Eden pov

My head was pounding. I felt like a column of trucks had just run over me and left me behind to suffer.

In fact, my entire body was aching and I couldn’t move my hands. My legs were tied to something I was laying on, but hands were free, so I couldn’t understand why they didn’t move.

Trying to open my eyes was useless as it felt as if my eyelids had weights attached to them.

Recalling what happened, I couldn’t remember much. One moment, everything was fine. Richard sat next to me and tried to start talking about some family history when the lights went out.

I could remember the look on Richard’s face when he jumped to his feet, spun around and shouted, “go away, you don’t belong here! There is no place for you in the world of the living!”

The next moment, Richard was thrown out of the room and the locks clicked. Personally I didn’t see the creature, but for some reason, it felt like Richard could.

“You’re awake. Marvelous. I was getting really bored waiting.”
