LOGIN“Happy Birthday!”
The voices hit me immediately I walked into the house with Caleb, for a moment I just stood with my eyes wide open as I stared at all the glittering balloons and the pair of eyes boring into my skin.
“Woah!” I mouthed. “Hey guys.”
“Happy birthday sweetheart.” Mom said as a drop of tears fell from her eyes.
“Thank you so much mom.”
The party began, I greeted most of my cousins specifically from my mother's side, of course, no one from dad's family was here. I've never had any relationship from people from my father's side. Mom wasn't the type to always tell me stuffs about dad. So I didn't bother her.
I gave out my best smiles as I talked and answered everyone's greetings. It was really nice bonding with my family.
“Ava!” Aunt Maya called off out walking towards me with open arms.
“Aunt maya.” I responded with a smile as she engulfed me in a tight hug. Aunt Maya was mom's immediate elder sister, she was this type of family member you could always rely on when there's a problem. But she's a huge talker, once Aunt Maya sees you, you are in for huge hours of talks and advices.
“You’ve grown so much. I could remember how little you were the last time I came over.” she grinned and I could only let out a forced laugh.
I prayed for her session of disturbance to end and just like a miracle, I heard mom's voice call for me. “Excuse me, Aunt Maya, I think I heard mom calling.” I seized the excuse and moved out of her embrace.
“Mom did you call me?”
“No dear, is there a problem?” she answered as she laughed at one of the dry jokes and uncle of mine was telling her.
Weird, I thought I heard her call.
“Ava.” I heard the tiny voice again, I looked around but everyone seemed to be busy. I shrugged it off, maybe I was beginning to go crazy just like Caleb said earlier.
Finally, the party was over. I stood by the door as I thanked everyone as they left. Tradition.
“See you at school tomorrow, I've got soccer practice so I have to be early. I might not pick you up.” Caleb said.
“Way to go caleb.” I scoffed.
“I promise I'll make it be to you.”
“You better.” he said grinning.
Finally, people were gone and it was time to clean the whole house, it looked messy.
“Ava?” mom silently called. “We've got to talk.” This time with a stern voice.
I sat down as I faced her, giving her my full attention as she began, her hands strongly clasped together and when she looked up, her eyes had a glint of tears in them.
“You know,” she began softly, “when I look back at time, I smile and congratulate myself. It hadn't been easy raising a kid alone but here she is eighteen years old.”
“i've never told you a lot of things about your father,” she said, her voice trembling. “but I think it is best you know them now cause I can feel that time is almost up.”
“Mom.” I drawled, “I'm kinda confused here, what are you talking about, what time is almost up?” I asked with a furrowed brow.
Mom was beginning to give me the chills, she was acting like the letter I had received earlier.
She sniffed as she continued, “When I met your dad, my thoughts about a lot of things changed, and that is, about the supernatural. I got to find out that there are special breed of beings that have certain powers and your father Ava, was a part of it.” She took a huge breath as she continued, “Your father was a werewolf.”
I didn't know what was funny but I suddenly bursted out laughing.
“Mom, really? Dad, a werewolf. Mom, those things don’t exist, I think you've been watching so much movie and it has gotten the best of you.” I chuckled but mom remained still, she only stared at me.
My laugh died down, she can't be serious right?
“Ava, you are a half wolf and you have been fated to the Alpha of the Dark moon park. I didn't believe your father and his people, not until I saw them turn before my very eyes. But everything always had a consequence. Your father had slept with a human and that caused him his life.” Mom broke down in tears. I found all this so hard to believe, who would wake up and believe when you're being told that you're a werewolf.
I tried speaking but no words came out of my mouth. It was like as though a huge lump got stuck in my throat.
“I took you away from them and went into hiding for eighteen years. I thought they wouldn't find us but guess I was wrong.” she chuckled silently, “I was visited by a member of the pack about a week ago, I was warned to tell you the truth about yourself or I'll suffer the same fate as my husband. Their Alpha needs you. I am so sorry for hiding this from you, I thought I had saved us. I'm truly sorry.” Hot tears trailed down her cheeks as her voice cracked.
I finally found my voice but I just couldn't say anything. I imagined how hard it would have been for mom to take care of me all this while, I moved closer to mom and engulfed her into a hug. This was my best way of telling her that I love her. The hug held so much emotions.
After a few moments of quietness, we disengaged, I stared at mom, I had so much to ask.

I fell on my bed as I recall everything I and mom had just finished discussing. This was like as if it was a movie, it sounded something similar to the movie Underworld. I was a half wolf and I was the mate to the Alpha of my park. It sounded all funny but it's just the real truth.
And just like the speed of lightening, I rushed towards the letter, it explains everything. This could have been sent by my Alpha, I chuckled silently as I called out “My Alpha.”
He had sent me the message but why write it in a weird manner.
I picked up my phone and dialed Caleb's number but immediately stopped, I had to ask mom before I could tell Caleb.
I growled and fell back on my bed with the letter on my hand, I silently drifted off to sleep, the words still whispering in my ears.
“You are a half wolf and you have been fated to the Alpha.”
AVAI paced around the hallway, clutching my hands together. It was finally here, the D-day. I was going to make my decision today, but my heart raced, beating rapidly.“You ready?” Selene asked, strolling in.I wiped my sweaty palms on my dress as I looked up at her. “I’m not sure.”“Well, you have no time to be sure.” Emelia replied, “The hall is quite full, everyone's waiting for you now.”Selene walked up to me, placing her arm on my shoulder, “You’ve thought thoroughly about this right?”“A little bit,” I answered, my voice a little bit tensed. She huffed out before continuing, “I know you can do this. It's either Logan, Xavier or no one. You can make any choice you want, no one's gonna stop you, alright?”I sighed as I breathed heavily, straightening up my face. “Okay, I can do this.”“You know you can actually have the two men right?” Emelia smirked, pacing around.“What?” Selene asked.“I mean, she can claim the two Alphas. It's not bad when you have two hot wolves by your sid
AVA“I’m not pregnant for anyone.” My voice broke through the noise echoing in the room. The room fell silent as everyone turned their attention to me.“I’m not,” I muttered lowly, stepping in front. I raised my head gently, the piercing gaze of every single wolf stung me. Xavier stood still, his eyes wide open as he stared at me.I breathed out before continuing. “I can't get pregnant.”Another round of noise erupted again, and I tilted my head to Selene, and she sat still, her face calm as she stared back at me.“What do you mean child?” Lady Margaret asked.“It was a few years ago,” I chuckled dryly at the confession I was about to make. “I was on my way back from school, and I sat quietly at the back of the school bus. I hated being close to people, I loved being on my own. My headphones were placed properly in my ears as I listened to Selene Dion's music. I had no idea what was about to happen. A few minutes before the incident occurred, I received a call from an unknown caller,
AVAThe rain showered on me as I ran through the village, my tears blurring my view. I had no idea where I was headed; all I knew was that I wanted to be far away, somewhere where no one could find me.The memories of Logan's pleading face flashed, and I felt a pang of guilt. It felt like I had left a dying and helpless man to care for himself. This was the very first time I would see someone like Logan cry. He was always the strong-hearted one, always ready to strike, but now, he was more like a helpless child. My heart ached as I walked through the dark lonely road. Why was I feeling guilty? Why were his tears touching me and making me feel the way I ought not to feel?I shouldn't have gone to see him. I should have listened to Selene and left the pack, and gone to someplace where I can't be easily found. But I choose to stay, I choose to act by my thoughts and behave foolishly and now, this is the consequence of my action. If only there was a way to escape all this trauma, a way wh
SELENEI sat by the oak tree at the back of the hut. I threw stones into the river as I reminisced about my earlier discussion with Ava.She was really a brave kid, she had lots of duties on her shoulders and she had her own emotions to deal with, yet she still stood strong and undefeated. The moon goddess indeed, made the perfect decision in choosing her to become the Alpha. She had all the qualities.“Hey?” Emelia said, sitting next to me.“How did you find me?” I asked, glancing at her.She shrugged, a weak smile on her face, “I just happened to find you.”I hummed a response, nodding my head as I turned back to the water. The stones made tiny sounds as they plumped into the water.“I overheard your conversation with Ava.” She confessed, glancing at me. “You really did well. While you spoke, I kinda felt a great wave, then I remembered the prophecy. You were really destined to offer great help to her. Even though you're not the Alpha, but to me, you'll always be my Alpha.”I scoffe
AVAIt's been two days since the meeting, and I lie on my bed, rolling from side to side. My head was like a battlefield, different thoughts racing through it.I was caught in the spider's web with no way to escape. And now, I've been given an ultimatum by the elders.“Fuck you, Ava,” I cursed at myself as I sat up on the bed. I stared at my reflection in the mirror, and I looked like a mess. Hair messed up like a bird’s nest, eye bags beneath my eyes and my face pale. This wasn't how I thought my life would be. I thought that after I had made my decision to the elders, everyone would take it in stride and I'd be free. But no, they all didn't take it lightly and now here I am, stuck, depressed and dying slowly within myself.I thought that once the war was over, things could go back to the way they were. I expected that I'd go back to my normal life and write my final high school exams and prepare for college. But certain things aren't meant to happen, I guess.Maybe I was born to be
LOGANI sat, crawled up on the floor, an empty bottle of whiskey on the floor and another in my hand.I felt broken, shattered. This was all my fault. If only I had treated her like a true mate, things wouldn't have escalated to this extent, but the lust for power and authority has made me lose the one thing that is more important to me.The door creaked open, and I strained my eyes to see who it was.“This place smells like hell,” James said, opening the curtains. “And why is it so dark in here?”I took another sip from the bottle, “The sun is hurting my eyes.” I drawled. He scoffed, squatting next to me. “The last time I checked, you're a werewolf and not a vampire.”“Have I really been a bad Alpha and mate?”“Do I speak to you as a subordinate or as a friend? He asked, eyes staring at me.I huffed out, “As a friend?”“Then, you've been a really bad Alpha to your people and a brutal mate to Ava.” He began, sitting properly next to me. “Ava chose to stay in your pack as her Alpha, sh
