Drive. I'll pay you

She hastily walked away from Mr Barett's restaurant. She'd be toast meat if he caught her

"Get back here Elsie and pay for the damage you caused" Mr Barett's loud angry voice reached her ears. She hastened her steps even more.

She got to the roadside, opened the first car she saw. Fortunately, it wasn't locked. She got into the passenger's seat and told the person in the driver's seat "Drive now. I'll pay you"

Elsie looked outside the window and saw Mr Barett running towards her direction with his fingers balled into fists

"Drive!! Can't you hear me?" She yelled at the person in the driver's seat, still facing outside the window.

Mr Barett was almost where she was. She could see his mouth moving, but she couldn't hear what he was saying because the window of the car was wined up

The driver started the car and sped off. Elsie looked back at Mr Barett's figure getting smaller and smaller, he kicked the dust and entered into his restaurant

She rested her head on the headrest of the car and placed her hand on her forehead. That day was her payday, the day she got her salary from work.

Most of her days entailed her having noodles for dinner, not because she chose to, but because that was usually the only food left in her kitchen

When she get paid her salary, she would usually treat herself to a nice dinner at Mr Barett's. That Friday, was like the other paydays, having a sumptuous meal at Mr Barett's until she unintentionally shattered his most priced possession.

Mr Barett always boasted about how he got a priceless vase in his possession. He would usually keep the vase in the middle of the counter where they made their orders. He said it was too precious to be hidden from the world. The vase was from his favourite gaffer, Antonio Smith. He got the chance to meet him during his early years in school.

How does she know all these? Mr Barett won't miss the slightest opportunity in telling his customers about how he got the vase. The vase was an equisite one, its bulb shape made it stand out from the usual vases. It was transparent and glowed in the dark. The mouth of the vase was painted with colours that could steal one's breath away. It was no doubt beautiful

Elsie had finished eating her meal and wanted to pay her bill when she accidentally hit the vase causing it to fall on the floor and shatter. Half of the fault went to Mr Barett. Why on earth would he keep his valuable in such an opened place??

She knew she was dead meat when she saw shards of the vase on the floor. Elsie dropped the money on the counter and immediately took to her heels. Mr Barrett probably heard shattering which caused him to leave his office and come out.

And that was how she got into a stranger's car.

After they had gotten pretty far from the restaurant, the car halted. She brought out a hundred dollars and stretched it to the man.

"Here, thanks. You saved me from a huge mess" She turned her head to the man and her heart skipped a beat. She didn't once face the man throughout the entire car ride. Elsie didn't realize she have been in the same car with an angel... No, not an angel, a god.

He was looking straight ahead at the road. His super fair skin made his black shirt color pop. The shirt hugged his body so tight that she was able to see the outline of his muscles and abs through the shirt. The first three buttons were undone, completely exposing his toned chest.

Elsie could only see his side view. His eyelashes almost made her cower as a lady. His nose was slim and pointed, his thin lips were red in color, his jaw was sharp. His hands that gripped the steering wheel had veins bulging from them. Captivating! All those features in one person, a whole piece of perfection.

Elsie almost drooled looking at him. She looked around the car and thought she was in heaven. It reeked of wealth! It was a model she had never come across before. She suddenly felt stupid for offering him a hundred dollars.

"I-I-I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to barge into your car like that. You see.... "

"Get out" The man cut her off. His deep reverberating voice echoed in her head. It felt like she was being hypnotised. She couldn't decipher what he said. He said something like come back or so

"Out" The man repeated.

Oh! That was what he said. She grabbed her bag and got down from the car, feeling a bit dejected. It's not everyday you get so close to a god alright!

"I'm so sorry, and I'm really grateful" Elsie said before highlighting from the car. The car sped off immediately she got down

She boarded a taxi and went home.

Elsie could hear her little brother conversing with his game buddies over the phone from outside

She opened the door and sat on the couch. Harry still hadn't noticed she came in. His had his headphone on and his fingers were rapidly moving over the screen of his phone, tapping and tapping

"There's an enemy at your back, Jack, be careful!"

"Sniper, sniper"

"..."

Harry yelled as he played. The game was called call of duty or something of that sort

"Good game, guys" Harry said before removing his headphone

"Big sis, you're back" Finally, he noticed someone was around

"Well, obviously. You're not seeing a ghost" Elsie stood up and went to the kitchen, made a list of what they needed and went back to the living room

"Playing games all day is not lucrative, Harry. Focus on school" she reprimanded.

Harry rolled his eyes and sighed. He was tired of explaining to his sister that gaming was already a legit business and people earned from it.

Harry merely ignored her and went to his room. She went to her room too and slumped her body on the bed. Her mind drifted to that man " What perfection!" she thought

She slept off after creating scenarios of herself and him together in her mind. I mean who wouldn't??

Somewhere in the outskirts of the city, a black mayback passed through a golden gate and halted in front of a two-storey mansion. The house was painted white with red and black roofing. It had beautiful high arched windows and a large remotable door. The surroundings was filled with flowers of different kind and a large swimming pool could be sighted at the left side of the house. A fountain elegantly sat in the middle of the compound

Damien parked his car in his lot. He was about to get down when he saw the hundred dollar note on his control stick. He merely glanced at it before entering his house. Damien didn't think much of the girl earlier. Ladies throw themselves at him everyday anyway, he saw her as no different

He entered his house and saw Alden, his best friend on the couch. He wore a plain white high-collar shirt and blue trousers, toppled with a navy blue jacket. He sat with his left leg over the other as he flipped through the newspaper in his hand

It wasn't unusual to find him in Damien's house. He stays in Damien's house more than he stayed at his. Damien went to the living room and sat next to him

Alden sipped his tea and said without looking at him" You ready for training?"

That sounded like a question, but Damien knew Alden was telling him to get off and start training. Alden dropped his teacup and went outside, while Damien tailed behind him
