Chapter 10 : Date Night

"I still can't believe you're married now," Julie exclaimed and helped her friend Rica pack up some of her things. She knew it would be lonely and gloomy without her but she couldn't tell her that. "Don't be selfish," she told herself. "It's not like you could keep Rica for the rest of your life." Yet, no matter how much she convinced herself to be happy for Rica, she couldn't understand why she felt betrayed.

"I can't believe it myself," Rica chuckled as she watched Julie pull out a big box on the top of her dresser. She stood up to help her bring it down. She opened the old box and looked into it. It had her old necklace, stuffed toy bear and her drawings when she was still a kid. Buried deep under the box, she found some photos. She took them in her hands and stared at them. They were the only photographs of her parents she had. "I miss you so much," she mumbled as she touched her parents' faces. A tear fell from her eye.
