Chapter 6 The Formula of Five Elements

"Master, I'm so weak right now. What if one day you are absent and I get bullied by someone stronger than me?"

"Since you only have me as your disciple, you can't just watch me getting bullied. That way, you will also feel ashamed, right?"

"Therefore, I think it's better for you to impart it to me as soon as possible. When I become stronger, others won't dare to bully me. Then you'll also be proud of me. "Li Kong stared eagerly at the old man, his eyes filled with hope.

"When did you become so glib, kid? But that indeed makes sense. My disciple can only bully others."

"You can't be bullied by others. Here, I have a secret manual that suits you." The old man couldn't help but laugh. Then, he waved his hand, then a classic book instantly appeared in his palm.

"This is the only secret manual on the continent that cultivates all five elements at the same time. It can be said that it is specially tailored for you."

"Now I give it to you. You must cherish it. Remember not to reveal this secret manual in front of others. Otherwise, it might bring you a life threatening danger." The old man explained and cautioned.

Although Liu Kuilin believed that no one should know about this secret manual which had a history of a thousand years, it was still likely to be documented in the records of some ancient families. Those ancient families were all like vampires who could do anything for their own interests, let alone a powerful magic book.

The higher the level of the magic book, the stronger the skill would be when it was cultivated to the late stage. Every magic book that came into light would trigger a lot of killing.

Most mages could only rely on large aristocratic families or join the military government to acquire the corresponding magic skills.

However, a comprehensive magic book would be unthinkable to most ordinary people. But some mages, who did not want to be controlled by others, would choose to take the risk. They wanted to use it to acquire their desired magic skills. Thus, various adventuring teams were born because of this.

They often went to various secret realms to search for magic skills. If they found the suitable one, they would cultivate on their own. If they were not suitable ones, they would choose to exchange or auction.

Of course, they also took some other missions. As long as there was enough reward, these people would dare to undertake anything. Therefore, the adventure team was the force that a majority of grass-root mages loved to join.

This was an ancient, yellowing book with the words "Formula of Five Elements" printed on the title page of the book.

Seeing the Formula of Five Elements in the old man's palm, Li Kong even breathed short. Listening to the old man explaining the stakes of this matter, he knew that this was destined to be another secret of his.

As for the first one, of course it was the five elements he had awakened.

Regarding this point, his master had also warned him that everyone wanted to recruit geniuses, but if they were too monstrous, they could become a thorn in the eyes of some great powers. They would try all possible means to eradicate the people who were a threat to them.

Therefore, Li Kong only intended to reveal the two elements of fire and earth in front of others. One attack and one defense would be perfect.

Moreover, this would not make others feel that he was mediocre, nor would they feel that he was too monstrous.

Carefully taking the book from the old man, Li Kong knew that if he wanted to defeat the five giant wolves, he had to combine his talent with this ancient book to become a Second Grade mage...

"No, what's the problem this time?" Li Kong muttered to himself as he sensed that elements were slowly dissipating in his body.

He had earnestly followed the meridian circulation recorded in the book, but why had he failed? Li Kong was unconvinced and tried it again.

In a moment, the elements once again dissipated from Li Kong's body. This made Li Kong a little confused. Why was it that he couldn't succeed even though he had followed the instructions in the book? What was wrong?

With doubts, Li Kong gave it another try.

Failed, failed, failed again. After so many failures, things were turning around.

"Boom!" A fist-sized hole appeared in a thick tree in the distance. Looking at his fist, Li Kong found it hard to believe that he finally managed to exert the Flame Fist recorded in this ancient book.

Touching his somewhat stiff face, Li Kong burst out laughing. It had been a whole month since he got the ancient book. During this month, he spent every day studying magic skills, entering the Gate of Trials and soaking in the medicinal bath.

Now that he was finally able to exert the Flame Fist of level 2, how could he not be rapturous?

"You brat, why are you screaming so early in the morning to disturb my sweet dream?" Liu Kuilin, who was awakened by Li Kong's laughter, shouted.

Hearing the old man's complaint, Li Kong scratched his head awkwardly and said, "Master, I have already learned the Flame Fist."

"So what? Why are you so excited and shouted so early in the morning?" The old man's eyes were hazy, but he seemed to have thought of something and raised his voice. "Say it again, what have you learned?"

"Flame Fist!"

"Boom!" The old man felt as if he was struck by lightning and found it unbelievable. He had only cultivated for a short month, but now he was able to learn the Flame Fist.

The old man coughed to cover up his loss of composure and said seriously, "It is a good news that you have learned it. You can't be overconfident because of it, otherwise it will be counterproductive."

Li Kong also realized that he had lost control, so he suppressed his joy and replied, "Got it."

"Since you've learned the Flame Fist, then you'll go and pass the first level today." The old man stroked his beard.

"Well, I'll do it."

"Flame Fist!" Li Kong shouted and waved at a giant wolf. "Bang!" The giant wolf fiercely fell on the arena and lost its breath. Looking at the fourth giant wolf on the ground, Li Kong took a deep breath.

Then he suddenly rushed out and threw a whip kick at the last living dark puppet. Instantly, the giant wolf fell down.

"I finally passed the first level. I wonder what the second level looks like?" Li Kong touched his chin and muttered to himself.

The purple-robed figure appeared again and said, "Congratulations, you have passed the first level of the trial. Will you continue to enter the second level?"

Li Kong, who was curious, struggled for a while before deciding, "Yes." Li Kong only had the thought of going to the second floor to take a look. As for passing the second level, he had never even thought about it.

With his strength that could barely pass the first level, if he insisted on trying the second level, he would have no choice but to be beaten down.

The purple-robed figure slowly faded away, and then a group of giant wolves suddenly appeared on the arena.

The roar lingered on the arena for a long time.

Looking at the dense pack of giant dark puppet wolves, the corner of Li Kong's mouth twitched. Without hesitation, he turned around and rushed off the stage.

This was not a joke. Li Kong was sure that he would die within ten seconds as long as he charged into the wolf pack and fought with it. Although he would not be really dead, the heart-wrenching pain was not fake.

"How strong must one be to pass the second level?" Li Kong sighed.

However, when he thought that his future opponents would be these giant wolves, his young face immediately darkened.

Li Kong, who followed the old man back to the back mountain, immediately entered a state of cultivation. He had only grasped the Fire Element magic skill, and he still had no idea about the four elements of gold, wood, water, and earth. He had to learn the second level magic of the other four elements, so that he would have the advantage among his peers.

To think that others only had one magic skill, but if you could use five different elemental skills, then you would definitely be able to give the opponent a hell of a licking.

At the thought of this, Li Kong smirked.

Liu Kuilin, who was at the side, did not disturb Li Kong. Instead, he lay down on his reclining chair. He picked up the fan nearby and fanned himself while thinking. This kid was really simple and steady.

Besides, his talent was even more astonishing. One had to know that even though the Formula of Five Elements was unrated, it was not weaker than a Super Magic Book. The magic skill inside could not be learned as easy as pie.

But that brat Li Kong only used a month to learn the Flame Fist. Just this point alone was enough to demonstrate that Li Kong had an extraordinary talent.

"I'm already old, old. This world belongs to the young already, not an old monster like me." The old man sighed.

"Then it's time to give him some new experience. The strong climbed up by stepping on the bones of the weak. Without bloody growth, they can't become strong in the end. I should allow him to do that." The old man's muttering sound became smaller and smaller, but his snoring became louder and louder.

Apart from the sleeping old man, there was only Li Kong, who was earnestly cultivating, with the tranquility filled the back mountain...
