Charlene fell silent for a moment, her breath catching in her throat. She studied Ethan's expression, then glanced to the side, spotting the bottle of liquor on the table. "Ah," She thought. A cynical laugh burst from her lips, and a single tear rolled down her cheek.

“You’re really drunk, Ethan.” She said, trying to stop laughing.

Ethan frowned. “You think I’m lying?”

Charlene’s face twisted, a mix of anger and the urge to laugh. “You’re drunk, that’s why you’re saying such nonsense.”

“I’m not drunk. You know I can’t get drunk easily.”

“Then you're saying you believe in superstitions like that? Oh my God, you're completely crazy if that's the case.”

Ethan grabbed Charlene's shirt, his eyes burning with anger. “I'm not crazy! My father, the former Alpha, knew it! Why do you think he insisted on making Narsha my mate, huh?”

Ethan continued, saying that it was his father who kidnapped Narsha's mother from her pack when she was pregnant with Narsha. He locked her in the top room of the m

It wasn't just them who had to postpone their weekend plans, but almost everyone. Even the street food festival was delayed due to the current unstable situation. A week ago, there were two random shootings in public places. One victim died at the scene, while another is still being treated intensively at the hospital. All media outlets continue to cover the situation as a reminder. That was a form of absolute terror, knowing that the bullets used by the shooter were silver bullets. The poison from the silver spreads quickly, attacking the brain. The mildest case for such a condition is total paralysis, and the worst is death on the spot. So, even though one survivor is still being treated at the hospital, his family must prepare for the possibility that he may be paralysed. Schools and shops in the downtown area have been closed for security reasons. Everyone is advised not to leave their homes unless it is absolutely necessary. It has been four days since the last incident, bu

“You know, you’re really indecisive.”“It only happens when it involves you.”“Are you blaming me now?” Narsha’s tone sharpened.“Impossible. I’m blaming myself for not being the man you like.”Narsha shifted their conversation back to her phone screen. The atmosphere in the classroom didn’t seem unusual, even after the final school bell rang.“Nothing happened in class either. Maybe tomorrow?”“Narsha, calm down. Nothing happened today or tomorrow. I plan to send a spy to that school, so just relax.”Narsha sighed deeply. “At times like this, I hate myself for still relying on you even though I always push you away. I really have no shame, do I?”Dexter chuckled. “Oh please, be shameless more often. You can use me, make me your sword.”“That doesn't sound romantic at all, if that's what you're getting at.”“Is that so?”The two returned to the cafe, just before Cherish and Chelsea came home. That day, Cherish's bruises reappeared in different places, matching the direction she fell w

She looked deeply into Cherish's eyes. “Sweety?”Cherish glanced at the bruise, as if it were nothing. “I think it's because I fell during practice. Besides my arm, there's also one on my butt. But Mommy, I'm okay, it'll go away soon. You know how strong I am, right?”As she was able to transform into her wolf form at her current age, her wolf powers were also growing stronger, marked by her ability to heal herself. Even though she said it casually, Narsha was still unsure.“Who did this?” Narsha repeated her question, her voice sharper."Who? Come on, Mommy. This wasn't anyone's doing, I swear.“”Are you sure? Because these aren't bruises from falling, Sweety. Mommy knows that." Narsha's pupils trembled. Bad memories that were difficult to get rid of resurfacedAbout how she also had bruises that looked exactly like that when she was little. Strangely, she didn't really remember the reason behind why she got hit, or even who the adult was who hit her.Cherish read Narsha's expression

“Why suddenly friends?”“You don’t have any friends either. So why shouldn’t two people who don’t have friends be friends with each other?”“A brilliant idea, but risky if we’re the ones doing it. That’s just your excuse to stay close to me, right?”Dexter grin widely. “Exactly.”“I already told you, get over your feelings. Geez, we’re just going around in circles back to where we started.”“But that’s easier said than done. You know that, right? You said you’ve been there. So, let me like you, you don’t have to do anything. Who knows, maybe my feelings will disappear one day?“Narsha raised her hands. ”Okay, you said it, so don't complain to me later if I never accept your feelings. Deal?“”Deal. And one more thing, just call me by my name, without the Alpha. Deal?“”Deal.“”Now, try it."“Dexter. How does it feel to hear your name called casually?”"Never feel better.”Narsha walked to the back of the cashier counter, while Dexter put down the flower pot he was carrying, placing it

What's his deal...?... That question filled Narsha's head as she stared straight into Dexter's eyes. He didn't seem to be joking or trying to provoke a certain reaction from her. Instead, he looked relieved, as if he had found the liberation he had been chasing but never achieved. His silver eyes, sparkling with a hint of blue, seem too innocent for someone like Dexter.“Is that really your decision after considering everything?” she asks.Dexter nods enthusiastically. His smile seems genuine, without a trace of calculation, showing the sincerity in his eyes. Narsha isn't used to seeing him like this. She could only shake her head, then nodded with a slight laugh. She said, “If that's your decision, then so be it, what else?”A long pause followed their silence as they stared into each other's eyes. She turned her attention back to cleaning the café, wiping the tables. Dexter stepped closer carefully, ensuring he was still at a comfortable distance from Narsha. When he saw that Narsh

Alson stared at Gaby, seeing the rage bubbles threatening to burst behind her crooked smile. He knew how deep Gaby's obsession with Dexter had been for several years, making the haughty woman even willing to become a head maid. That was also the biggest reason behind the sibling relationship was so messed up, like a rope with sparks that would eventually break.Alson had given up on reminding Gaby to stop her obsession. But his younger sister was like a car without brakes. And without realizing it, there was no affection left even to remind each other. All that remained was the desire to bring each other down.Between her cynical laughs, Gaby muttered, “Does he think he can find peace?”Alson laughed. “Yeah, he thinks he does. Do you know what he said after that?”“What?”“He’ll give me that position, fuck. Like I’d want that troublesome job, right?”Gaby looked at Alan with disgust. “You’re both crazy. I can’t let that happen. Not after everything I’ve done.”Alson smirked. He knew s
