CHAPTER 5

Marcus stood in the middle of the road. He watched Olivia walk away with the little boy beside her.

Watching the gentle sway of her hips, he felt the blood rushing into his cock which started to swell and throb.

He ran his hands through his hair.

This was just too much to be a coincidence.

First, being drawn to a kid who turns out to be Olivia's child.

He remembered that Jake had said he didn't have a father, he was going to ask Olivia about it.

He sat on a bench by the side of the street and prepared to wait.

After years of training, he knew he was in considerable danger, seated on the street alone without any bodyguard and only a brass knuckle in his pocket, a pistol strapped to his belt, and a Rambo knife taped to his ankle. He put his hand into the pocket and wrapped his fist around the knuckle weapon.

He sat in full alert mode.

He should not even be out here this morning.

His phone rang.

Following his father's rule, he had two phones. A small untraceable phone that he used for deadly business contracts like contacts with his hitmen assassins or thugs around this part of the world. He also had the latest iPhone, which contained no information about their underworld. That was the phone that he held at events and parties.

He reached for his ringing phone – The iPhone – and checked the caller ID. it was just cousin Julian.

"Yeah?" He grunted into the phone.

"Where are you?" Julian asked. There was no point of formality.

"Nowhere," Marcus replied.

"Where is nowhere?" Julian pressed on.

"What do you want, Julian?" Marcus snapped.

"There's a meeting in about an hour," Julian said. "Melissa's father is hosting it, you should be there."

Marcus snorted and ended the call.

He sat back, trying to think of what the meeting would be all about. The last time Julian had called him concerning a meeting was the day he got engaged to Melissa, the daughter of one of the heads of the three-headed dragon family, and that had been a long time ago. 5 years ago to be precise.

He was still young and happy.

While in college, Marcus had been instructed to remain anonymous, for his own safety and still, the family had organized different men, disguised as students all around the school grounds, ready to protect Marcus if any rival family had had any ideas.

But all through his 4 years in college, no one except his cousin knew. He had come close to telling Olivia the truth numerous times, but the sense of duty and loyalty to the family stopped him before he said anything.

On that day, he had been in the library. Even though the family was rich enough to buy his degree, or even blackmail or threaten the school administrators into giving him the degree, Marcus preferred to study like every other student.

His phone rang, it was his cousin Julian, who was also in the college with Julian.

Sometimes, it felt like Julian was placed in college to keep a close watch on Marcus, and to prevent him from doing anything stupid.

"Where the fuck are you?" Julian had asked. "And don't say library…"

Marcus had laughed.

"Your father is here," Julian said, not sharing the humor.

"Where?" Marcus had asked, his laugh died in his throat.

"Here!" Julian said in a fierce whisper. "Get your ass home right now!"

"What?!" Marcus slapped his laptop close, stuffed his notes into a bag, and rushed out.

If there was one thing he had learned in the 20 years he had spent with his father, it was not to keep the old man waiting. Marcus had driven over the speed limit to the house that he and Julian shared. He noted the line of cars that lined the street. All were protection for his father.

There was barely anything thing to gain street rep than killing the boss of a rival family, and there were many people and organizations that wanted the boss of the Salvatore family dead.

Wherever the boss went, he took a whole army of bodyguards along with him.

Marcus had screeched to a stop and rushed into the house.

His father, Vittorio Salvatore, had been in the middle of a sentence when Marcus burst through the door, disheveled.

The men in the room turned to look at the newcomer.

Marcus had taken a deep breath and scanned the room. Apart from his father and his uncle Carlos – Julian's father, there were three other men in the room. These were the heads of the three-headed dragon.

One of the men had raised a bald eyebrow and snorted, "Is this the boy?" He had asked with an accent.

Marcus's father gave a small frown as Marcus before nodding. "Yes. This is my son, Marcus."

Marcus had tried to regain some composure and stood taller. The man had pinned him with hard stares that had made him feel like he was a microorganism under a microscope.

"He doesn't look like much," The same man had said.

Marcus heaved a heavy breath, "Padre, non starò qui e mi si parlerà in quel modo – Father, I will not allow myself to be spoken to like that,"

Vittorio patted his son's shoulder. "You offend my son," he said to the man.

The man scoffed and replied, "Then your son should grow up and get over it."

"And who are you?' Marcus asked, planting his hand on his hips to make himself look bigger.

"That is your father-in-law," Vittorio had said.

"What?" Marcus snapped at his father.

The three men sat smugly in their seats, looking at Marcus.

At that moment, they heard a scuffle going outside. A henchman entered politely and spoke into the ears of Carlos, who in turn whispered something to Vittorio.

"We are having a little issue," Vittorio had said to the men, "I will take care of it," And he left the room.

Marcus had stood there, exchanging harsh stares with the men across him. They had smug smiles on their chinky faces as they watched shock register on Marcus's face when he heard Olivia's voice shouting outside.

"Are you going to rescue your princess in distress?" His future father-in-law sneered.

Marcus clenched his jaws and refused to give the men the satisfaction. He knew that if Marcus showed any sign of affection to Olivia in front of these men, she would disappear before the week was over. So he sat down and poured himself a glass of brandy.

He saw something like respect flash through one of the men's eyes as Marcus ignored what was going on outside.

That was the last time Marcus had seen Olivia… until today.

Footsteps drew him out of his reverie and he looked up to see her walking towards him.

She did not look like she aged a day since 5 years ago. She was still slim with a perfect ass and medium-sized tits that pointed at him, like they were begging to be taken and sucked.

"I was not expecting to still see you here," she said in a cold voice. She walked past him without slowing down.

"I realized that you didn't give me your address," Marcus replied, matching her stride. "I'm sure that was not a mistake."

Then she stopped and stared Marcus in the eye before saying, "It was not a mistake. I don't want you anywhere near child and I definitely don't want you in my home." She snapped.

"Did you know he was being ostracized by his classmates?" Marcus asked.

The change of topic stunned Olivia and she blinked severally to get her thoughts together. "What? no."

"I guessed as much," Marcus said. "And you might want to know why." He put his hand into his pocket and waited for her to ask.

"Why?" She said through gritted teeth.

"Your address first, before I say anything," Marcus said, smiling. He could easily get it without Olivia saying anything, their empire had detailed Intel on everything and anything they wanted. But he enjoyed watching her squirm with indecision and curiosity.

"You know it already, don't you?" She asked.

Marcus's phone buzzed in his hand. He glanced at the screen, it was a reminder from Julian, he looked up and into her face and then nodded. "Jake said he was being mocked because he didn't have a father."

Olivia tried to subdue the shock that she felt.

"Where is his father, Olivia?" Marcus asked. "No kid deserves to pass through what he passed through."

Olivia inhaled sharply. "He's dead. He died when Jake was just a baby, he doesn't remember anything."

"Then you should tell him," Marcus said

"How long have you known my child?" Olivia asked.

"That doesn't matter –"

"It matters, Marcus," She interrupted. "After dinner today, I don't want to see you near me or my son ever again!" Without waiting for his reply, she walked off.

Marcus gave a small chuckle as he turned and watched her walk away. Her hostility spurred up a part of him that had been dead for a long time.

His phone buzzed again, "For fuck's sake, Julian. I'm coming," He muttered to himself and continued his walk.
