Chapter 32

All the Woodley’s except Lewis were enjoying a glass of milk in the parlor. It was a quarter to seven a bit late but you couldn't blame any of them who didn’t have a driver like Tom that knew how to beat the busy traffic. Surprisingly even George himself came in late, they found Elsie at home already helping the kids with homework, something none of them could do. It was one big happy family, and as the banter got more interesting, Joe stole Elsie away from the crowd. It had been long since the two of them had a chat, now that she knew him well she wasn't scared of facing him. But he was afraid of what she could bring on the table despite her calmness.

"What do you want Joe?"

"I come in peace" he said rising his arms in the air, a cool smile across his face that was not fooling her. She was well aware how quick he would have made it disappear.

"What a joke? Last I checked you, me and peace can't co-exist"

"It's time to loosen up a little bit because we have a problem"
