Kate had finally left, but the damage she had done remained.

I hadn't realised I'd fallen asleep on the couch until Dominic's voice pulled me out of it.

"Come to bed. I've changed the sheets."

I blinked, trying to gather my thoughts. My body felt heavy with sleep, but the moment I remembered what had happened earlier, the tiredness seemed to disappear.

I sat up slowly, rubbing my eyes. "I'll be there in a minute."
