KELVIN

Kelvin quickly hid under the bed when he heard Laura's voice. He totally knows what that calls for.  Laura stormed into the room but froze in her steps and unconsciously dropped the bag on the floor at the sight which met her eyes. The room was turned upsidedown with clothes scattered all over the bed and the floor. Her study table was no different with books scattered here and there.

"Oh, my God, Kelvin!!!!!", she screamed, almost in tears.

Upon hearing the screams,Mrs Amy rushed out of the kitchen and stood at the hall;gazing up the stairs.

" What is it, Laura? Is everything okay up there?",she shouted, frightened by the scream.

"No, mum, my room is totally a mess!", she replied. Amy chuckled without uttering any further words and continued her chores.

Laura slowly strolled into the room in search of the culprit. Kelvin hid as quietly as he could without any sound, displaying a satisfactory smile. Laura checked through the wardrobe and the washroom but couldn't find him. Just when she was returning from the washroom, she saw Kelvin's exposed feet at the right side of the bed without his knowledge. A mischievous smile suddenly formed on her face and she gave a faint giggle. Laura crept towards him as quite as possible; not exposing herself or intentions. All Kelvin could feel was a warm hand on his feet followed by an unexpected drag from where he hid.

"Here you are, got you", Laura exclaimed, cheerful.

"Ouch, Laura, let go off me. I didn't do anything",he screamed.

 "Really? So why is my room like this? ", she queried as she continued dragging him around with a chuckle. 

"Ouch, Laura..., you're hurting me", he cried.

Mrs Amy slightly shook her head with a giggle,"These kids", she mumbled on hearing their giggles and screams.

Laura finally let go off Kelvin's feet and dropped next to him on the floor , cheerful. They both chuckled heartedly, breathless;facing the roof.

Laura was suddenly silent, gazing at the roof, blank. Stroke by the sudden silence from his sister's end, Kelvin looked down at her to find out the reason; only to find her spacing out.

" Hey, Laura, are you alright?", he queried, quite worried.

"Yeah, why do you ask", she mumbled, staring at him.

" You don't look that cheerful to me and I've never seen you suddenly down like this. Why, did something happen at school?"

Laura gave a faint smile and sat up making Kelvin to also adjust himself up, facing her.

"You know you can share your worries with me even though I'm troublesome and carefree but I'm not heartless and senseless ", Kelvin added.

"Hey, don't say that, you're my perfect kid bro...",she replied with a chuckle, ruffling her hand through his hairs.

Laura sighed, holding his brother's hand," Here's it, I had a little fight with these bully guys at school today because they're always bullying Ivy and Lupita for whatever reason I don't know. This really gets on my nerves and I don't know how best to solve this", she explained, depressed.

Kelvin smiled and pulled her into a hug,

"It's okay,Laura. I know you're very intelligent and will in no time find solution to that", he mumbled.

" Thanks, Kelvin ",said Laura,cheerful.

" But hey, there's no way you're getting out of here without clearing this mess, kid bro ", she added with a chuckle and trod off to the washroom.

" But Laura.... ", he cried.

"No buts young man. It should be done before I get out there ",Laura shouted from the washroom.

Kelvin roared in frustration with a pouted face and started cleaning up, whining. Laura peeped at him through the door with a satisfactory smile and retrieved back in to wash down.
