Chapter fourteen
After making another plate of steaks for them both, Lucian walked out of the kitchen with them and this time, he saw Ava at his mini bar with a glass of drink, she smiled and raised up the glass at him, “hope you don’t mind me, I couldn’t resist the urge to have a drink anymore and didn’t know how to ask you for a glass,” she smiled, there was a clear visibility on her face and voice that she was slightly tipsy.
Lucian placed the plates of food on the dining table and walked up to her, taking the glass of drink from her, he slightly brought it to his nose and smelled it. The strong scent of Scotch wafted into his nostrils and he glanced at Ava, “is your alcohol tolerance high?”
“No, but I just love the taste of the drink,” she grinned.

When Ava woke up, the sun was shining brightly up in the sky and the rays reflecting in her room, she stopped at the thought of the room as hers, but it really is, Lucian said so last night, she reminded herself before sitting up and stretching on the bed. Lucian stood in front of Ava’s room, he heaved a deep sigh and keeping his face blank, he pushed open the door. She was lying on the bed and didn’t even bother to look at him. He threw the fancy bag he had come back with on the bed, “change into one of these, lunch would be ready soon,” he turned and walked out of the room. When outside and protected by the closed doors, he heaved a sigh and massaged his temple, he really needs to get a hold on himself because he really can’t understand what he was doing or what was going on with him. Four days later, Ava snapped her eyes open at the sound of the thunder, her heart was beating loud in her chest, she has never been a friend of the thunder and the phobia had started when she was still five and her house was attacked by some men. Her mother had locked her up in the wine cellar with nothing to accompany her but the angry roar of the thunder beating loud around the house and deep in her chest as well as the sound of gunshots raining everywhere. Ever since that night, she never slept alone when it was raining because she always fear that the night would repeat itself.The lightening drew, sending flashes of light into her room and making her shut her eyes once more and when the thunder roared, she screamed along with it.
