LOGINZina's POV
I ran towards Jared and threw my arms around him. He looked so different now. He had gotten more muscles and he looked so handsome. He was looking down at me with a glazed expression and I was left wondering what he's thinking about.
"How are you doing? Where have you been?"He still had that gazed expression on his face and I was left wondering what was wrong with him. "Hello, earth to Jared, can you hear me?" I said as I snapped my fingers at his face.
Jared seemed to have snapped out of it and he looked down at me with so much intensity, I couldn't help but melt under his gaze.
What is wrong with him?
He walked towards me and I suddenly grew nervous under his gaze."Zina, do you feel anything?" He asked with a serious expression on his face.
"Feel what?"
He dragged his hand through his hair and I could tell he was getting frustrated and nervous "Like a pull between us. Do you feel anything?"
I looked at him with a puzzled look on my face, "Jared, what's going on?"
He walked towards me and His fingers reached underneath my chin and holding my face, he forced me to look back into his eyes. The air thickened and spun. His stare turned from cold to warm in a matter of seconds. My lips parted as the silence grew between us. It was an odd, stretching silence that let the sounds of the activities happening outside rush into the room."I'm saying that you're my mate Zina."
I looked at him as though he had grown two heads and I felt my head spin from his words.
What was he saying?
I'm his mate, but it couldn't be.
"Jared, maybe you're mistaken." I stated. ''There's no way I'm your mate, I was mated to Xaden who is your Alpha-"
"Ex Alpha." He immediately corrected
I blinked up at him. Maybe I didn't hear him .
"Excuse me, but could you repeat that?"
He chucked and backed away from me. I was finally able to breathe because I couldn't think with him being so close to me.
"Xaden is no longer my Alpha. After you left there was no reason for me to remain in that pack so I gave him my two weeks notice and left him." He shrugged.
"Besides I refuse to be a beta or a pack member to an alpha who couldn't keep his cock in one place."I burst out laughing because that's a very detailed explanation of what Xaden did to me.
I walked towards the table and poured myself some water, "Well, it's all in the past now. I really don't want to remember him, I saw him at the hospital today."
Jared growled and he suddenly came to my side, "what for? What did he want?"
His eyes were getting red and I knew his wolf was about to take control and I had to look for a way to prevent that from happening. I reached up to his hair and ran my fingers through it.
He started purring like a cute puppy and I couldn't help but hold my giggles.
We stayed like that for a few more moments, just feeling each other and getting to hear each other's heartbeats.
I was literally freaking when Jared told me he's my mate. But it didn't make any sense, why was I suddenly paired with him now? Was it because I finally broke the mate bond between Xaden and l?When he finally calmed down, I told Jared about everything that happened in the hospital. - I didn't feel the need to hide it from him, I don't why but I felt safe with him. I told him from when Xaden commanded me to come back to his pack to when I rejected him in the hallway.
He was enraged when he heard about it. He swore he's going to hunt down Alpha Xaden that hurt me and kill him in the most painful way possible.
Despite his harsh words, I feel relieved. I can see the care and love in his eyes, something I had gotten from the first love of my life.
I leaned my cheek against Jared's chest, with my arms around his waist, as he rubbed my back soothingly, the tingles slowly lulled me to sleep.
I don't know why I felt so free with him, I feel so safe I can fall asleep anywhere, as long as he's with me.
I heard a growl-like sound coming from Jared's chest, but instead of scaring me, it made me melt in his embrace. It sounded like the purring sound of before.
"Mine." I heard a deep voice growl after a few moments.
But it was not Jared.
I leaned back from Jared's chest with wide eyes. Where did that sound come from? I glanced around quickly, my breath uneven."Mine. All mine." I gasped when the deep raspy voice came from Jared.
Before I could even utter a word, he crushed me to his
chest, burying his face in the crook of my neck and released that purring sound again."So beautiful, - he trailed his nose up the column of
my neck until he reached my ear, which he licked, earning a startled gasp from me - sensitive - he ran his tongue over the curve of my jaw then down my neck before nipping at the delicate skin, eliciting a breathy moan from me. I felt my cheeks burn in embarrassment, but he only growled huskily - and responsive. My little mate." He cupped my chin and tilted my head so I had to look into his eyes, both of which are red."W-who are you?" I whimper, trying to pull away, but he keeps me in place with his arm around my waist.
"Red. - I scrunch my brows in confusion – My cute little mate. - he tugs me closer to him -I'm Jared wolf." He says, which made me relax a bit.
If his human can't hurt me, then I don't see why his wolf should hurt me.
"Hello Red, it's nice to meet you." I said with a little smile on my face.
He seemed to be looking at me with a strange emotion, it looked more like adoration and I felt my cheeks flush and I hid my face with my hair.
"No, little mate, don't hide from me. Don't hide your beautiful face from me." He said while pulling my hair away from my face.
We heard a big bang and Jared immediately got in front of me. He was so ready to protect me.
"Mister, who are you? What are you doing with my mum?"
I knew that voice.
I looked over Jared's shoulder and I saw my little boy Asher glaring at Jared with his cute face.
"Ash honey, I'm alright. I was just talking to him, he wasn't going to hurt me." I said while leaving Jared's side.
When he saw me, he ran up to me. His little two piece outfit made him look so cute and smart. I couldn't get over how he's my son.
"Mummy."
I giggled as I bent down. "Hello Asher. How is my favorite little man doing?"
He ran into my arms and I fell backwards onto Jared's feet. I looked up to him to see him staring down at me with shock. I was practically sitting on his feet.
He kneeled down beside me and helped me back up. I
blushed and looked down at the little man in my arms. Asher was hung onto me like a koala bear."I missed you so much mum. I haven't seen you since-." He pulled his head out my chest and did his thinking face, his finger was on his chin and his eyes were looking upwards.
They brightened and he looked back at me.
"Since you went to work this morning mummy. That's more than a hundred hours." He began to stutter because of how fast he was talking.I giggled at his tactics because this isn't the first time he had complained of my disappearing acts.
"I'm sorry little man, I promise to be more available to you."
"That's more like it." He yelled.
I looked up at Jared and he was still staring down at me. He smirked and winked at me. I blushed and I felt Asher's grip tighten on me.
"Mum, is that my dad?" Asher asked and I felt my eyes bulge out.
I looked up at Jared and he was looking down at us with a shocked expression on his face.
Asher rushed towards him and started hugging his legs, "Daddy, daddy, daddy. You finally came home, I missed you. Please don't go anywhere anymore."
Asher was crying on Jared's legs and I felt tears in my eyes. I didn't know my son was suffering this much because of non-existent father, but how was I going to tell him the truth?
Jared went down on knees and placed his hands on Asher's shoulders, "I'm not your father kiddo, but I can be your best friend if you let me."
POV: ZinaThe kitchen felt quieter than it had moments ago, though the silence was far from comforting. My gaze lingered on the closed door, the echo of Trina's heels against the floor replaying in my mind like a haunting melody. I should have felt victorious—watching her crumble under the weight of my words should've been satisfying. But as I stood there, the adrenaline ebbed, replaced by a hollow exhaustion that pressed on my chest.I sank into the nearest chair, rubbing my temples. The fight had drained me more than I cared to admit. From the corner of my eye, I caught the tea kettle on the stove. The sight of it brought a sliver of comfort, so I busied myself making tea. As the water boiled, the steam curling upward, my thoughts wandered to a time long before Trina and her perfectly curated chaos.---Xaden's laughter echoed through the kitchen, rich and unrestrained. I had been trying to teach him how to make pancakes, and his clumsy attempts had resulted in batter smeared across
POV: ZinaThe knock at the door wasn't surprising; I'd been expecting a delivery. Asher's new schoolbooks had been delayed for days, and I had spent the morning waiting to sign for them. But when I opened the door, my stomach clenched.Standing there, dressed as though she'd stepped out of a fashion magazine, was Trina. And she hasn't changed a bit.For a moment, neither of us spoke. Her sharp cheekbones and meticulously styled hair glistened in the sunlight. Her lips were painted a bright red, her eyes hidden behind oversized sunglasses that she slowly removed, revealing a piercing stare."Zina." Her voice was sugary but laced with badly hidden spite.I leaned against the doorframe, crossing my arms. "Well, well, well, if it isn't the woman who thought stealing my husband was a promotion. I see you have removed the devil's thorns on your head."Her painted lips twitched into a tight smile. "I see you haven't changed.""Neither have you bitch," I shot back. "What do you want from me?"
POV: JaredIt was a quiet morning in the office, the kind where everything felt routine. The hum of my computer filled the room as I worked through an endless string of emails. I liked mornings like this—structured, predictable. But the peace shattered in an instant. The door to my office slammed open so hard it hit the wall. I looked up, startled, as Xaden stormed in like a man on fire. His face was twisted with fury, his eyes sharp and blazing."Jared!" he snapped, his voice loud enough to carry through the entire floor. My assistant, Sarah, appeared behind him, looking flustered and apologetic. "I tried to stop him, Mr. Jared, but he—""It's fine," I interrupted, holding up a hand. "Close the door, Sarah. I'll handle this."She hesitated for a moment, clearly unsure if she should leave me alone with him. I gave her a reassuring nod, and she finally backed out, shutting the door softly behind her.Xaden wasted no time. He strode over to my desk, his movements stiff with anger. He pl
A Mother's Dilemma Zina POV The morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, painting the kitchen with a soft glow. I had barely slept, my mind running circles around the storm Xaden had stirred up. His words from last night haunted me: the anger, the betrayal, and his unspoken promise to not back down.I placed two plates of scrambled eggs and toast on the table, the aroma filling the small kitchen. Asher shuffled in, rubbing his sleepy eyes and dragging his stuffed dinosaur behind him. His messy curls framed his face, and despite my inner turmoil, his presence brought a fragile sense of calm."Morning, Mom," he mumbled, climbing into his chair."Good morning, sweetheart," I replied, trying to sound cheerful. "Did you sleep well?""Uh-huh," he said, already diving into his breakfast. "I'm so hungry!"I chuckled softly, though the sound felt forced. Watching him eat reminded me of how much I had to lose. My appetite remained absent, but I sat across from him, sipping on a glass o
Zina's POVThe knock on the door was sharp and insistent, cutting through the quiet of the night. My chest tightened as I glanced at the clock. Midnight. No one came by this late, especially not unannounced. The heavy silence in the house suddenly felt suffocating.Hesitant, I moved toward the door, each step weighed down by an inexplicable sense of dread. When I opened it, my breath caught. Xaden stood there, his tall frame illuminated by the dim porch light. His face was a storm of fury, his eyes blazing with anger."What are you doing here?" I asked, gripping the door tightly to steady myself."You didn't think I'd find you, did you?" His voice was sharp, cutting through the air like a blade."I don't know what you're talking about," I said quickly, trying to shut the door, but he shoved it open and stepped inside."You don't get to shut me out, Zina," he growled, his voice rising. "Not this time."I glared at him, my heart pounding. "You can't just barge into my life like this. Yo
Zina POVThe water pours down relentlessly, the sound a soothing yet deafening roar around us. Each droplet feels like a whisper against my skin, but it does little to calm the storm raging within me. Jared's arms are wrapped securely around me, his chest rising and falling steadily as if he isn't as affected by this as I am. How could he be so calm when I feel like my world is on the verge of shattering?I press my forehead against his chest, trying to focus on his warmth. It's grounding, comforting even. I should feel safe here, and I do, but there's an undercurrent of fear—fear of what this moment means, fear of what I've just given him, fear of the unknown future."Zina," Jared's deep voice cuts through the quiet chaos in my head. He says my name softly, almost reverently, as if it's the most precious word he's ever spoken. "Look at me."I hesitate for a moment, reluctant to meet his gaze. When I finally tilt my head up, his dark eyes are waiting, filled with something I can't qui
