"You're actually still alive."

Grandfather stood at my cabin door with several elders behind him. Their expressions showed no concern but anger.

Three months after dissolving the mate bond, I'd been living an unprecedentedly peaceful life. Every day I practiced my Moon Goddess power, studied ancient texts, and prepared to participate in the once-a-century Moon Goddess priestess selection.

But they shattered that peace.

Grandfather looked at me coldly. "We're here to tell you about a decision."

I waited for their judgment.

"You went on and dissolved the mate bond despite our attempts to stop you," Elder Mary said. "There are already rumors in the pack that we failed to raise you properly."

"And?" I asked calmly.

"So you must go back and find a way to rebuild your relationship with Damon," Grandfather ordered. "Even if you can't be Luna, you at least need to maintain some kind of connection to preserve the family's reputation."
