murmurs. They all spoke at once;“You spoke well, and you spoke the truth, Dr. Olivia. It’s useless to fight against the hospital management’s decision.”“Although we’re against favoritism, we’re not sure if the hospital management is corrupted or not.”“It’s true that this matter is none of our business and we should all focus on our jobs. Thank you for your kind speech and your willingness to not punish us despite hearing all the gossip.”“It’s not in our place to decide what’s right or wrong. We will work under you and obey your orders.”Some of the employees looked skeptical while a majority of them found my words sensible. At least, the rumors and gossip would stop from now on. At least all of them would focus on their work and not turn me into a celebrity in the hospital. After the meeting, I was on

She was the same girl who introduced herself to Ethan as an intern. She’d also joined us in the celebration party. As it turned out, she’s from the Cardiology Department. “You’re just an intern and might not know how things are done here…” I replied. “But criticizing the hospital management… I hope you know the consequences.”“Dr. Olivia, there will be no consequences as far as I’m concerned…” She lifted her chin, putting on a proud look. “Although I’m just an intern now, I’ll be permanently recruited by the hospital after my internship?”“Oh, really?” I raised a brow, faking a surprised look. “Then I guess you must be excellent in your job.”Cora nodded and smiled. “Not only that. My father is one of the major shareholders and he’s best friends with Dr. Davison. I will definitely get hired.”I chuckled. Bantering with her was a waste of time. Because she’d just fallen into her own trap. “I’ll disregard everything you said, Cora. I thought you knew what you were saying, so I stopp

Olivia’s POV.Many strange things had been happening in this hospital, but none was as bizarre as Theo standing up for me.A while ago, I’d convinced myself that he was only mad at Dr. Natasha because of her carelessness. But then, neither his sister nor Jessica were exempted. Ever since I met Theo for the first time, I’d never seen him raise his voice at his sister. I’d never thought that he would ever disregard Jessica.“The Wellington Family must be filled with crazy women, but Theo Wellington is very admirable…” Alisha commented as we left the VIP Ward Area.I’ve already made a mental note that I won’t set foot here anymore until there is an emergency. Judging from the current state of the patient’s vitals, she’s already responding to treatment well. But nobody was sure if a relapse wouldn’t occur again.I am supposed to watch her closely, but standing in the same space with Theo, Jessica, and Tania is draining enough, and I won’t be able to focus properly as long as they’re pre

I fumed inside, my heart burning with fury. A hard lump formed inside my throat as I struggled to compose myself and fight the rage inside me, because…Right now, the idea of strangling her is the only thing that’ll make me happy. Not only was Theo watching Olivia calmly, but even Tania didn’t react. She gave Olivia such an eager look with a hint of admiration. She must have developed a respect for her ever since she came and saved her mother. No. This can’t happen. If Theo’s family starts liking Olivia again, it can facilitate her goals. For all I know, Olivia can dump that man for Theo the moment he asks her to come back to him. “You’re such an angel, Olivia…” I let go of Tania and approached where she stood, silently assessing the patient. “I heard that you saved my Mother-in-law’s life at a critical moment. What would have happened if she’d died? Saving her is like saving my life as well because I don’t think I can ever live without her- So, thank you so much! If only there’s
