Chapter 46– Lisa’s POV

It’s been three whole weeks since that day…

Three weeks since Nick caught me on Vincent’s lap, looking like a shameless fool, and I haven’t seen or heard from him since. He won’t take my calls. He doesn’t return my messages. It’s like he vanished from the face of the earth, and I feel like the most horrible person alive.

It’s all my fault.

My fault for being weak.

For falling head over heels for my boss.

For letting him control my emotions, my body, and my heart.

Nick is a good person—too good. He didn’t deserve to be dragged into this mess, didn’t deserve to be hurt by someone like me. And yet, I broke him. Just like I’ve been breaking slowly every single day since he disappeared.

Clara’s been trying to comfort me, but I can’t be calm—not when Nick is somewhere out there, hurting. Not when I close my eyes and see the disappointment in his. God… I’m a terrible person.

What makes it worse is how I have to hide my guilt—hide how worried I am about Nick every time

Chapter 48– Vincent’s POVI couldn’t sit still. The rage had settled—but the storm it left behind was far from gone. It clung to my skin, humming just beneath the surface like an electric current that refused to die. I was pacing across my room like a man possessed, my fists clenched, jaw tight, every nerve screaming for release. The image of Lisa kept replaying in my mind—curled up, frightened, her skin marred by bruises that weren’t mine.I hadn’t even seen her yet.I couldn’t. I didn’t trust myself not to lose it completely. One look at her, and I would’ve pulled her into my arms and kissed her until she forgot her pain—until I forgot I was a goddamn married man.But now?Now I didn’t care.I needed to see her. To touch her. To feel her breathing, alive, and safe. And to make sure she knew—she was mine.I left my room without a word to Bruce or anyone else. The house had gone quiet for the night; most of the maids were already in their quarters. But I could feel her. That magnetic

Chapter 47– Vincent’s POVThe moment Bruce reported what happened, I saw red. Those two bitches laid a finger on Lisa? They dared to hurt her?My jaw clenched so hard I could feel my teeth grind against each other. My hands were in fists, nails digging into my palms as I stood in my study, staring out the large windows—but I wasn’t seeing the garden. I was seeing blood. Their blood.“She cried,” Bruce had added, his voice low, like it physically pained him to admit it. “She didn’t even fight back. Just took it.”A storm raged inside me. I didn’t give a damn what anyone said—maid or not, Lisa was mine. And no one touched what belonged to me.I had Mira and Cherry dragged to the guard house. They begged. Screamed. Lied.“She seduced you, didn’t she, sir?” Mira cried. “We were just—”I struck her across the face so hard she hit the floor. Cherry gasped, but I could see the guilt in her eyes. Good. She knew it was over.“I don’t care if she’s a maid,” I growled, standing over them. “I don

Chapter 45– Vincent’s POVShe ran. Breathless, and flushed.Just like that, she vanished behind the door, leaving me standing half-naked in the middle of my room, the air thick with tension and unspoken hunger.Damn her.I clenched my fists, my jaw tightening as I listened to the soft click of her door shutting across the hall. She was in there—probably pacing, probably thinking about everything that just happened. The image of her delicate hands trembling as she unbuttoned my shirt played on repeat in my head. She looked terrified, innocent... aroused.I shouldn’t have done that to her.But fuck, I couldn’t help myself. The second I walked in and saw her bowed head, soft and obedient, I wanted to ruin that control of hers. I wanted to see how much of her was still untouched—how much of her would break if I teased just a little more. And when she hesitated to remove my pants, her wide eyes locked on the bulge she clearly couldn’t ignore… I knew I had her exactly where I wanted her.

Chapter 44 – Lisa’s POVAfter Clara left, the weight in my chest only grew heavier. I picked up my phone, fingers trembling as I dialed the number that always brought a sliver of comfort—my mom’s.She answered on the second ring. “Lisa, sweetheart!”My lips curved in a faint smile, though my throat tightened. “Hi, Mama. How’s Papa doing today?”A pause. I could hear the shift in her tone even before she spoke. “He had another bad night, but he’s stable this morning. Still in pain… but the nurses say he’s improving.”My heart clenched. “I’ll send more money today, I promise. And I’ll come visit soon. I really will.”“I know you will,” she said gently. “But Lisa… are you okay? Your voice sounds different.”I opened my mouth to lie, but stopped. I couldn’t tell her the truth. I couldn’t even begin to explain what I was going through—what I was becoming.“I’m just tired,” I whispered. “A little overwhelmed, that’s all.”“You’re working too hard, aren’t you? Maybe you should come back hom

  • Entangled Hearts    chapter 43

Chapter 43 – Lisa’s POVThe room fell silent again the moment Clara left, and the silence this time felt heavier.More personal. My fingers clutched the edge of the pillow I had tossed at her seconds ago, the fabric still warm from my touch. I sank deeper into the bed and pulled my knees to my chest, wrapping my arms around them as if trying to hold myself together.Vincent’s scent was still everywhere, in the air, on my skin. His kiss still burned on my lips, and I could feel the echo of his possessive grip on my waist. How had everything changed so fast?It felt like yesterday I was just a maid in this house, invisible to everyone but Clara. Now, I had my things in this room, Vincent’s mouth on mine, and his voice in my head telling me not to leave.I was trapped—but the chains were invisible, and worse, they were laced with desire.I buried my face against my knees. What the hell am I doing? What was he doing? The more I thought about it, the more I realized Vincent wasn't just pl

Chapter 42 – Lisa’s POVThe door clicked shut behind him, and I was left standing in the center of the room—my room now, apparently—feeling like the floor had been ripped out from under me.My fingers brushed over my lips. They were still tingling.Vincent had kissed me again. Hard. Possessive. Like he owned me.And I had kissed him back.Like I wanted him to.God help me.I sank onto the edge of the bed, my thoughts spinning wildly.Just an hour ago, I was seated on his lap, in the dining room… on full display. And Nick—dear, sweet Nick—had walked in on us.The flash of shock and heartbreak in his eyes had cut me deeper than I expected.I hadn’t meant for him to see.I hadn’t meant for anyone to see.But Vincent didn’t care. He didn’t even flinch. He simply stared back at Nick with that cold dominance of his, like he was daring him to say something. Do something. Try something.I pressed my palms against my heated face. What was I doing? This wasn’t just complicated—it was wrong. He

Chapter 41Vincent’s POVI stepped out of her room and shut the door softly behind me.But there was nothing soft about what churned inside me.My blood still burned with the taste of her lips, her scent clinging to my skin like sin. The way she surrendered in my arms—obedient, sweet, mine—was a high no drug could match. Yet even in the afterglow, something darker simmered just beneath the surface.Nick.The way his eyes found Lisa during breakfast. That flicker of interest. That silent question in his gaze as if he were wondering what we were. Wondering if she was still… available.I clenched my jaw until it ached. He saw her lips—pink, swollen from my kisses. He saw how she sat silently, shyly, almost too obedient. He knew. He fucking knew something happened. And I didn’t like the way he looked at her.Like she hurt him. Like she fucking betrayed him..She didn’t.She was mine.Every soft moan that escaped her mouth. Every breathless whisper . Every bashful glance that made my cock

Chapter 40 – Vincent’s POV She was late. I stood by the window, the sunlight hitting my bare chest as I swirled the liquor in my glass. I hadn’t slept. Not really. Not after last night. Not after feeling her break and mold under my hands like she was made for me. And she was. The moment I touched her, claimed her, there was no turning back. Lisa was mine. My personal maid, my distraction, my obsession. I heard her footsteps long before she reached the door. She hesitated outside. Good. She should be nervous. The door creaked open. “You’re late,” I said, not turning. “I’m sorry, sir,” came her soft whisper. That voice… it could undo me if I let it. I turned, my gaze devouring her the moment our eyes met. She looked shaken, sore. There was a red mark peeking from her collar—the edge of a bruise I knew well because I had placed it there. My control slipped for a second, the image of her under me flashing across my mind. But I couldn’t let her see that. “Come her
