19 - FOREIGN

I could never get used to how students called Irvin, Mr. Sloane. It just sounded so… unnatural and besides, I could never give that jackass an iota of respect. I wouldn’t even call him that if I was on my deathbed and it was the only way to save my life.

But whatever had gone down in the classroom when I first arrived, between me and Irvin, had not gone unseen. Leah had noticed this—I always thought the girl had a detective side to her—and clearly shared it with Rachel. Liam didn’t seem to be in the mix though and wasn’t very happy now that he was in it but I was nervous at how eager Rachel and Leah were to hear what I had to say.

The only person that was ever interested in anything that came out of my mouth was Alpha Evan. And that was definitely not gossip or extra information about myself so this was foreign.

Foreign? Foreign was a funny word to say in this meager situation because everything that’s happened to me so far in the last three days has been beyond foreign.
