WHAT'S THE MEANING OF THAT

THE ROBERTS' MANSION

Supper was finally over and everyone had already retrieved to their respective rooms, attending to their personal works. 

Mya was attending to some documents from work and Laura was as well finishing up her assignment while Kelvin was busily playing a video game. The piercing shouts and laughter from his end flooded Laura and Mya's room like the rains causing them to roar, frustrated. Kelvin's room was in between Mya and Laura's room.

Laura dropped her pen wolfishly, storming off to Kelvin's room. Just when she got out, she saw Mya also approaching Kelvin's room with a messy hair and a wanly look. They both sighed with a faint smile, sightly shaking their heads when their eyes met and pushed the door opened together.

" Gosh, Kelvin!!!!! ", they shouted and he flinched, turning to the door.

" Damn, Mya, Laura....you startled me"

"Really? Guess what, we'll do worse than this if you keep on disturbing the whole house like this. Why? Do you wish to bring the roof down?", exclaimed Laura glowering.

" Yeah, Kelvin, we're trying to get our work done here but those loud screams keeps haunting our brains ", cried Mya with a pleading look.

" Ouch, sorry, guys.....I'll watch out for that, okay",he replied with a withering look.

They smiled and strolled out, "Goodnight, Kelvin. Don't forget to sleep early", they shouted;locking the door behind.

He responded and continued with his game. Mya and Laura returned to their rooms to finish up their assignments.

Two hours later, Laura laid on her bed attending to a call when she heard a knock on the door.

"Hold on, guys, it seems someone is knocking on my door. I think mum want to check on me before going to bed".

"Alright, girlfriend, go ahead", Naomi and Alixes responded from the other end of the cell.  The knock came again. Laura quickly got up from the bed with her phone still placed on her ears.

"Who is it, I'm coming", she shouted.

Laura opened the door only to find Mya standing there with her pillow; wearing a faint smile.

" Mya? why, what happened? ", Laura queried with a brooding look.

Without an answer, Mya by passed Laura into the room leaving Laura at the door while she settled in bed. 

" Hello,sorry, guys, need to go off now. We'll meet at school tomorrow ", said Laura to Naomi and Alixes as she dropped the line with a grave look.

Mya looked at the tensed face of her sister as she approached and chuckled.

"Do I need a permission if I want to share your room with you?", she uttered with a wry grin. 

"Mya", Laura cried with a chuckle, throwing a pillow at her." You're always like this when you want to share a room. At least you've got to seek my permission first ", she added while she laid next to her.

" Really? Anyway, you can kick me out if you can",said Mya with a deadpan look.

"Which you clearly know I can't, right", uttered Laura with a chuckle. Mya nodded and they both bursted into laughter.

" I'm so happy to have you, Laura. I don't know how life would have been without you, sis", said Mya with a smile.

" Same here, Mya. I love it when we listen to music together.... It makes me forget the troubles of the day".

" You're right, dear", Mya added and they giggled, humming to the song they were listening to.

Mya is two years older than Laura but loves sharing a room with her sister whenever she feels stressed or tired. They normally discussed about their activities of the day and listened to music together since they both love the same genre of music until they sleep off.

EXCELLENT BRAINS COLLEGE 

 It was 8:00 in the morning, Laura sat in class already done with her usual hour studies;chatting with her friends Naomi and Alixes when Ivy and Lupita approached them with a box of chocolate in their hand.

" Here, this is for you, Laura", said Ivy with a stretched hand.

Laura stared at her friends and back at them with a quizzical look.

" What for? Is it already Val's day"

 Alixes immediately shrugged at her question,gazing at Naomi for a confirmation.

"What's today's date", queried Naomi with a vacant expression.

" Oh, no, no, guys. It's not yet Val's day", Lupita cuts in with a radiant smile.

" Oh, right, we thought we missed that", Laura and her friends exclaimed in unison, chuckling. "Then what's all this about",Alixes asked.

Ivy and Lupita took a glance at each other and Lupita nodded to her to go ahead.

" Um, Laura, this is to thank you for what you did for us, yesterday. If not for you, what would we have done to please those guys".

" Oh, that; it okay, girls. Let that be, okay? we're friends and that's what friends do for each other", Laura replied.

"But we want you to have this, please don't reject it", Lupita insisted. Laura glanced at Naomi and Alixes for an option and they assured her to accept. She accepted the gift with a smile. 

Ivy and Laura thanked her again and went back to their desk. All along, Ben and his friends, Fred and Patrick stood at the entrance, starring at them.

"What do they think they're doing?",asked Fred darkly.

Without a word, Ben sped towards Lupita and Ivy with a surly, black expression. Fred and Patrick trod after him.
